Don't know about Montgomery but expect them to be the team to beat in the district.

Collinwood should be the team to beat .  They have almost everyone back.  Montgomery was district MVP last year and with W. Pigg, T. Roberson, P. Risner, K. Ray, A. Littlejohn and others they should be very hard to beat. 

 

Wayne County has S. Ray, K. Kelly, J.Bevis (returning starters) with I. Powell, C. Camfield, T. Brown, and they will have several younger guys play as well.  Freshman B. Bevis, Preston Rice (starter in camp) and D. Mathis will play big parts this year.  WC could add big man Daniel Devers to the team who has moved back to town. 

 

Stown has several players back as well.  They have Luke Scott (All District) T. McGill (injured last year) Perry and a few other players (guard) that their names are not coming to mind.  Stown should be better as well.

WC  will not overlook CA no matter what. I'm sure we are considered the underdogs again and these boys seem to like that roll! Hopefully WC takes care of the ball, and do what we do best,run it right at them! WC can pass the ball pretty darn good too, if we choose to!  Thanks for your info Big Bigby!   "GO CATS"

Wayne County has gotten better each week after the BIG Flop in C'wood.  WC is 4-3 but a couple of plays away from being 6-1.  Had they played just a sloppy game against C'wood they would be 5-2 but they played the worst game that I have ever seen and lost by 6 inches.  That dropped TD pass in the endzone against Riverside plays heavy too.  Our coaches have done a great job of player asscessment and trying to get the players into position to win some games.  Looking down at the teams CA has played and looking at the teams WC has played and this should be a really good game.  I really believe with WC's progress that the Wildcats come away the the win. 

Richland is no stranger to close games or good teams. After seeing LC yesterday ill take Richland by 3..

Jacob Farrar will be the man for Richland in this game. He can shoot the 3 ball and handles the ball extremely well. He has been quite for the most part but will be big tomorrow. Good luck Richland Raiders!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Make Region 6 proud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If the Rams play tough defense, they will have a good shot at the win regardless of their shooting percentage. There has been games this year when they came out and played tough defense and shut their opponents down. There have also been games that defense wasn't a priority and we barely won games that should have been blowouts and also won games that we were underdogs.

 

My opinion is that if the Rams come out with a mindset to shut Richland down with a stiff defense, it will be a good night for GCA. Play tough defense and move on.

I haven't seen GCA play but that does not matter. I think that Richland will take this game by 10. Close game but Richland will push it to 10 late by hitting their free throws. Richland likes the three ball as well and if Cody Jordon (no relation to Mike) gets a hot streak going like he did against Wayne County, then GCA will get beat by more. Good Luck Richland from Region 6 (D12).

Great night of basketball in Lynville. WC an Cwood both played hard fought games. Really thought Cwood was gonna pull off the upset but just couldnt close it out. Richland had a comfortable lead late in the game but WC made a run and made things very interesting at the end. Now we have round 4 of Richland and Mtp. No doubt this will be another battle and should be another close game. The atmosphere should be rocking on Thursday night. Cant wait to see who travels and who hosts. Go Raiders!!!!!!!

I watched both games last night and either game could have turned out differently than it did. From what I saw, I feel that MTP has the inside game and that Richland has the outside game. Both teams are completely different with completely different type of athletes as well. I think that if Richland can keep MTP out of the paint and force them to shoot the outside shot then Richland will win this game but if not then MTP will win. This is going to be a game of athletes vs shooters. I would like to see Richland pull it out.

2 excellent ballgames at Richland.. Cwood and MTP goes to overtime with MTP pulling it out.. Richland survives a 3 pt barage in last 3 min to hang on by 1.. Raiders you guys better learn how to close out teams and hit free throws.. Go beat MTP one more time...

I will have to say that it was two good games. Both D12 teams came up a little short but fought hard until the end. Good luck D11 teams make Region 6A proud. I will say congrads to the Wayne County team for coming along way from the first of the season. You guys fought hard until the end.

Monday through Thursday games are now split so you won't have 3 pm starts to get four games in, or play to 10 or 11 at night.

I understand that, but by splitting boys & girls (sometimes you have too) you split the fans as well. Someone needs to figure out a way to cut down on the travel expenses too. In the District 12A tourney this year (Hosted by Perry County) both of the Perry County teams were put out early, and the other schools had to travel a long way to play. We had Summertown/Collinwood & Loretto/ Wayne County girls and Collinwood/Wayne County & Loretto/Stown boys traveling several miles to Perry County each night to play. In such cases as this why not move the tourney to a more local gym to finish. I really think that more people would have attended the finals had the games been closer. By splitting the boys & girls and having to travel so far it really cut the crowd down.

 

I guess that there isn't an easy way to do it but some adjustments could be made in order to help out the expense factor.

They both should be great games. I have not seen Wayne county play this year so my prediction was based only on my gut, which can be dangerous. I do believe that the athleticism of Mtp will give Collinwood trouble but it is tournament time so Im sure nerves will come into play especially in the first quarter. All I know is that this Richland team is very balanced and unselfish. Any starter can go for 20 on any given night. I guess we will find out who wants it more in about 5 hours. The environment should be a fun one for the kids to play in. Good luck to all.

I have not seen you guys play this year but I have kept up with your games and rankings. You all have had a good season so far and I've noticed that you have several scorers on your team. Look for WC to give you all a good game tonight but it will depend on which team shows up for WC.

I doubt any of us will have anything to do with the outcome of the game. I just hope that you miss your predictions or at least the Richland & WC game. I think that the MTP & Cwood game will be a very good game with Cwood coming out on top. I think that if WC comes to play, that game too will be a good game but if WC comes out flat then it will be a long night for the Cats.

Should be a great night of basketball tonight. I will say Mtp wins by 5 and Richland wins by 4, but anything can happen this time of year. Hopefully Richalnd will be on their game tonight. Go Raiders!!!!!

I have to go out and say Wayne County by 9 over Richland. Summertown gave them all they wanted and then some and they were the fourth seed team. You can bet that Wayne County and Coach Willard will come to play.

 

I pick Collinwood by 4..Mt. Pleasant better show up to play and be thinking about Collinwood not Richland. I dont think either of these games will be a blow out.

If WC players will relax early then they will have a chance. What did Stown do to hang in with Richland? It looked like Boatwright (28 points) had a great game.

I'll have to go with Richland by 2 or 3 because i believe Wayne County will stay around for a while but they really don't have enough fire power besides Sawyer Ray and Carson Kelly. The big man Zach Risner needs to play like he did back against Summertown in the Semi Finals of the D12 tourney. Good Luck to all teams.

If WC comes out firing like they did against Cully then it will be a very good game. If WC stalls around like they did against Cwood in championship then it will be bad for WC. Ray & Kelly had 8 treys between them with another by Keeton Kelly and Big Country had 15 points. Good Luck Wildcats don't let up now.

The Tournament starts on the 23rd with the higher seeds will be at home and then the Semi-Finals will be at Richland. Thoughts? Winners are in bold:

I will go with this. WC played hard last night and had about 3 chances to put the game away but Didn't Finish. WC has not blown anybody out this year and I don't see it here either. Cwood has the depth and I think that they have the talent to finish in the top 2. 11A has the odds in their favor this year though.

Which college was it that he went too? The coaches that keep the stats for that website do not keep up with blocks. He has had 11 double digit block games this year. As for him not touching the floor in AA or AAA? Come on man. He's almost 6'8". He could play anywhere in the state. Sorry for the mistaken stats. But the blocks haven't been recited on the site. If you've seen him play any at all this year you know that he averaged more than 2.2. But please do get back to me on who your nephew is and which school that was. Because I know for a fact that you made that up.

Sometimes it not about the numbers. Sometimes it is about the size. I have heard stories about college coaches making the statements that they can teach a kid to play but can't make a kid to be 6'8 or so.

 

 

By the way can you Stown folks say "BIG Country" ? Zack Risner played a great game against Stown Friday night.

I'm not sure how many are usually picked. These kids have caught my eye in the games with WC. I doubt all of these are picked just based on how many are chosen district wide. I figure Cwood gets 4 because of being #1 and the rest could have 2 or 3.

I see Seth as MVP because they are still playing and PC (Edney) is out and done now. Montgomery could be a possible but Seth stands out more due to blocks & rebounds because scoring is about even.

no need to continue, when you can only see one side of the conversation, one would think you could see that the talent and experience is just not there, and you can't fix things if you don't have the tools to fix them. Another problem for Coach Hunt for tonight is that Luke Scott has the flu and may not play at all, if so, it will be limited. Nuff said--let' just support the team tonight.

Dang............You Stown folks pointing fingures around and speaking negative about your players isn't a good thing. It is late in the season and this time of the season is what it is all about. Talking about the young guards up there, you can't expect them to start their sophmore season playing like juniors & seniors. They should be playing like juniors now and look at the experience they have going into next season.

I have to agree here. WC will win this game but its not because of "BIG Country??" It will be because Summertowns Guard play won't carry them to the championship.

"BIG Country" has played very well against Seth. He has even blocked a shot or two of Seth's. It wouldn't surprise me that WC put 2 big men on Seth early and force the guards to shoot the outside shot. I see Carson Kelly smoothering Perry and messing his shot up and if that happens Stown is in trouble.

Somebody needs to inform jim314 their brackets are wrong....just saying......why would someone put that out there if it wasnf correct?

 

That said, I think Stown is going to show up big vs WC.....I also think that Loretto shows up big vs Cwood.......Gut feelings.......your winners will by Stown by 15 and Cwood by 1in ot

WC has had Stowns number all year. The first game went to OT when WC tired to stall with a 10 point lead at Stown and WC won much bigger in Waynesboro. I think WC matches up with Stown better than anyone in the district. Zack Risner (WC's BIG Country) has played very well against Seth and held him down per say. I look for WC to win this game by 8 ( My gut feeling).

The championships are on friday and saturday----the girls semis are tonight the boys tommorow night, the championships are friday and saturday.....Regions start next week

I know that coach. He's a joke. He's not a real basketball coach. He's just an adult that goes to games with the team. He swiped a large amount of money from the team last year too.

I know some of the parents and they weren't aware of any money swiping. They spoke of him buying meals and rooms for the kids when they traveled. A couple of those kids play for Richland this year and some of them are at Stown as well. I think there were a few from the Pulaski area as well.

dude it will be CA, RICHLAND, OR MT. P, IN the state... wayne county played mt. p in their 1st game, they were learning to play together, and the other night, well mt. p ONLY HAD 8 PLAYERS, alot were out sick.. all its going to come down to is which team is healthier... mtp want get any credit ever....

Which ones were missing? I saw most of MTP's "players" there. They may have not had them all but had the ones that count. I really expect 3 teams from D11 to be in the final 4 of the region. It will depend on the matchups. If WC or Stown wins D12 tourney then you might only have 2 teams in final 4.

If any of those 12A guys want to play AAU on the team in Maury county..the coach is a friend of mine and is looking for a few players for the summer..their varsity beat the summertown AAU by 40..I can get his # if any interest

They lost to the Stown team as well. Maury County is a ways away for D12 guys to go to workout through the week. Where do they play their games? How many tourneys do they play?

I may be wrong but the Summertown FH game tomorrow may get out of hand early. The regular season is one thing but the playoffs are different. I hope coach hunt leaves the team in for the entirety of the game. Let them get settled in to PC's atmosphere. They need momentum and rythum going into Friday and they aren't going to get it by playing two quick quarters against FH after this long break.

FH gave Cwood all that they wanted for the first half of one of the regular season games. I think it was tied up at the half but Cwood opened it up the second half.
