  1. This is such a tragic event. Tears came to my eyes when I read that the young man's father said that his son died doing something that he loved and that he was a Christian and he knew that his son was in heaven. Amazing poise and class at a heartbreaking moment. God must truly be with this family. May the Prince of Peace our Lord Jesus Christ be with the family and all involved with the Sullivan South football program. I have always found them to be very classy. I will be pulling for the S.S Rebels the rest of the way.

    Prayers from Morristown West.

  2. Will Brooks Fullback from Jefferson County High School has commited to University of Chattanooga Tennessee on an athletic scholarship. Brooks, who had 2 consectutive 1200+yds rushing seasons, came highly recommended from a few coaches at rival schools in the east tn area for a fullback/linebacker position at UTC. I'll not mention the names to avoid any issues, but thanks for the recommendation. Way to go Will!!! Good luck at UTC!

Congratulations to him. He is one heck of a player, and from what I understand is a great kid also. Good luck to him at UTC.

  3. The rumbles we always heard in Morristown during his tenure and since the announcement that the OR job had come open again is that Don Woods would apply for the job. Well, it was confirmed to me by one of the Knoxville television sports anchors with inside info on the search. I don't know where he is in the process, but since they have started interviews, I would say Woods has interviewed or will be doing so in the next few days. Take it for what it's worth, but this would be a fantastic hire for Oak Ridge if they get Woods.[/quo

No disrespect intended, but you better check your source. I know Coach Woods has not applied and is not interested in the Oak Ridge job.

  4. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. That's what these boards are for, right? But I couldn't agree less with you on this subject. Loyalty to the school is critical for the players, alumni, and parents. But for the coaches it is a job. It doesn't mean they don't love the kids or appreciate the school and administration, but it is still their JOB. Just like most of us that post have a job. My place is to do my best for the company I work for as long as I work there, but if I get a better opportunity, my first responsibility is to my family, not my boss. If my boss wants to keep me around enough he'll make it difficult for someone else to hire me. If I have a better opportunity somewhere else than my current employer I should consider it. Whether it's pay, location, opportunity for advancement, etc. I can't imagine that you view your job situation the way you suggest a coach should look at his. At least I hope you don't for your sake. Once again, just my opinion. Your mileage may vary.

    Good post.

  5. Thanks for the well wishes. We will need them. I wish Greeneville fans would keep their predictions off this board. Maryville has already proven themselves time and again. Why stir up the pot with a bunch of bs predictions. It will be a great game either way.

You are right about the predictions, it only makes things worse, espescially when you are playing a program that hasn't lost a game since 2003. However, I guess some people can't help themselves.

  6. ^^ Maryville has ZERO players that can really compete at the D-1 level. Still, I don't see how Greenville will score 17 on Maryville. We have given up 17+ points only ONCE all season long. That was to Central and they had to get two touchdowns against our 2nd and 3rd string in order to get to 17. Clinton came close to getting over 17 points this year. They had 16. All of their points came against Maryville's 2nd string defense in the 4th quarter. Not a single team this season has consistently driven and scored on Maryville. Some teams have gotten the better of MHS on a play or a drive, but they are usually shut down completely after that.

So what makes you think that Greenville will be different from the other 13 teams Maryville has played and destroyed this season?

Having seen Maryville up close several times since 2001, I say it will be very difficult for Greeneville to score over 17 points. Not impossible, just very difficult. They make virtually no mistakes and swarm to the ball. Just my 2 cents.

That being said, I wish Greeneville the best.

  7. You seem to forget Jordan is just as apt to take off running as throw the ball...so lets count.

    1. greenway passes to 5 receivers who are capable of circus catches when necessary. 2. Trevon Hall runs and is just hard to tackle. 3. West keys on Hall, the secondary executes their pass coverage, and Greenway runs 4 or 5 yards.

D-U-A-L threat means he can do both.....back to class terrell.

Not really sure that is Tyrell posting. It doesn't sound much like him.

  8. East will travel to Volunteer this week. I have tried to follow Volunteer this season but our local paper does not cover them. Other than scores and knowing they are young, I do not know much about them. Any VHS fans want to give me the scoop?

I don't think East will have much trouble. Volunteer is well coached

and plays extremely hard, but they are young and probably don't match up physically

    with the Canes just yet.

  9. This ort two be a good gaim....Butt eye'll go wif my good buddy transplant's Trojuns......Since tha naim of this thread iz "LET'S GET IT ON"".....Will both teams enter tha stadeeum wif Marvin Gaye sangin' in tha background......??????......... /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

    I love Marvin's music, but I don't think that song would be the best choice! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
