  1. #85 barely makes the field goal to break the tie and win the game. He only makes it because the goal posts bow down to the mighty CAK. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> I do like your posts, sometimes the sarcasim gets pretty thick and I rarely agree with you, but differences of opinion is one of the things that makes this board so entertaining and informative. Boooooring for everyone to agree on everything.

My son's jersey has his name on the back of it, "Dad's Son". Actually, the name on the front and on the helmet is all thats needed, team first you know. Its more fun to let you do some detective work and figure it out. I'll point him out to you in person at the game tonight. I'm sure you will run into me if you get near the concession stand.

i actually wont be there since its practically in another state. those mountain people scare me.

  2. Earlier (way back at the beginning of the season) I posted that the CAK girls would win state. Got alot of heat about it for some reason, lots of people yelling at me that the irish were gonna win. Im not here to rub it in people but after a 6-0 victory it really is hard to stop a moving train. So I guess with that said, albeit there is still one game left i deserve an apology from all you irish fans giving me crap about it. Thanks

  3. Let's not exaggerate there, Conig. Plus, I will be the first to admit that with skill, luck helps out a bit, too!

Also, to all... you guys know that there also is the good chance that this isn't even a CAK fan whatsoever. A couple of years back we had someone posing as a Catholic player talking smack and they were from a totally different school. The more I think about it the more it makes sense that this could be the case. If not, well, I'm wrong (and have been wrong before and will again). If I am right (which I think I am) it makes pretty good sense. Remember, it is EASY to hide behind a computer screen...

so if i talked trash about cak would you think i was a fan of cak? and about your other point...you say im like pumping nd up? and making them wanna play harder? the only time we'll meet is in the state tournament, so shouldnt they wanna play as hard as they can anyways? I dont believe anything im saying should make a team not play hard against somebody then wanna play hard against somebody else. If thats the case, they shouldnt be in the field.

  4. Wow, thats a sweet ananlogy. NOT!! /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> Bolt is a world champion and is the fastest man in the world. The CAK girls are good, but thay aren't as good as Bolt is at running. Think your comments out before you write them. The reason you are getting "reprimanded" is because the comments you say are ridiculous. Maybe you need to go find a new place to talk about sports and whatever else you talk about.

okay maybe my tactics are a little off but i have an extreme confidence in these ladies. as for you govols you had a prediction about cak in the football forum that was a bit off. Remember that this past year I correctly picked the these teams to win it all....the new york giants, the kansas jayhawks in college basketball and just so i had another correct prediction notched in my big confident belt, i even predicted that the celtics would win the nba championship. but govols theres no need to tell me to go to a new place. Im comfortable right where i am.

  5. ok so im not quite understanding of this? I somehow still get reprimanded for what i say although what i said was totally fine. Humble Pie? Anybody see Usain Bolt? He doesn't know what humble pie is but he's sure as heck good and he'll be the first to say it. Ill say it again CAK's girls soccer team is to soccer as Usain Bolt is to Track&Field.

  6. ill have to disagree with your comment coniglio, teams dont have "chances" once they get there. You make it sound like they flip coins and who ever gets it right moves on, as for being full of myself, not so much...just confident. in my picking. oh and thanks for giving me the option of backing out but i dont think i will. thanks though. ill buy you the hannah montana cd with my winnings though. as a consolation prize haha

  7. oooooo baby id take those odds. If your gonna ride the catholic train, with all due respect, your betting on some young players!! and plus cak has had their number for a long time now and i dont see that changing much...as for ND they might be good but I still see that CAK train rollin and running over anybody in their way! The starters never have to play the second half because they have built such a big league by halftime...5-0, 6-0. I will say though, and G-money, you can help me on this one dont they play faragutt or bearden this year? that will ultimately be their toughest test! Other than that, get the champagne ready baby!

and by the way we talkin, the deed to my house money /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> , not some drop top stang money.

  8. I've got my money on cak to win a/aa again this year. disappointing last game for the warriors last season, but i think they might go undefeated and not just undefeated, i mean win every game. Hoffman will be all state, you can count on it. The back four defenders, Pearson, Jernigan, Belk, and Denton, will make it seem as if CAK doesn't even need a keeper. Watch out for Julie Thompson shes as deadly as a center mid as there is in Tennessee. Her sister Mary Thompson is also a great player not to mention on the other side of the midfield with Ruthie Edmunds being as stellar as she's been her first two years. Really, unless they ALL (and it'd have to be EVERYBODY including Head Coach Nathan Pifer and Assisstant coach Christa Bennett) get strucken with the Flu or Malaria or the West Nile Virus or Pneumonia (you catch my drift) there's really no stopping this group from bringing home a 2nd state championship in 3 years. Plus CAK is on a state sports title (in anything) since Boys Soccer brought home a state championship in 2007. Rare for CAK not to win a state title in anything for 2008 but that will change this year. Good Luck girls (even though i think thats the last thing you will even need)

  9. 5 turnovers and you only lose by 7 points? CAK got lucky they weren't playing alcoa this week, because 1. Alcoa would have torched them for 80+ points with sloppy play like that, and 2. well it doesnt matter how cak plays against alcoa cause they'll get torched for 80 points anyways. #29 for CAK is not to representing of his school for getting tossed like that. It really is pitiful to have a classless person wanting to grab all the attention like that. As for the game, like i said 5 turnovers a game and cak will be lucky to pull out 2 wins this season. boyd is no powerhouse and i cant say caks defense was that great anyways. All they did was run the ball and cak still couldnt win. Cak is a tad overrated especially looking at all they lost from last season, still ranked as high as they are...but what can we say its only a game into the season. better fix those mistakes though.

You might wanna actually do some research on your team. I know you have a bias since you play for them but be realistic...you looked like a complete idiot for posting what you posted 41-14? As far as im concerned, "the best cak has ever had" threw 3 INTS and totally screwed that game up. Might wanna pick up some pointers from some last seasons film. 21-14 is not an indication of the game at all. Very misleading. Nice job with the ejection too cak. REALLY CHRISTLIKE..............

  11. what about cak finishing 3rd in that 4 by 8 anybody have them beating any team from the middle section? NOPE! 2 sophomores and 2 freshman. I'd watch out for us next year and then the next. Just chucking that out there. oh a 7 second pr is kind of fishy seeing as how you were running with nobody.

  12. In my lifetime, I dont think ive ever heard the term used by any coach of any sport say that losing IN A CHAMPIONSHIP GAME oh and LOSING 7 STRAIGHT to A RIVAL is like getting a monkey off your back. Maybe if it wasnt to end a season. I know John Wooden never said, "MAN AM I GLAD I LOST THAT NATIONAL TITLE GAME, NOW WE CAN GET BACK TO BUSINESS!!" What business is that? summer vacations? days on the lake? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

  13. Here's the intriguing part about all this...I wonder what excuse the KNS will write about CAK not winning a state title this year. Doug Liedle and his collar bone injury? Brandon Tarr and his hand injury that would somehow affect his killer throw-ins? A kid forgetting his pair of compression shorts and instead having to wear briefs instead, causing him to not be on his A game? Its quite comical actually. I'm taking bets on how many of the BOYS cry after the game. i say 5 to 7. Take off your crown CAK....your head was getting to big for it anyway.

  14. you know what track program doesnt get enough credit? the Christian Academy of Knoxville. Located in the heart of East Tennessee the Christian Academy of Knoxville is no track program to be taken as a joke. Being a local reporter for the Knoxville News Sentinel, I cover a lot of area high school prep sports in Knoxville and not one school in the area intrigues me like this school. Coached by 3 of the fiercest coaches in Tennessee, this program is not one that lolligags during practice or ever has a "bad" meet. From a former SEC 800M champion, to a woman who still owns (AND I MEAN OWNS BY A LARGE MARGIN) the high jump record at oak ridge, to a coach who rides his bicycle to meets and practices from his house in the great smoky mountains, they bring to state some of the finest athletes that Tennessee has to offer. None better then the MEN'S 4 by 8 team. A group of talented, handsome, intellectual, kind-hearted, perservering, loyal, honest, respected, comical, young, hardworking souls, who have stolen the hearts of the community of east tennessee by never backing down and never letting up. They might not have the accolades to quite stand up to what the CAK Women's 4 by 8 team has accomplished, but i guarantee that, if the two teams raced, the Men's team would win just because they want it more and have the hearts of warriors. Ironically, that is the mascot of CAK, and there was no intentional play on words. These men go above and beyond of what is expected of them. They are always the last one's to leave the track, because they always end each practice sitting in a circle, indian style, getting to know each other more. Some of the questions they ask are what are each others favorite flavor of ice cream is, what there favorite part is in The Notebook, and just questions that i wish some of my coworkers and i could ask each other /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> Anyways, emotions aside, the CAK track team also has other athletes going. Their taking a B 100M dasher dancer prancer vixen comet cupid donner blitzen. a G 300M hurdler, a G long jumper, a girl high jumper, a G 4 by 800 metereor team, a G 800 metereor, and 2 (yes 2!!) B pole vaulters. I wish all of them luck and to have a safe trip to the BORO.

  15. What a workout today, my goodness and right before the VTC tomorrow, but ill tell you thats why we have one of the fiercest workouts in america. We started out with a 12 lap warmup, then we stretched, did our plyometrics, went to the weight room did 3 sets of squats at 400-450 with a 5 sec rest. then went back outside and ran a 100X1600 in 4:20-4:25 with a 3.1424231892 sec./pi rest. then a 5 mile cool down.

  16. I don't think anyone is going to write off CAK. I think you make a great point when referring to the Chargers. Good players step up when their go-to guy isn't in the game. I am sure that you will have your kids more than ready to embrace the challenge, and I know your kids are probably more than willing to prove that CAK is more than just Brandon Tarr. (I actually thought your team played some of its best games last year when you had to deal with his absence). Furthermore, I have always thought that CAK is the quintessence of the word "team."

Best of luck to Brandon. I am sure he has made a smart decision. All kids need a break; it prevents a burnout.

well if you take the goals brandon scored in the state tournament and subtract them from the 5 cak scored in all, you get 0. brandon is the best forward they will ever have and no one can just step up and take his place. thats crazy to think that. by the way the chargers lost. so i dont get the "parallel"

  17. Catholic held on for the win 49-46. It looks like the football kids are still trying to get there legs under them. Ryan Walden( 16 points) and Michael Conaty (15 points) combined to score 31 points. Taylor Broussard came up with some big three pointers in the game. Once the chemistry gets to clicking the Irish could be very dangerous.

why even say that, cak has had their football players with them just as long as catholic has.

  18. Before you whine about the celebration, may be you should preach some sportsmanship to the Catholic players and fans who planted their flag in the middle of AE's field when they won earlier in the season.

Anyway, it was a great game between both teams. Even with the injury's, the Catholic kids that stepped in played hard. This may be sterotyping the programs, and no disrepect is meant, but who would have thought that the game would come down to Catholic's kicker missing some extra points and AE's making them.

Congrats to Catholic's season and good luck to AE against Fulton.

how did i see this coming...catholic never seems to win during the playoffs.
