just a little input, i know a few of the siegel players and know that their best DS is kristen cantrell, following her is bryna hoffman, and becca cutter will be a huge defense asset to the stars in the future. many plays of this match that siegel lost due to lack of defense were of pure laziness (not to be rude) but some balls landed just a step or two away from some of the back row players, there were quite a few points that if siegel was full and healthy during this match, they would have gotten (kristin cantrell) I've seen cantrell play a few times and know what she's capable of, once she is well i would hope siegels coaches would have to common sense to put her back at libero, having hofman as a DS. Many more balls will be dug up and saved if cantrell is playing. my point being there would have been many of points different in this cookeville match if cantrell has been playing, just my input, and i know many people that i have spoken to, agree with me.

It also might have been different if Siegel's libero had not of served for more than 1 player! When it was questioned, they had made the change on the court right before the ref came to scorers table. At that point, nothing could be done. This was game 5! Did she do this the entire match? Probably! It is the scorekeepers responsibility to let the ref know when it takes place. Home team keeps score and tracker. (official)

Pathetic? LOL.... Not even close .. Thats a smart move. A team knows when they are in trouble and they lean on their coach to change things up so Im sure the girls had no problem doing what they did.Flyinghigh50, Your just mad because you didn't beat them by 50 , now thats pathetic... Ive seen alot of great coaches do that and honestly if I felt we couldn't beat you up and down I would do the same If i was a coach. But a team can't make turnovers and they have to make a few baskets to be able to win. but they would be no way I would let my team lose by 50 and thats why I think the coach pulled a good move.

Were you at the game? Probably NOT!! Considering there were only 3 people in the stands from Oakland. Cookeville didn't want to beat them by 50....................22 was just fine. It was the way the Oakland players looked on the court....LOST and didn't know what to do next. The only thing Cookeville had to do after half was to make a slight defensive change, which allowed them to still play their game and Oakland was not able to play without being totally unsure of what they were doing. Patience had nothing to do with Oakland being able to carry out her game plan. So for your information, wanting to beat them by 50 wasn't erven a concern. While they were stalling the ball, Cookeville had the lead. Either way it went, Cookeville was going to beat them. It was not allowing your players to go out with dignity and knowing they played their game. I understand coaching strategy.................you still have to have the team to pull off that kind of strategy!!!

It was totally pathetic!! Oakland kept the ball at halfcourt stalling the ball. That was the poorest coaching decision I have ever witnessed. I know Oakland didn't want to be beaten by 38 pts. again, but there was a classier way to slow the game down. It was an embarassment to the players from Oakland. You're not good enough to play the game, so we will just hold the ball. Cookeville pulled out into a man to man and had 6 quick fouls in the 1st quarter. Oakland would have been shooting the bonus the 2nd quarter, but their einstein coach had them back the ball out to half court. Cookeville laid back and rested for their next opponent. 2nd half was basically the same but Oakland wasn't able to control the ball. Cookeville still beats them by 22. Good job coaching tonight Grandstaff. You played the fool for your players, coaching staff and yourself.

Believe me when i say this "trickey' no one on here is blaming the players, we are all behind you ladies win or lose. You are the ones who deserve better, not the fans, parents or people who posts on this thread.

This last post by a Warren County player, is exactly why this thread should STOP. This has been going on for a month now and the only people that it hurts is the PLAYERS. Their coaches don't read or take any stock in this. But when the players becomie affected....it is time to let it rest. This breaks my heart to hear this player take this to heart from all these posters comments about their program. It really is time to STOP!!

Good picks! I was thinking surely people aren't saying Cookeville has only 1 all-district player on their team. If that is the case, they haven't seen Cookeville play much.

i would like ask if anybody has been to jackson co. gym they made us sit up stairs.i think is wrong and rude. we have alot of older fans that shouldnt be climbing up the stairs.

When we went to Jackson Co., we sat on the opposite sides of the team. Their students sat upstairs behind their bench. We were treated very nicely and everyone enjoyed a very good ballgame. Every gym has their rival teams and act different when some schools come to town. I have seen more hostile environments. lol

Maybe Upperman might need to re-think location of the student section The visitors side isn't a good idea. Hint, nudge, hint.

Everyones students want to be behind their team benches. The students all want to stand up most of the games. The problem is when the parents sit on that particular side, they can't see the game and that sometimes causes problems. It isn't very smart when other teams parents want to sit behind the student section so they can have a back to rest on. They should be the mature adults in this senerio and not sit behind another teams students. It is much better to have the team students behind their own bench, so the players are not harassed by the other teams fans. However, every game I've been to, the other fans have in most cases have been with the other teams fans.

That was in the boys game.........had nothing to do with the girls game. Defense for WC wasn't the only thing lacking for the WC girls. Cookeville had a pretty descent game but they have played better in previous games.

The total number of students in JC's whole district is 1706. That includes Clarkrange...Clay County...Jackson County...

Monterey...Pickett County...and Red Boiling Springs. All six schools have over 300 less than Cookeville.

Why are you so OBSESSED with this? Who really cares, the game is over and Cookeville is not really concerned with JCHS. They have bigger fish to fry in District 7AAA. It was a great win for JCHS, if that gives them confidence for their District....so be it. Go JCHS.

Cookeville is a AAA school with over 2000 students. JC is a A school with less than 500. Move ins or not...Cookeville shoudn't have any trouble beating a A school.

Yes, Cookeville is a AAA school, which means there are more sports for the students to choose from there. The athletic ability is spread out among the other sports. Basketball is not every girls life at Cookeville. Like I said, Jackson Co. has a very good team. But when Cookeville gets it all together, they will be just fine. You don't beat Shelbyville by 13 with Helton in foul trouble and not have a pretty good team!!!!

Cookeville doesn't have any transfer girls playing for them. They haven't had a move in girl since Cara Reed played for them several years ago. Jackson Co. has a very good team and really outplayed Cookeville. Cookeville will get it together as a team and show alot of people what their made of. Their freshmen guard will be site to see when she gets over her jitters and just plays her game. She can truly be one of the best players to come out of Cookeville High School
