Probably gonna catch crap for this, but I actually don't think WH is a bad team. They just weren't ready for the buzzsaw that hit them in the first quarter.
I think they will be fine and probably still finish 2-3 in the region.

33-10 BDP showing some fight. Terrible cheap shot on fat cat though
-
So ummmm....33-3. Go Jackets

To talk the talk you got to walk the walk and in a few hours we will be 2 stepping up and down the field like we do at every stadium located off of highway 76!
That's funny cause Springfield has won 3 of the last five games. But whatever.

Then only keys to the game for Springfield is the keys to start your cars and go home. There is zero chance they beat us..we throw over top of them all night. And we shut down SCARY cat once again. Hopefully this year supermans powers will stay with him so he will at least play more than a quarter.
Thinking this guy is a troll. If you really are a WH player and have nothing better to do than post on here with that kind of arrogance then I like the Jackets chances a lot better.

Fellas, fellas...who gives two craps about last year. On to this year.
Tough to tell about WH this year because the teams they have played are not great.
I think Springfield is pretty good on offense, and can strike quickly. Defense is still a work on progress, but did improve against Station Camp. I definitely think the Jackets are more battle tested, and have revenge in mind. Should be a good game, can't wait til Friday.
-
So who are are the playmakers for WH? Last year the had a really good reciever, the Drake kid, that hurt the Jackets several times. Is he back?
As for the Jackets, I think the tough schedule plays off this week, and the Jackets jump out early. My pick 34- 17 Jackets.

What is the Coopertown high?
They're taking a dig at coach Wilson, who came from Coopertown Middle School. Basically saying "this ain't middle school ball."
Some people have a short memory. Can't win them all. Springfield lost to a better team last might, but will be better come playoff time because of it.

Good game. Clarksville has a good football team. We had no answer for the balls to those stud WRs. And the QB was a baller.
Still think the Jackets are gonna be tough to stop in region play.
-
I was very impressed with Hayes at QB. He has really improved his passing. All but 2 or 3 throws were on the money. Plus he is gonna be dangerous running the ball...he was a step or two from breaking a long run a couple times. Don't think any of the region teams will have the speed on the outside that Gallatin had last night.
I was pleasantly surprised at the Jackets ability to run up the middle. They were hugely outsized on the line, and missing the starting fullback, but were still able to make some hay up the middle.

So I never heard how CPA scrimmage went. Did they Jackets hold their own?

Yes all of Greene Co is opened zoned. Greeneville, North Greene, South Greene, West Greene, and Chuckey-Doak are all opened zoned schools
What is the "fee" to go out of zone?
-
Not trying to make excuses or stir up anything, just curious...is Greeneville open zone like Alcoa and Maryville?

Good points as well, but I really believe his heart is fully in at Springfield, this is the job he had his sites on when he got into coaching, unless maybe he is looking to coach in the college ranks which I believe he could if he wanted as he is a very good coach, still early in his career though. No guarantees of course but I would be surprised he he left Springfield for another highschool job anyway.....
I would be more worried about his brother Drew, who runs the defense, taking a head coaching job.

Congrat's on the win 'Jackets! Y'all beat a very talented team last night, but I'm sure that you know it by now...I love to see "team" triumph over talent, because it's the right way to play the game. Not disrespecting your kids at all...you have to have talent to get close to where you all are now. I'll be pulling for you in the 'ship...keep playing like last night and anything can be done!
P.S. Show your coaches some love, 'cause they'll be coming for him!!!
Coach Wilson is Springfield area born and raised. Started a middle school football ball program at one of the feeder schools, and given his heart and soul to the program at Springfield for the last 7 years. I doubt he leaves.

Anyone know if this game is on the radio or online?

I have a feeling the Jackets beat a better team last Friday night. However they could have easily lost that game. Springfield has not played their best football. My prediction is Springfield has a breakout performance, and wins this one comfortably to land in the semis. I say 34-13. When is the last time a Springfield team has made the final 4?
-
When is the last time the Jackets have given up points in the 2nd half? Seems like it has been a while.
-
Can we take a moment to stop and appreciate that this is the Jackets 3rd straight quarter finals appearance! Coach Wilson and staff are building a strong program, and doing it the right way.
As others have mentioned, you don't get an award for going undefeated in the regular season. He schedules tough non-region games that get them ready for this time of year, and here they are again with a reasonable chance to make the semis for the first time in a long time.
Springfield has always had athletes, but Wilson's teams are well coached, and well prepared each week.
Many folks were sceptical when he got the job, that he could transition from middle school to high school ball. He took some lumps in his first several years, but now we fans have expectations of deep playoff runs year in year out. Good luck Jackets the rest of the way, and many years to come. #SPT brand.

We are A LOT like what you saw for two years. Defense stouter and passing game a little better
But run game not as good as in previous several years imo.

Was hoping for another shot at WH.

Wow Jackets pull it out. Don't punt to them. So how did WH JS turn out,?
-
Yep. Lexington is good. Gonna take a monumental effort in the 2nd half from the Jackets.
-
Can't make the trek tonight...is there a place I can listen online?
Go Jackets!

Yeah it's gonna take a monumental effort to beat Springfield in region play this year. They just have such a balanced offensive attack.
The defense is still a work in progress. Looking forward to seeing the rest of district teams play. Portland, CW, MC all seem improved.
