Then only keys to the game for Springfield is the keys to start your cars and go home. There is zero chance they beat us..we throw over top of them all night. And we shut down SCARY cat once again. Hopefully this year supermans powers will stay with him so he will at least play more than a quarter.

Thinking this guy is a troll.  If you really are a WH player and have nothing better to do than post on here with that kind of arrogance then I like the Jackets chances a lot better.

  2. Fellas, fellas...who gives two craps about last year.  On to this year.

Tough to tell about WH this year because the teams they have played are not great.

I think Springfield is pretty good on offense, and can strike quickly.  Defense is still a work on progress, but did improve against Station Camp.  I definitely think the Jackets are more battle tested, and have revenge in mind.  Should be a good game, can't wait til Friday.

  3. I was very impressed with Hayes at QB.  He has really improved his passing.  All but 2 or 3 throws were on the money.  Plus he is gonna be dangerous running the ball...he was a step or two from breaking a long run a couple times.  Don't think any of the region teams will have the speed on the outside that Gallatin had last night.

I was pleasantly surprised at the Jackets ability to run up the middle.  They were hugely outsized on the line, and missing the starting fullback, but were still able to make some hay up the middle.

Good points as well, but I really believe his heart is fully in at Springfield, this is the job he had his sites on when he got into coaching, unless maybe he is looking to coach in the college ranks which I believe he could if he wanted as he is a very good coach, still early in his career though. No guarantees of course but I would be surprised he he left Springfield for another highschool job anyway.....

I would be more worried about his brother Drew, who runs the defense, taking a head coaching job.

Congrat's on the win 'Jackets! Y'all beat a very talented team last night, but I'm sure that you know it by now...I love to see "team" triumph over talent, because it's the right way to play the game. Not disrespecting your kids at all...you have to have talent to get close to where you all are now. I'll be pulling for you in the 'ship...keep playing like last night and anything can be done!

P.S. Show your coaches some love, 'cause they'll be coming for him!!!

Coach Wilson is Springfield area born and raised. Started a middle school football ball program at one of the feeder schools, and given his heart and soul to the program at Springfield for the last 7 years. I doubt he leaves.

  6. I have a feeling the Jackets beat a better team last Friday night.  However they could have easily lost that game.  Springfield has not played their best football.  My prediction is Springfield has a breakout performance, and wins this one comfortably to land in the semis.  I say 34-13.  When is the last time a Springfield team has made the final 4?

  7. Can we take a moment to stop and appreciate that this is the Jackets 3rd straight quarter finals appearance!  Coach Wilson and staff are building a strong program, and doing it the right way.

As others have mentioned, you don't get an award for going undefeated in the regular season.  He schedules tough non-region games that get them ready for this time of year, and here they are again with a reasonable chance to make the semis for the first time in a long time.

Springfield has always had athletes, but Wilson's teams are well coached, and well prepared each week.

Many folks were sceptical when he got the job, that he could transition from middle school to high school ball. He took some lumps in his first several years, but now we fans have expectations of deep playoff runs year in year out.  Good luck Jackets the rest of the way, and many years to come.  #SPT brand.
