Congratulations to Larry Ricker, former head coach at South Greene, for being inducted this year into the TSSAA Hall of Fame.

Update on Morristown West schedule: Game against South Greene in Greeneville has been canceled and will not be made up. The Lady Trojans' return match in Morristown with Cleveland has been moved from Feb. 12 to Monday, Feb. 8. The schedule on coacht has been updated to reflect the changes.

The main news source I always used for the Big 8 was tricitiessports.com. However, it is a subscription site. So, I guess it boils down to how bad you want that information. You can also check the websites for the Johnson City Press and Kingsport Times News. I am actually surprised the Big 8 doesn't have more support on this website with their scores and such. I know the Science Hill and Dobyns-Bennett people try to keep their stuff up to date. And all the credit for the stuff I post goes to other people. Coaches and media outlets all over help me gather the information to keep the District II, AAA, scores and schedules accurate.

Haywood, The Morristown West/South Greene game has been scratched again. Morristown West is having to play a make-up home game with Sevier County on Thursday night. I think SG may have a make-up that night as well. The two teams are looking at playing next Thursday, Feb. 11. However, nothing is even close to official on that at the moment.

Monday's Seymour @ Cherokee game has been moved up to a 2 p.m. start for varsity girls. Boys will follow at 3:30. Sevier County @ Morristown West has been postponed. No makeup date announced. However, been told there should be an announcement on this Monday morning.

Senior Taylor Hall at Morristown West High School deserves a nomination. She was one of three finalists last year for the award, and has not showed any signs of slowing down this year. She leads the AP #1 team in AAA in scoring (20 pts), rebounds (10) and steals. She recorded the first quadruple-double in school history this season (15 pts, 10 reb, 10 stl, 11 ast). In 20 starts, she has a double-double in all but three games (and those were ones where her playing time and scoring were cut short by blowouts). Other accomplishments: * 2008-2009 season - All-State honors; District II, AAA Player of the Year; District II Tournament MVP; First-Team All-District II and All-Region I honors. * She averaged 20 points and 11 rebounds per contest last season. * Taylor has signed to play basketball for the UT-Chattanooga Lady Mocs.

IMAC tournament and Region I tournament are both at Morristown East this year.

Friday night's game between Morristown West and Jefferson County in Dandridge has been moved to Morristown. Apparently a pipe busted at JCHS and has ruined the gym floor. Not sure what this means for the rest of the year's home games at JC. But again...Jan. 15 Morristown West at Jefferson County has been moved to Morristown.

West High dominated Kennedy, WA, tonight 66-40. They led in the contest by 32 at one point. The team will bring home 3rd place in their bracket. Not too shabby.

Great run by the Lady Trojans comes to an end tonight against Skyline, TX. West fell 61-52. The loss snaps a 25-game, regular season winning streak that dates back to a 62-46 victory over Maryville on Dec. 31, 2008. West High has won 36 of their last 38 regular season games. They will play Kennedy, WA tomorrow at 7 p.m. ET.

Hey all... I will try to update as best I can right here....girls' games that have been played since the snow storm postponements... Jefferson County 61, Carter 32 Dobyns-Bennett 65, Cherokee 31 Cocke County 60, Farragut 55 Raiderray, in terms of the makeup dates....Cherokee and Seymour will be made up in Rogersville on February 1st. Morristown West at Sevier County has not been set, but have been told they are looking at the first Tuesday back, January 5th. No word on Jefferson County/Cocke County mainly because there is not a lot of room. According to some sources, that game may have to be played on a Saturday, forcing the two schools to play IMAC games on back-to-back nights. Morristown East was playing the Volunteer Classic. They were scheduled to face Sullivan East in the semifinals when storm hit. Been told that tournament has been canceled and will not be made up. IMAC girls' teams in Christmas tournaments include: Morristown West in the NIKE Tournament of Champions (Phoenix, AZ)- Dec. 28-31 Cocke County in the Greene Bank Ladies Classic - Dec. 28-31 Jefferson County in the Lenoir City Christmas Classic - Dec. 28-31 Seymour in the Pilot Food Mart Classic (Knox Catholic host) - Dec. 28-30 Sevier County in the Midway Christmas tournament - Dec. 28-30 That's all the info I have....hope it helps.

Scoreboard is wrong on some games from Tuesday night's action.... Here are the IMAC results for Dec. 15: Seymour 59, Morristown West 50 Jefferson County 55, Morristown East 46 Cherokee 57, Cocke County 54 Sevier County beat South Doyle 58-45 on Monday night. The game was moved up a day by South Doyle.

I was there tonight to call the game on the radio, and I must say I really enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere of the gym is great. Credit to Andy Rines and Brian Jessie. Both Seymour teams played strong, solid games. Just wanted to give some more gratitude to the administration at Seymour, especially Charlie and Gary Householder. First class all the way! Thanks for the hospitality.
