  1. Once again it is always someone elses fault. Listen if your school system would fix its other problems then some of those kids would stay put. Unfortantaly you guys keep wanting to point at AHS and MHS as your problem when it is your school system as a whole that is the issue. Again it starts at the top and works its way downhill leadership is where it starts hiring the right teachers and coaches. :bored:

You are probably right becauase the two school systems you are talking about have the best teams that money can buy,if more money was available we could make the needed improvements at our schools. If this is all about money and leadership in the school systems those changes will not happen soon. One thing that can change is the policy of taking kids from outside your school district so you can pump up your athletic teams,I believe that should happen in college not in high school.

  2. I reckon they will have to seeing as how you guys cannot do it. Get over your pity party and build your programs.

There is no pity party here,we would build our program if players stayed put.I know most folks at Maryville and Alcoa like to keep the blinders on and think that they would be just as good without transfer players. If you really believe that quit taking them for a while and see if you keep repeating as state champs.

  3. I apologize for my miswording. Maybe coward wasnt the best word to use but I cant think of anything else to use. Why else would you end a football rivalry after years and years of playing? Its not money. The gate is going to be higher for an Alcoa-WB game then a WB-Seymour game. Its not a record thing because WB hasnt really improved on their record since dropping Alcoa from their schedule. I guess we can say it was a cheap move because with the BC school dropping Alcoa due to their success it really put Alcoa in a hard spot and a great financial one having to travel or pay teams to travel to play us.

As for the basketball comment, I dont see why Alcoa should play WB in anything. From my knowledge WB was dropped from most if not all sports because of their refusal to play in football. It was an eye for a eye thing. All 4 county schools should play each other in all sports necessary.

When all of the teams play with kids that should be going there then they should all play each other. If Maryville and Alcoa want to continue to go after all of the tallent then go play with Webb and the other private schools.

  4. You need glasses. That was #23 you were watching in the 4th qt not #33, and also not that you even deserve this info, but that wasn't an onside kick...trust me. I know. Think about it...would it have been so high?

    [/quo

Young was in the game late and no reason for it.That is a good way to get your star hurt probably should have been giving younger guys a chance.

  5. Heritage has been able to surprise Farragut at home in the past, that is something that they can take with them this week. Each week has had a lot of what ifs, there is no doubt that if Heritage does not have its best game of the year they will not be able to stop Farragut. Somebody said it earlier that is why we play the game. Heritage players and fans lets keep believing.

  6. Heritage went into the Seymour game with high hopes of being 4-0 coming into this game, with or without that win they will play Maryville tough. We need to work on more balance on offense, sometimes its ok to run the ball. Defense played hard just on the field too long. Focus is still a problem dropping passes missing tackles that needs to stop this week and a win is possible. Lets keep the support up the stands should be full for this one.

  7. Well 72...since you brought it up Alcoa did have 3 starting OOZ players on the defensive line with one being a South Doyle kid. On the offensive line your two best offensive lineman are OOZ players. One touted as the best in the state and the other, IMO, is a better blocker starting in the interior O-line. I watched him absolutely dominate everything Maryville through at him last Friday night. Your QB....didn't I see him at Heritage a year or two ago?....

Here is the OOZ players main contribution to the COA. Alcoa always has and always will have home grown athletes to fill the skill positions. In the last few years most have been home grown with a few exceptions. The biggest benefit to Alcoa is line quality and depth. Alcoa has almost always struggled putting together a strong and deep line, something very common with smaller schools. With the large influx of OOZ players they have successfully answered their line strength and depth voids.

    Very well done Alcoa!! :bored:

What's even better is Alcoa has so many recruits now, they can send them off to other schools.

Heritage's starting QB was an Alcoa QB........

WB's starting and 2nd QB was an Alcoa QB's......

And where did Maryville's 2nd team

"red shirt" QB play....oh yea.........Heritage! :bored:

I love it when Alcoa's OOZ players beat Maryville's OOZ players! :bored:

Nice try BC but another fanning. That 2nd team QB lives in the city of Maryville and always has. The WB and Heritage QB's are county kids.....would that be correct?

Pretty weak try BC....actually very weak. Now run off and do some photoshopping. Certainly your strength....... :motorbike:

I do not understand why factual information seems to bother you so much. Does that burst your

"poor little bitty Alcoa" theory that you and your Alcoa brethren trot out so often? It's just a fact that regardless of Alcoa's enrollment numbers their ability to take players from anywhere for a minimal tuition creates a situation that nullifies the enrollment numbers. Even your head coach hilariously trots that myth out there every chance he gets. ...... :roflolk:

Maryville supporters understand that advantage. We once enjoyed the OOZ players, though not even close to the number that Alcoa has, and it is a big advantage. BTW......I didn't see anywhere that recruiting was mentioned......except from you.

It must be tough to take when you get beat by a team with kids from outside their zone.Maryville and Alcoa have been winning with this method for years, to hear both sides point fingers about how it is an unfair advantage is funny.

  8. I know Cermak is a very good athlete but he is not the only one that will be on the field for Heritage. You are right about needing more than a quarterback the one they had a couple of years ago set new passing yardage records for the school and they still struggled. Its time for the kids that are there now to step up and take their shot. There have been good teams at Heritage in the past and there will be again.

  9. After seeing how many Heritage players were hobbling around at the Mcminn game I am not sure they can beat the govs. This game means a lot to both teams Heritage has not won against the govs for a long time, so that should be their motivation. The govs want at least 1win for the year and keep the streak against Heritage going. I hope the Mountaineers come to play and come away with a much deserved win for them. I think Heritage wins 21 to 17.

  10. your kidding right? 43 didn't jump off the ground and step on #1 Friday night. He got flagged for it. I don't blame #1 for going after him.

I must have missed that also, but it was obvious that number 1 and number 5 did their fair share of talking and pushing after several plays. If the refs had stepped in sooner and got control of the game it might not have gotten out of hand.

  11. Heritage needs see what a win feels like again. Like a lot of teams injuries have hit this team when it really did not neet it. It is a lot easier to get fired up when you win some games, when you keep having seasons like these boys have gone through its tough, but they keep coming back week after week, that shows heart and determination. Losing can be as contagious as winning if that is all that you see. If they can start this season over with a win this week and then the next 2 they can finish the season with the best record they have had in a while and that could be carried into next year. I think it might be a close game, Heritage 21 Bradley 14.

  12. I don't believe Heritage has ever beaten the Owls since this region was created. Ooltewah will have far more athletes. It should not be a competitive match up. I'm not trying to be mean spirited, but this is the worst AAAAA team in east Tennessee.

It must be hard to watch football games so high up on the Ooltewah perch. I don't think that Heritage is the worst team, they have a number of good athletes. If they ever put a whole game together they will be able to compete with any of the teams in this region, that would include the owls.

  13. I think I am going out on a tiny limb all alone and saying "Baby Blue & Scarlet by 1 over the mighty Red Rebels...... /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

I will go out on that limb with you. Maryville has proven to be unbeatable for there last 63 but somebody is going to beat them, Heritage fans need to show up and support their team because the record will end soon.
