  1. ensworth's rushing offense will obviously tear mba apart for a considerable portion of the game, but i don't think they will be able to pass on mba very consistantly and now that they don't have tavarres at qb to run options i don't think they will be able to score anywhere near the number of points they put up on mba last year. especially if joe riegle spys on orleans like he did to the maplewood running back in the 4th quarter (he ripped mba up until then).

mba tore ehs apart with their passing game last year and i think they will do it again considering tanner and mobley had huge games last year versus ensworth. bars at te is also a huge upgrade from last year considering sloan was hurt by the time mba played ensworth last year. fitz is an animal in the running and passing game and i bet he racks up atleast 2 td's with tanner/mobley probably racking in another 2-3 td's.

fletcher is also a huge weapon for mba (if they can get a good snap and hold).

  2. as bigreddad said, the game was terribly officiated.

ravenwoods fans were really disapointing for all the hype rappy gave them. mba's fans had more character and intensity.

mba could have easily blown that game out more than they did as they had some big drops, one being an easy touchdown, but a good win to have while playing mediocre football.

ravenwood played well, their running back is very elusive and their qb is very scrappy and tough.

  3. If you think MBA fans aren't going to be loud, you have another thing coming. I was at the Hillsboro game just as a neutral fan and have to say the MBA fans completely destroyed Hillsboro who you said were good fans earlier.

Also to talk about the game, MBA has a great balanced offense with a smashmouth, playmaking defense. Ravenwood is not going to be able to stop them on either side, and looking at their stats against BHS, their QB was 4/11 passing. If they cannot pass against MBA, they cannot win. Running will not get much of an effect for Ravenwood. Hillsboro had to resort to passing to stay in the game with MBA.

MBA will keep on rolling and ignorant Ravenwood fans such as Rappy will be heartbroken. I almost feel like paying the money to watch the expressions on their faces.

I'm normally not the one to bash people on coach t, but Rappy was too ignorant for me not to comment.

  4. BA is having a down season thus far. They have a couple new coaches who are excellent, but bring complicated schemes with them. Coach Elliott is one of the best defensive coordinators in the state as he showed at MBA last year, but it will take a little while for BA to completely pick up his defense, but once they do they will be hard to beat. Their size is remarkable one both sides of the ball. Their lineman are all huge and getting major DI looks.

With that being said, they are certainly going to have to play their best game of the year thus far in order to beat a powerhouse such as Prattville.

Also to comment on MBA, they are clearly the best team in Tennessee this year bar none. Maryville could maybe hold that title if they would ever agree to schedule MBA, but they always refuse.

Best of luck to both teams, and I hope that BA is able to represent Tennessee well in this game.

  5. Whoever said Bubis has not done anything this year has obviously not watched him play. First of all, his main job is to clog holes and make easy tackles for Knight and Bartholomew and he still has managed to accumulate a very impressive number of TFL's and sacks. He had, I believe 4 sacks last game, and numerous numbers of knockdowns/hurries on the quarterback. He is going to hold his own once again against Ryan playing of the most demanding positions on the field.

Just the thought that Mix and Goodrum playing in the game, eventhough Mix played in the last meeting, will cause any drastic changes is humorous.

This game is going to be decided on the first two drives. If MBA shoves it down their throat like the last meeting, expect another blowout. If Ryan is able to move the ball and stop MBA, expect a much better matchup than last time.

In the end however, MBA will make its way to State to meet BA.

I'm standing by my earlier prediction,

    MBA 24

    Ryan 0

  6. I like that idea. As to the the above poster, I guess you deserve your own opinion, but I would like to say Kevin Mix will be back for this game. I think he will make such a greater difference on defense with his senior leadership. He is a smarter player. I hope the lines shows up as well on both sides of the ball, and we can move the ball on offense. Regardless, let's all show our class as flyby stated and not our ***.

Kevin Mix, the same guy who got dominated all game and eventually injured by Wesley Johnson. I'm not trying to hurt anyones feelings, but nothing about that matchup is going to change. EJ and Christain will have another dominate perfomance and FR's offense is way too one dimensional to move the ball against MBA consistantly.

    MBA 24

    FR 0

    This is MBA's year

  7. Yeah absolutly obliterating them?? Watch the game closely and you will realize that MBA's line was the cheapest line. They held every single play on offense.

Preston Bailey is the cockest man. Beating your chest??? Get some class. Thats not the only personal foul they should have had either. He is big, yes. Not SEC talent though, along with #2. #2 didn't do anything but a few 2 yard gains. Must be the last name for #2.

I'm pretty sure if they held every play, the refs would have noticed. MBA's O line is the best in the division and no one can deny that.

Accept the loss, don't bring anyone down anyone on an internet forum. Telling Preston to show some class and then calling out two 17 year olds on the internet. Real cool man.

  8. The last 10 meetings between MBA and Ryan had an average final score of 30-9. I was not in attendance of any of those. Maybe they seemed "very close".

MBA has easily manhandled Ryan every year but last, when they still won without a quarterback and key RB and every other possible position injuries. Last year Waddey, a RB, lined up at QB every play and would take a snap and either run left, right, or up the middle.

Back on topic to this years game, MBA will win by 10+. Their line is too strong on both sides and their defense won't allow more than 10 pts. Wise, Bartholomew, and Vinsang will put up points for MBA.

  9. Thank you Brandon, that is a relief.

p.s. I am a 2-sport athlete at BA. I came my 8th grade year because it was a good academic school and because of its reputation as a great athletic school. Although I was a standout athlete in middle school, winning all-tournament honors on the junior varsity team as a 7th grader, I was never approached by any coach. When I asked to speak to the coach of my favorite sport, the only thing he said was to warn me that it would be difficult. I am now a senior and am good friends with many of the athletes who supposedly were "recruited". They have told me their stories. None were recruited, and I am extremely sick of that accusation. We have better athletes. We have better coaching. We work harder. We win games. Get over it.

    Very modest I must say.

When i played football in 6th grade, Coach Montgomery from BA took me and another one of my teamates to BA to workout with him in their new weight room. I don't know what some consider recruiting, but this was certainly an odd experience.

  10. Will Bowers hold out Orleans for the JPII game in order to get him to full strength for the Father Ryan game?? Anyone know how Jackson N. is, will he play against JPII?

Orleans? I'm pretty sure Tavarres was the player who got injured against MBA

  11. I'm curious as to who the other leaders are as well, because those two seem to be most of the production out of MBA every game.

Alfonso Knight is their defensive leader at LB along with Jas Rader and Nate Wade at both safteys.

Offensively they have Vinsang at RB, Preston at OT, Bartholomew at FB, and Andrew Harris at WR.

Spencer Wise, their QB, should be back for the game. He has a cracked bone in his leg, but it cannot get any worse from playing.

This should be a good, low scoring game. If MBA can jump ahead early, they should win because it seems to take CJ over 2 quarters to wear down the defense and begin to break big runs.

    MBA-20

    BA-14

  12. Jefferson came to Ensworth after a tragedy to his family, wanted a fresh start. He went to Oak Ridge in Middle School.

    Anderson went to Ensworth Middle

    Darkwa....not sure?

does anybody know any sure facts on Preston

preston will most likely be rotated in and out against ensworth

  13. Im not trying to spark an argument but if you have "raw talent" doesnt that mean you have potential?

the best example i can come up with is, a 5'10 lineman lineman who dominates in highshool will get nowhere near as many offers as a 6'5 lineman who does well in highschool but isnt a standout in every game. the 6'5 lineman will get recruited, bulked up in college and turn out to be a good collegiate player while the 5'10 player will probably get zero to no offers eventhough he was clearly a better highschool player.

  14. scout rates jordan the 23rd best running back in the nation, and has gotten offers from Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Auburn, Georgia Tech and Tennessee. i dunno i might be an idiot but those schools seem pretty "big time" to me

sure they are big time, but preston was getting offers from Michigan, Florida, etc.. basically wherever he wanted to go. I was not bashing CJ, i was just stating that people look for potential in recruiting more than just raw talent.

Knee brace. Typo, calm down. And no one directly answered my question so I'm assuming that he's not playing in the game.

    i answered your question

  15. K your right

i was wrong about bailey but stillsay he shouldnt play with that injury

but Bartholomew ... idn ya he is big but he isn't SEC big

UT lacks of playmakers and he certainly will not be one in the SEC(offensively or defensively)

    MBA 35

    EHS 41

    both defenses will face problems

Your ignorance is amazing. Ben is a lot bigger than his brother was and Will did extremely well at UT. I doubt you have seen him because whether it's in person or when he's on the field, he looks like a monster compared to the people around him.
