  1. Michael Poarch has offers from Maryville College, Rhodes College, Sewanee, Furman, and Louisville, but I believe he is pretty sure that he will be in either Sewanee or Furman. Either way, you will probably be hearing about Michael "Superstar P." Poarch soon.

As far as Todd Johnson, he has offers from UT-Chattanooga and MTSU. He is pretty sure that he will be going to MTSU because of the coaching change at UTC, though.

Does anyone have info on Nic? I would love to know where he is going - I would love to catch a few passes from him, LOL. Too bad we were rivals earlier in life /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

  2. I'm taking AP Calculus and this is what I've been learning:

    SPEED=X, GOOD GAME=G

    Also, Alcoa=A=2X

    Tyner=T=2X

    If X+X=G, then

    2X times 2X=G-squared...

(In other words...)Alcoa is fast, however they are not the only fast team. Tyner has exceptional speed and match up quite well with Alcoa, IMO. Remember a couple of years ago when these 2 teams met up in the semi-finals? Tyner had a bunch of turnovers that ultimately cost them the game. However, the teams were well-matched...On any given Friday, anybody can beat anybody - Nothing is guaranteed. That's all I have to say.

  3.

Westmoreland players are getting ready for Basketball season. All year long even though we knew Region 4 2A was weak, we thought we would be Region champs. Now look at what has happened, drawn Tyner who is head and shoulders better than anyone in Region 4 or probably in 2A team in Middle Tennessee. Our kids are feeling sorry for themselves. We might would have had a chance against Sequatchie. We are two small and slow to compete with the Rams.

Hey singray....I thought the ole licker of the stamp was ther only one that tried this stratagy.

    Good luck Friday ...

Hmm...Guess that is an interesting strategy. However, I'm going to have to disagree with you, 5508. Westmoreland actually looked like a pretty good team on film. If we go into the game with that frame of mind, we will definitely lose and be on our way home. Unfortunately, we will not fall into that trap. We know for a fact that Westmoreland wants this game (almost) just as bad as we do. The Eagles are a solid team, especially up front and with #33 and #34 running the ball, it will be a tough game. I expect my Rams to come out there and lay it all out on the field, just like Westmoreland will. The Rams' so-called senior "studs" don't want to go home 'til they hoist a golden trophy...Trust me. But this will be a good one.

  4. May be a long shot, but Michael Poarch, #16 RB/DB from Tyner Academy. Harder for him since Coach Turner gets the ball out evenly to other backs, but he is a great, electrifying back that is a difference maker physically and emotionally for the Rams. Sorry don't have the stats right now, but you should look him up. Rams are 4-0 and he made All-State for Cornerback last year.

  5. With Booker T being 0-4, losing by scores of 0-35, 8-20, 30-34, and 6-36 it is going to be ugly. If it is 48-0 at or before half I will not be surprised. The only thing that will determine this score is how many Alcoa wants to score.

I am also pretty sure that we can handle our next 6 region games. I don't see any real threat left this year in the regular season, and at this point not the post season either. I do wish Alcoa had some close games, but it is not that region 2 is that bad, Alcoa is just that good.

I will say Alcoa by 42, could be worse but we will probably call off the starters early and start substituting.

Wow...BOLD statement there buddy. LOL. But hey, everyone is entitled to their own opinion...and it IS early in the season...

  6. Toots, Whistles, two FARRED UP football teams and danged ole Pirate spies lurking in the stands. Things could get exciting in Marion County next Friday night. I'm a little unsure about your meaning of "what happend to them last week". Heck, we won; I feel pretty good about it. Its the Tyner and SP posters confident of a blowout game; most Marion supporters are just hoping for another win.

All you aggravating Pirate posters need to drop that "rose colored glasses" talk. Its getting lame, and its just plain stupid.

I like that "farred up" phrase though. Ole Delmar hit a "homer" with that one.

BTW, I was unaware of what MC did last week until recently, but I just meant that as in: Regardless of what the SP fans are talking about that has happened in the past, I know this will be a good one.

  7. do you all start , or give P.T to alot of underclassmen? we start a good amount of underclassmen...........2 Soph , 7-9 juniors

Right now we start about 10 underclassmen...a mix of soph and juniors. Mostly sophomores, but we rotate other underclassmen FREQUENTLY at all positions. We have a LOT of good, young depth. It really goes a long way to keep the team fresh. Ya'll still destroying people in Alcoa?

  8. As far as this Friday goes, the Rams can come away with a good victory if they just execute what Coach T calls. Coach Turner was calling a heck of a game Friday and it's a shame that the coaching factor was overlooked in the game last week. I don't expect the Rams to fall off this week.

Injuries, however, could pose a threat. Starting receivers Corbin Norwood (#15) and Travis Jones (#2) probably will not be playing this week. FB Todd Johnson (#6) is still out with that Hammy problem. The line is also banged up, and IF the rumors were true(You know, the ones about how Tyner has lost everything...You know what I'm talkin about), Tyner could lose this one. BUT...Since we gained more than we lost, we have a TON of depth, so I wouldn't be too concerned with that.

Regardless of how Marion feels and what happened to them last week, the Rams will be (If I may "borrow" your word) "FARRED" up for this game. Don't expect to hear that lil' whistle too much...It'll be drowned out by that infamous, ominous TOOT-TOOT-TOOTING of the RAM TRAIN!

  9.

Tyner will be ok, I've seen Alcoa play and might be going this week to see them play again..Tyner and Alcoa should be a good game.

But Tadvols, you're calling your boys out.. The QB did make a bad throw at the end of the half but at least he tried to make something happen. I know he wished he could've had that back but still you guys played a great game. Just get a win this coming week ok. i would hate to have an 0-8 team going into the AE game. hahahah well that's sounds good but still LOL LOL There's some questionable things I had to say about the game but I'm not I mean, what can you say? Fulton played a great game. Well never mind, here I go...

    1. Why would your DB bat the up instead of down? Tyner wr made a heckuva catch when that happen.

    2. Punt Block- Yeah your player was wrong for that and I know Coach Coatney got into him but still he gots to learn "Champs" I mean, Runner Ups don't do that...

    3. Whatever happen to the other WR's? If I'm not wrong, Styles is the only WR that touched the ball for Fulton. What happen to the other ones? I know I saw Pitch wide open 1 or 2 times but the ball was thrown to Styles.. I guess you're sticking to, "If they couldn't stop him why not throw it to him?" I understand that but starting now, I'm sure many teams will key in on Styles... He had a heckuva game his first game as a Falcon.. My hat is off to him as well.. You Falcons shouldn't be ashamed you played a good game.. I must add, that was my first game at Fulton without the Roadrunners playing.. Dang I felt so out of place

    ...To answer your questions:

    1. Corbin and Michael (WR & RB) were there for Tyner to catch the ball...Fulton's DB was confused and I think Mike made the catch.

Actually, TRF, it was Corbin Norwood, #15 that made the catch. Mike Poarch tipped it up with his head. LOL. If you know what I mean. And it was a great catch. It was a gutsy play and really was the play sparked the Rams and got them wheels arollin'...

  10. This one is in Knoxville. And, like always, this will be a tough one, regardless of the teams' records. Fulton may be 0-2 or whatever, but every year they are loaded, are coached very well, and play hard. Tyner, while 3-0, is a good team, but as we saw last Friday against Bledsoe, they let teams hang around. They also have a problem with turnovers. If the Rams can keep the turnovers to a minimum and stay focused, they can come away with a good, hard-earned win.

BTW, LivingLegend, if you want one of those fish "samiches" you're gonna have to wait a week for next week's game: South Pitt. @ Tyner...But ya better get there early, I got a feeling it's gonna be a sell-out...

  11. Short answer: NO

    Long anser:

    1. Tyner struggled some last year and as far as I know they dont have a that much better of a team back this year. Tyner is always good and they always have talent but I believe they went out in the first round last year and that would mean they lost to the 4th place form region 4...if that is the case, enough said!

    2. I live in west Tennessee and I personally saw 3 teams last year that have returning talent that would cruise against any team in region 3.

    3. As far as your comment about Boyd not being ranked...you jump to conclusions way to easy. I completely agree with the voters...Boyd shouldnt be ranked and they shouldnt have received any votes! They doesnt change my opinion that Tyner shouldnt be ranked 5th. I be there isnt another team in the state that didnt get out of the first round of last years playoff ranked in the top 5 in any classification but you are welcome to correct me if I am wrong.

I assume you think they should be? If so, why? I didnt know Bledsoe County fans loved Tyner so much

Well, I've got three points to make. One, yes we struggled some, but who wouldn't. We played 2 State Champion football teams, however, at some point in those two games, we were in position to win. We led Knox Fulton 21-6 at half, but let it slip through our hands. We lost to South Pittsburg due to a lost fumble within the ten yard line in the 4th Quarter. So, yes, we struggled against talented teams. But, at the same time, who wouldn't? I believe Murphy Fair sees that. Two, as far as the "Don't have much of a team returning" statement, we will disregard that. People say that about us every year. And contrary to that statement, we end up in the playoffs. Three, Tyner didn't lose in the first round, it was a second-round loss to DCA. Just wanted to clarify that. Milan didn't make it to the semifinals last year, they got put out in the second round and CPA got put out in the second round. So if you want to go by "playoff standings" We have a state team, state runner-up, and 3 Quarter-finalists. So it's not so surprising that there is a team that lost in the 2nd round in the Top 5, is there? Nah, didn't think so.

All I can do is laugh at this comment. This is not about Boyd being better than Tyner cause they are not I am just saying that Tyner isnt the best 2A tema in TN. All the other schools I mentioned in the previous post are public schools and I can assure you that not all the region 3 teams will beat Boyd and honestly I hope they put the worst whipping on the bledsoe boys.

Also, I would just like to point out that I feel a little desperation on this comment. By the way, BBuc24, who ever said that Tyner was the best? I believe that Murphy Fair simply said that we were Fifth best.

  12. ...Fulton's Coach called it the 'pole-cat' /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />

HAHA! The "Pole-Cat"...regardless, Tyner has quite a bit of momentum built up, I believe. And most, if not all, of these Rams haven't beaten McCallie yet in their High school careers. Don't get me wrong...McCallie HAS played some great teams...but I think the Ram Train keeps rolling! And everyone talks about the RUN game of Tyner, but the Passing game has slowly, but silently and surely, stepped up a lot from what it was early in the season. I hope McCallie isn't only looking to stop the run...They might just be suprised come Friday night...

  13. I love Marion County Football. I have a lot of friends in South Pitt and only hate them one day of the year. Including the wife I married from South Pitt. South Pitt wins this game and I hope they win it big. Tyner is big but South Pitt has more heart and are more disciplined. I hardly ever say this but, "Go Pirates" I'll be in Whitwell watching the big purple kill whitwell.

Wooooow!!! somebody actually said this? About th Rams? We may lack a lot of discipline (unfortunately) but one thing we have plenty of is heart...Case in point, the Knox-Fulton Game...And now that it's over, the South Pitt game...

  14. I have to say Tyner...Obviously, I'm biased as I'm a current player. We are looking good in my opinion. And trust, we have not forgotten that or winning streak was snapped last year by Boyd, but that is game 10 and we are taking this season one game at a time, but I hope everyone is ready for the Tyner Ram Train this year!
