Were you at the game? Probably NOT!! Considering there were only 3 people in the stands from Oakland. Cookeville didn't want to beat them by 50....................22 was just fine. It was the way the Oakland players looked on the court....LOST and didn't know what to do next. The only thing Cookeville had to do after half was to make a slight defensive change, which allowed them to still play their game and Oakland was not able to play without being totally unsure of what they were doing. Patience had nothing to do with Oakland being able to carry out her game plan. So for your information, wanting to beat them by 50 wasn't erven a concern. While they were stalling the ball, Cookeville had the lead. Either way it went, Cookeville was going to beat them. It was not allowing your players to go out with dignity and knowing they played their game. I understand coaching strategy.................you still have to have the team to pull off that kind of strategy!!!

It was totally pathetic!! Oakland kept the ball at halfcourt stalling the ball. That was the poorest coaching decision I have ever witnessed. I know Oakland didn't want to be beaten by 38 pts. again, but there was a classier way to slow the game down. It was an embarassment to the players from Oakland. You're not good enough to play the game, so we will just hold the ball. Cookeville pulled out into a man to man and had 6 quick fouls in the 1st quarter. Oakland would have been shooting the bonus the 2nd quarter, but their einstein coach had them back the ball out to half court. Cookeville laid back and rested for their next opponent. 2nd half was basically the same but Oakland wasn't able to control the ball. Cookeville still beats them by 22. Good job coaching tonight Grandstaff. You played the fool for your players, coaching staff and yourself. Good job Lady Cavs!! Keep up the good work!!

This last post by a Warren County player, is exactly why this thread should STOP. This has been going on for a month now and the only people that it hurts is the PLAYERS. Their coaches don't read or take any stock in this. But when the players becomie affected....it is time to let it rest. This breaks my heart to hear this player take this to heart from all these posters comments about their program. It really is time to STOP!!

Good picks! I was thinking surely people aren't saying Cookeville has only 1 all-district player on their team. If that is the case, they haven't seen Cookeville play much.

When we went to Jackson Co., we sat on the opposite sides of the team. Their students sat upstairs behind their bench. We were treated very nicely and everyone enjoyed a very good ballgame. Every gym has their rival teams and act different when some schools come to town. I have seen more hostile environments. lol

LOL....................have you been to White Co? They make you sit up there on 1 side and their fans take 1/3 of that side. Amazing......talk about RUDE!!

Everyones students want to be behind their team benches. The students all want to stand up most of the games. The problem is when the parents sit on that particular side, they can't see the game and that sometimes causes problems. It isn't very smart when other teams parents want to sit behind the student section so they can have a back to rest on. They should be the mature adults in this senerio and not sit behind another teams students. It is much better to have the team students behind their own bench, so the players are not harassed by the other teams fans. However, every game I've been to, the other fans have in most cases have been with the other teams fans.

That was in the boys game.........had nothing to do with the girls game. Defense for WC wasn't the only thing lacking for the WC girls. Cookeville had a pretty descent game but they have played better in previous games.
