I see now, this is a common practice at Maryville to allow the actual Maryville kids time to catch up to the transfer players so they can get some playing time.

If a child is held back because they are not keeping up with there peers in class, or they seem to struggle with the social aspect I think it is ok for parents to hold kids back. If it is done just to let them develop physically or to wait for a spot on a team to open up it is wrong, as parents we are supposed to prepare them for life after school and for most football will not be there future. I don't understand how holding them back is good for the school like you said unless the only thing that matters is to keep the dynasty alive.

Is it ok to hold kids back just because they have not developed enough to compete or start at Maryville.

Thats what William Blount thought before they played them, as tough as their defense is they didnt slow him down much.

I guess it shows more class to keep starters in with a 35 point lead and the game in hand. When they did sub and Heritage moved the ball too easily the starters came back to try and save the shutout. Maybe the Govs will develop some sort of sportsmanship themselves if they continue to win.

I was at the game and did not see the cheap shots you did. I guess we should not try to hit the other team when we are playing football. I was able to catch many missed calls on both sides,many of which allowed the govs some big yardage and scores.

I hope WB players are as over confident as everybody else talking about this game. Heritage will be playing for a chance to do something not many teams have done to the govs this year, which is to give them a loss. We have not done it for years but if you have watched any football this year you know that anything is possible. Go Mountaineers!!!!!

Heritage should have won there last game against Mcminn, they played one of the best games of the year against them. This week we hope to see the best game and an upset.

The Mountaineers will need a mistake free game to win this one.But they can do it.

I guess we will have to wait and see. One thing is for sure we will not go into this game thinking that way. We will come to play every Friday no matter what the record looks like.

The Mountaineers have been their own worst enemy most of the year giving up the ball and the big plays. If they can elimiante these problems I can see them playing with any team in this region. They just need to believe they can do it,like all of us that support them. Go Mountaineers

I guess the numbers don't lie, I am just glad the game will be on the field and not in math class.

It will not get any easier having Oak Ridge next, but we are not going to give them the win just yet.
