  1. Logcabinman,

No doubt the baby blue will be improved, and will likely compete with the lesser teams on their schedule. But even the most quenched Kool Aid drinkers can't really believe Central is ready to compete with the likes of McMinn.

When did McMinn become Alcoa or Maryville??? Last years game with 2 minutes to go McMinn was only ahead 19 to 7. They scored late to make score 26 to 7. With the exception of Sanders McMinn lost EVERY kid that carried, caught or threw the ball. BUT, enter in the 2 transfers from Walker Valley and Dalton and McMinn is looking ALOT better than what they would without them. None the less, McMinn would still win anyway just because of depth taking over in the 4th qtr. McMinn SHOULD NEVER lose to Central and won't this year. But don't kid yourself, McMinn is no juggernaut. Especially without the 2 transfers.
  2. YES!!! Another Central thread!!! Can you guys please hold on a minute while I go get my popcorn??? Hold on, I will be right back............................................................................................................................................Ok, I'm ready :popcorneater:

  3. There will be no difference in last years schedule and this past year. Home/Away is all. I agree six but I see seven. I have been looking at some of the kids (sophmores to be juniors) and I see more bulk on their frames. I am ready to see what happens in the spring.

Is it true that Central agreed to play McMinn in Athens from here on out? I have heard that from several people. If not true, then it should be in my opinion. The visitor section at Central is a joke to begin with and with the crowd this game brings the more seating the better.

  4. It sounds like that there are some kids going to play this year who have not played in the past. I hopethat this means good things to come for the Chargers. Any thoughts?

Yes, I have a thought. It's "McMinn" not "McMunn" :roflolk: Just messing with ya. :thumb: On a serious note, how many new kids and who are they???

  5. This Englewood team is for real (in spite of one asssistant coach :D ), and have pulverized many teams from the same areas they'll be playing against in high school. They annihilated an undefeated inner-city team from Chattanooga so bad that their coach finally took his team off the field in the 4th qtr.

Will that translate into a district championship for these guys in high school? Who knows, but it certainly can help, especially when you combine the talent from Etowah coming in, along with the solid freshmen and sophomores on the team.

Yeah, that one asst. coach would do good to spell football much less coach it. :roflolk: (I can't wait till I see him again so I can tell him about the love he's getting. )

  6. It really blows my mind that these two teams cannot come together as one.I never will understand it!

I used to be the same way untill an Englewood parent broke it down for me. 1. A player can not turn 14 before August 1st and play for Central. But they can Englewood. So, if a player is held back for any reason he will be too old his 8th grade year for Central. Which is really crazy to begin with because this player will still be eligible his senior year. 2. No weight limit at Englewood. If you weigh over a certain amount at Central you can NOT carry the ball plus only a certain number of these kids can be on the field at one time. (Why any team is Centrals league wants to play with these rules is beyond me. This is football not sweater knitting.)

  7. Yes Englewood did destory everyone they played,But they don't play anyone that is good.Alot of things can change from 8th grade to senior year,I guess we will have to wait and see.

You didn't see the Englewood Central scrimmage did ya? I used to think the same thing about Englewood till I watched them scrimmage Central. Englewood would have breezed through Centrals league with maybe the exception of Loudon and Loudon would have to have packed a sack lunch and wear hard hats to beat Englewood. Don't let their league fool ya, they are for real. :thumb:

  8. Well said Blitz, this post is very similar to the one I posted last week. Posts like this get looked over because of the reasoning and rationale. You cannot rationalize with irrational people. At least someone on here shares my thoughts about the situation. IF next year is not good (without attrition and with some additions) then coaches should be accountable.

*Still hoping what I've heard is true. If so, once again, LOOKOUT CHS!

Ok, I'll bite.....what have you heard??? :popcorneater:

  9. Some of these Polk fans are so used to having "their" officials calling games for them, they think it's the norm for all officiating crews! :thumb:

Come on blitzinbuc, every team can run a play from midfield with 18 seconds on the clock and run the ball inside the 10 and still have 18 seconds on the clock. Wait a minute that's Meigs, no it's Polk, no it's Meigs, good grief I have seen it at both places. :roflol:

  10. I have sat quietly by and and let some yof you experts spout off about what should be done, but I draw the line when so called grown ups start commenting on and calling out the kids! Marc and the coaches can take care of themselves but some of the cracks on these kids are totally uncalled for. I know some kids left but I applaude those young men that stayed out and payed the price they did to finish what they started. Win or lose games, these kids are not losers in the game of life. I hope the underclassmen will follow the lead of these kids and stay the course, and I hope the staff encourages these kids everyday to finish what they start. I know the coaches care, no one is hurting anymore that they are about the results of the season, but I belive in giving folks the benefit of the doubt. There is no doubt that the team was better this year than last, as far as being competitive. To the coaches, keep working, keep growing in your knowledge and encourage the kids walking the halls to play... todays kids sometimes want to be wanted so all I am saying is it is not illegal to "recruit" kids that are already going to the school!!

:thumb: Easy elhosel. You don't want to confuse these "Legandary Coaches" with something like the truth. I don't think they can handle it. :thumb:
  11. Yes, their Athletic Director needs to have a Talk with Mr. Cagle...Bigtime, especially if what some of these Mcminn fans have said about it happening all year...And one players nickname being that of Personal fowler? come on lol That is just getting redneck with it, sorry lol

"That is just getting redneck with it" WOW, and just think, all these years I have been told Central is the "redneck" school in the county. Oh, the scandal..... :o

  12. Again, if this "incident" did happen, and like people are saying that it did, you would think the newpaper, TV, school admin, school board, etc. would be all over it. Just strange, very strange that CoachT seems to have exclusive rights to this story.

I wasn't gonna get involved but seeing how this is picking up steam I'm going to explain what happened as it was explained to me by a former coach who stays in contact with the other coaches. This was supposed to be a joke. The senior was supposed to run at the freshman growling, yelling ,screaming and when he got to the freshman was supposed to barley touch the freshman. However, just like anything else in life there is always one "bad apple." The fourth or fifth senior decided to really punch the freshman causing the uproar. The coaches DID NOT tell the seniors to hurt the freshman but this one kid decided to take it too far.

  13. Went to one Football game this year and I like the way the guys played. Truth is, Central IS a young football team, whether you want to face facts or not. 2009- Senior Overload; 2010 - Freshman Overload; 2011- Freshman/Sophomore overload. That is only two years in a row, not 3! I think Charger999 was right, got to keep these kids interested in Varsity sports their Senior Year. Next years team has a ton of key Seniors that need to lead this team. If this team stays together and the kids come back, then look for next season to be much better. A coaching change, imo, would hurt our chances next year. The problem, in my experience, with McMinn Central Football has been coaching attrition. Nobody stays long enough to have a true "football program." If you look, when coach Derrick left, that hurt! When coach Wilkerson left, that hurt! When coach Sanders left, that hurt! When the offense changed philosophies in 2010, that hurt! Much better philosophy this year from what I've heard, this offense almost gave Central its first 1000 yard rusher in 16 years? (correct me if I'm wrong) The kid was hurt in the first quarter of Sweetwater game. If not, he breaks the 1000 yard mark then. Why in the world would you want another coaching change? If you say, well they're horrible coaches, then tell us what you would have done different. I like the fact that Central WAS competitive all year. The improvement from Freshman to Sophomore year looked, from one game, to be very good. Next year Central looks to be loaded with Sophomores/Juniors with some Senior playmakers and a good freshman class. Should be a fun few years folks. If this coaching staff can not win with what they have coming into next year, then I would have to agree that it is coaching and change should happen.

  14. There is no reason for coacht toshut this down. all i was asking fr is comments. Nobody has to be so hostile. Nor does BallCoach93. But Charger89 is quick to jump the gun on this topic. all i asked for is comments and answers. if you dont like this thread, coacht is not making you look at it. But i guess since Charger 89 has so many posts, he has nothing better to do. Im new on coacht and ive heard alot of talk in Englewood that there might be a caching change. Just friendly conversation Charger89

First of all it is 89charger. If your gonna call me out at least get my name right. Second, I have so many posts because I have been on here for 4 years. Third, why are you calling me out??? I said nothing about not liking this post, I was having fun with ballcoach93. Any way, welcome to coachT. As far as your question about the coaching I have no idea. But I have another question. Will all future incoming freshman be issued cast iron "protective cups?" :roflol: I know, I know..........too soon. :flower:

  15. There may be more interested in that job than poeple think. From what I know of what happened on the last day of practice, All of the coaches should be let go!I was very disappointed of what went on.

I know I'm gonna regret this, I know I am, but....................what happened???

  16. Is his dad the Simbeck that runs McMinn Fire? If So how long has he been a pastor I remember him from 20 yrs ago and would of never guessed he was a pastor. But regardless Looked like Bradley quit as a team and thier play calling was terrible in the second half they ran the same 2 plays for all the 3rd and beginning of the 4th. Copeland is left handed and they ran everything to the right until they were so far behind they could have caught up if they got 12 points for a td, refs were bad but there was alot of no calls and Mcminn played way more physical than bradley that usually gets more flags in high school. Weather seemed to effect Bradley with holding onto football when hit hard but 2nd fumble Bears running back stripped it from the qb. Mcminn played like it was thier rival and bears played like they did a few yrs ago. Tackled like they did againt owls on tv, terrible play calling and turnovers plus Mcminn hitting them in the mouth = Blowout.

No, the Simbeck that coaches McMinn Fire is his uncle. :thumb:

  17. McMinn had to play Maryville twice a couple of years ago. The Rebels soundly beat an injury-plagued McMinn team early during the season, but McMinn got better and better through the season and gave Maryville a good scare in the playoffs, eventually losing 20-12 in Maryville. After the state playoffs I had an opportunity to talk to Maryville's head coach Quarles and he said McMinn County was the best team they played in the playoffs - no question.

Regardless of which team goes up against Maryville, it will be the end of the season for either McMinn or Bradley. Book it!
