  1. Leaving out Neel from Page was a joke! Neel was one of the best all around players for three years.

While I am sure there are many deserving players, this slight is ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any word on if or where Neel will try and play at the next level?

  2. Man oh man, how I wish Pope was never built and Golden had gone to the school he was zoned for.....

But yeah, nothing wrong with a Hendersonville boy going off on a D1 team (if you can call Hawaii that) /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Haha....I bet. Everyone in the state would have offered him open arms and open checkbooks for him to come to their high school. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> But congrats Golden, keep up the good work!

  3. Rather than "dbitching about" him (Loveless) you should be "dbitching about" the coaches who didn't participate in the process.

Loveless' Coach participated and presented what he felt was his best player on the team.

Passed for 1100 yds with 11 Tds. Rushed for 600 yds with 8 Tds. 44 Tackles rotating at F/S in 7 games.

That might not be All State numbers in your eyes, (although it's not bad) but it was in his Coach's and his Coach chose to participate in the selection process.

I don't think a player who accomplished the numbers listed above is a joke.

The joke is on the Coaches who didn't support their players.

Merry Christmas To All Coach T Posters And Readers!!

No it's a joke and Loveless would be 4th string all region if there was one at best. In no particular order, the QB at Page, Lipscomb, and Giles Co. are all better and there should be no argument there. But I also agree it is a joke that some coaches decided not to participate and support their own players. However there is also some biases shown by the Spring Hill coach by not voting for some of the other QBs in his region that he knew deserved it.

  4. Well, it is just kind of funny, that everytime Franklin loses a game you want to compare them to a over rated Darren Henri team. It is not even close to the weakest 3A district in the state. How can they remind you of that Indy team when you are admitting that we are going to sub-state, which I'm not sure why you even bring that up now, Indy didn't even make it out of the opening round of the districts.

Never said it was the weakest, I said it was one of the weakest, and you're crazy if you think it is in the upper scholion of the AAA teams in the state. And sorry for the misunderstanding about the sub-state comment what I meant was we can continue this conversation if Franklin makes it to sub-state. But I'm not convinced they will.

And yes I know Indy didn't make it out of the opening round but they did go something like 24-5 during the regular season. And then choked in the first round with a senior laden team, similar to this Franklin team.

  5. I just wanted to report what we have been up to. I will send results to the paper, so they will have records. Where do i start.

Game 1 - vs Cherokee GA. Shawn Kemp and co. were pretty good. they tripled Drew all game, he had a rough time. Travis Williams had a great game taking up the slack. he got 20, and 8 rebs. We hung around with them but just couldn't close the gap.

Game 2 - vs Dorsey CA. what incredible talent. long quick, big and could play. it was one of those just grab on tight and hang on. Drew was unconcious. 67 for the game, but it was bitter sweet as they beat us 102-98 in OT. Some mistakes cost us late. Travis, and Chaz shot well, Dominique Hobson gave late support as well.

Game 3 - earlier this evening. rematch with madisonville ky. jon hood (KY signee). we were tired, ready to come home but my guys did it with style. we beat them 85-57. Luke Jensen hit 6 threes to open things up for us. Chaz played great def. on Hood, especially late, hood didn't score much the last 4 min. of the game. Drew had 39 and 18, and Perry Carter came off the bench to board and play well. flu bug got to a couple of my other guys.

Im very proud of my team, we grew up alot and learned some great lessons. now if we can just win a dist. game lol.

just wanted to give my guys a plug I'm proud of them.

Sounds like things went alright coach. Congrats and keep up the good work. But the part on Chaz shooting well, come on, stop pulling our legs. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

  6. If TACA waNTS TO BE TAKEN SERIOUsLY,They shouldn't even publicize this garbage!@ No Giles Co. players in 3A an TWO from Spring friggin HIll??????? What a load of _ _ _ _.! What about the kid from Page? Spring Hill didn't even make the play-offs! 2 from Columbia Academy in 1a?? If those 2 schools (Spring Hill and CCA) each had 2All-State players,They should have been ALOT better than Their records and cllective play-off performances in 2008! I guess it's the TACA members who are friends with Marbut.Don't give me that crap about members only voting1 Football"s not suppose to be a country club.TACA has proven what everyone else thinks about them and can NEVER be taken seriously!

    Amen! TACA is a joke!

  7. Yeah, its December 20, Santa hasn't even come yet. Talk to us in late February, early March. Don't disappear on us when we get this this rolling. We want you to come on this board and eat your words.

Trust me I won't be going anywhere. They should win their district. After all it is one of the weakest AAA districts in the state. We'll talk when they get to sub-state. But I say all of this like I am anti-Franklin, and I'm not, they just remind me a lot of the Indy team 2 years ago. We'll see.

  8. I believe 2009 could be a good one for the eagles. They return a lot of guys that got some significant playing time in 2008. The Heckman kid will finally become a senior. Yes, he is still around! I am not sure what the rest of the new region will look like at the QB position, but I would think that Heckman is the best the region will have to offer. I will agree with Indy Nation on most of what he has stated. I am not sure where Coach Eubanks will go as far as the RB position. Maybe other posters can fill us in more on that situation.

Both sides of the line should be pretty solid. Many of those guys are back, and they are not small. The name up front that many teams will get to know will be Drew Kelly. That kid is big and plays hard.

    The defense can only get better! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

I was also informed just this week that several coaches have had to step down. I was told the defensive coordinator and two others would not be back. I do not know enough about them to share much more than that, but it appears Coach Eubanks will be looking to find a few coaches.

I do think that 2009 has the makings of a really good season. Good luck eagles!

Can anyone elaborate on this or have more information to offer.

  9. I only need to use one name as an example:

    Tim Tebow.

Tim Tebow won the Heisman last year with 3 losses. Why? Because he was the MOST VALUABLE PLAYER.

I don't know how you could argue he wasn't a difference maker. Centennial's team wouldn't have gone 8-4 without Mr. Scales.

Now please, go crawl back under the rock you came from.

Amen to that. While Tim Tebow and Chaz are nothing alike, both however are or were extremely important to their team's success. Without Chaz Centennial probably does not make the playoffs. He was by far the most valuable and "best" player for that matter in the region this year. And there is no argument there.

  10. Franklin is definitely not down this year and i see them running away with the district. Hopefully they will start peaking and play their best basketball at the end of the season in the play-offs. However, if they make it to the state tournament they could have some big trouble with White Station and their two dominant players in Ferrakhon Hall and Joe Jackson. Also, Bearden could be a big test as well with big Demonte Simpson.

I would love to see Franklin make it to the state tourney. However history is not on their side in that no one from district 11 ever makes it to the state tourney (with the exception of Hillsboro in 05). I just don't see them getting that far, but we will see.

  11. Congratulations to the Players for their accomplishments....so far I have the boys from Franklin who were the runner up state champs

    Congratulations to:

Graham Nichols - Offensive Player of the Year

Cole Nathan - Defensive Player of the year

    All Region first team

    Connor Walkup - LT

    Keylo lee - HB

    Alex Ford - FB

    Nick Gordon - LB

    J.D. Jervis - DT

    Jarriel Eaton-WR

Congratulations to Ron Crawford Brentwood (Coach of the year)

Job well done...Please post other players awards if you know them...

Yes please post other names by school. Thanks

  12. Franklin threw a quick pass. Reciever went out of bounds with what appeared to be one second left on the clock. Replay showed the same thing. Oakland ran out in celebration assuming the game was over. Refs called the game. In reality one last play was a long shot, but you never know. I think the ball would of been on Frankilns own 35 or 40. Not sure about the yardline.

Did Franklin make that known to the referees that there should have been one more second on the clock?

  13. What happened to Franklin tonight against Mt. Juliet?

They lost to a .500 Mt. Juliet team. I understand Franklin has some people out, but let's be realistic Franklin is not unstoppable. And because of that they will NOT make it to the state tourney. But no team in dist. 11 (with the exception of Hillsboro in 05) ever does and the streak will continue this year. Franklin needs their football guys and everyone else who is injured to get back and in a hurry. I see Franklin losing some district games as well this year.

  14. not really a big deal for the freshmen. Great he put up 18 and 12. But just wait until he is going up against the like's of Haddix, McMillan, Kelly, Teichmann and so on. He will probably have a rough time against all the d-11AAA teams except for Hillwood.

His accomplishment should not go unrecognized. However you are right the competition at the schools before mentioned is much better than that of Page High. Time will tell.

  15. I expect CHS to be down quite a bit. Losing some amazing talent!

I think that is a very valid point. Now I do agree what Coach Mat is doing is a good thing and overall the team is improving, however with the loss of Chaz that hurts and is irreplaceable. When I think of the best skill position football players to go through Centennial I think of Curtis Steele, Philip Bates, and then Chaz Scales.

  16. In a weak district Franklin should and will win it. However I am more skeptical about them against the likes of a team like Maplewood in the region tourney. I never said Franklin was bad, I am just skeptical that they may have the attitude that a free pass will be given to them to the Boro, and unfortunately that's not the case. Time will tell. It would be nice to see a team from dist. 11 go to the state tourney.
