  1. I can understand that Raider76. I am glad to help where I can. I plan to have the coaches poll included with the weekly inidividual rankings over at the TWF site. The goal is to include the weekly coachs poll below the individual rankings, that way there is a posted history out there. I would have them up there this week but sadly Hamm and I haven't gotten a new set together. Just not enough results coming in.
  2. Not going to touch the Legman - Walkenvol comment but I agree that Keller and Leen are probably about the same right now. Big difference between a fat and happy Keller and a lean and mean Leen (hehe see what I did there /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> ). What do you think Jordan is going to weigh when he is completely done with his competitive career...
  3. I know it was a joke/ hypothetical but my guess is Leen wins due to the size disadvantage there. Keller was a top level 133 while Leen is still a top level 157 pounder. Small size differences can be overcome but not 20 pounds at that level.
  4. Love the first sentence! One of the best quotes ever. I will stay away from the rest of the post because I learned a long time ago that BCB iii is nothing but a troublemaker... matter of fact there is an entire topic on it!
  5. Well you know you need it before you can even start posting... oh wait that is the other board... doh /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />
  6. Ok yeah the engineer in me would have found that insulting as well /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> . Carry on, just leave the boys out.
  7. Boys please heed the advice of someone who obviously has a clearer head...
  8. You shouldn't talk about Jose that way, his head will get bigger /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  9. Probably once our beloved DI ranker gets a chance to update his rankings. I am sure one of the delays is that the match results are not getting posted and sent out! Unless you want the rankings to look like the BCS you guys better start getting those match results out there! I have the DII rankings updated (for the most part) and once the DI come in I will get them posted.
  10. Being a math teacher I know you will appreciate this Hamm: The transitive property does not always apply!!!!!!!!
  11. Small correction and added info: 75 - Tate Robinson (Wave) over Jacob Travis (Sunset / Ultimate) 82 - Jacob Freeman (Sunset / Ultimate) over Mikey Harmon (Wave) 90 - Baker (Wave) over Akers (spelling?)(NCW) 98 - Mosley (NCW) over Hataway (Wave) - you had Mosley at the wrong weight - this was a tough bracket as Hataway beat Agnew in the semi's. Lot's of good kids in this weight. 106 - Marchetti (NCW) over Little (Heritage) - I am pretty sure this is where Marchetti was, I assume you had the result correct with Little beign defeated, I know Little was in the finals because he defeated Johnson (Wave) in the semi's 112 - Davis is correct but don't know the opponent 130 - Benito (NCW) over Kramer (Wave) I have brackets at home but they are sporadic for most of the upper weights and wouldn't be any help as we didn't take anyone over 158 and he was a first year so didn't make it far. Cox, BTW, nice talking to you at the tournament. Sure we will see you around again soon. I wish you and your brothers well just no more upsets against our seniors please /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  12. Raider76, I am sure you already know this but just to clarify, those are not my rankings. That is the TN State Coach's Poll.

  14. Not sure. I imagine out of the recent bunch of college wrestlers that Phillip Simpson was ranked somewhere in that range his senior year when he finished second at the NCAA's but not sure exactly where he was at prior to the tourney. Also I think Jordan Leen made it up about that high last year at one point.
  15. I just wanted to add in that it doesn't worry me so much that the refs had their rule books out and were looking things up. From my view point, that is a good thing. At least they were interested and trying to learn and improve. Nothing worse than when an official even refuses to consult the rule book. I have sadly run into that many times. I would be even more concerned if the reffing was that bad and they weren't looking for things in the rule book!
  16. Slight correction, Kevin Mix was not a state champ last yaer. He lost in the finals to Darius Williams. Tremendous wrester, but not a state champ... yet. Congratulations to Cleveland, nice win.
  17. Huge win for Condon and a very nice pick-up for UTC that I hadn't heard about. He should fit in very nicely with the program they are building there.

  19. I am going to add one in there for you: If you like to watch the middle school kids compete and are in the Nashville area then head on over to Freedom Middle School on Saturday for the Sonic Invitational. Going to be a very quality group of teams competing. This really is one of the best collections of middle school kids at the same tournament that we get in about any year. Even though I get to be at this great tournament in a lot of ways I wish I could see the Soddy vs CBHS dual tonight and the Soddy tournament tomorrow!
  20. I have to agree about the program at Peachtree Ridge. Goodfolks! Coach Danny was one of the assistant coaches for my team when I was in high school. Great guy to be around then just as he is now. When they were up at the Black Horse a few years ago he and I had a good chat, always nice to see old faces. So needless to say they have a small TN connection as well.
  21. Or the guy that has to start of the season favored, last years 103 state champ Mr. Baucke. However, the birds (and they are reliable birds) tell me that Carlos Calloway will be battling it out at 103 this year.
  22. Sadly no I do not. I would love to have it as it has a even more specific DII ranking impact (or at least clarification). Oh and just so you know, it was your beloved coach who gave me the scores. I tried looking at the tennessean's website but couldn't find anywhere that it seemed they would list scores. Plenty of good articles but no scores... /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> can anyone help?
  23. If I can make a comment. I wouldn't suggest trying to rank middle school wrestlers. I think it is a bit too much pressure to put on them. Let them get ranked when they compete at the high school level. Their job in the middle school is learning and I just don't think that most kids at that age could handle knowing where they fell in the state rankings (whether it be low or high). Yes there are some kids that are mentally tough enough and prepared for that but by and large they are not, hence why I cringe whenever anyone mentions rankings and middle school wrestlers. If you really want to find out who some of the top kids in the state are I would suggest that you come to the Sonic tournament on Saturday. Seems to be that the majority of the top kids teams / clubs will be there. As a side note: Tyler Davis is no longer among the top TN middle school wrestlers. He is now among the top Washington middle school wrestlers. He is missed.
  24. Not to bring it back up but I will clarify something. Pirani is no longer the head coach, he stepped down last year and became an assistant, same as this year (along with picking up the middle school program, tough job to do both... I know). The head coach is now Kurtz and he was the one quoted in the paper.
  25. I received this a little while ago and it is a bit more clear on names and results so I thought I would put it out here: Blackman 60 Pope John Paul II 22 103- Drew Heath (Blackman) by forfeit 112- Justin Buchanan (Blackman) by forfeit 119- Thomas Garbarino (PJP) maj dec Eric Feuerbacher (Blackman) 9-1 125- Mike Morris (Blackman) pinned Braxton Gerald (PJP) 1:11 130- Weston Lycyzyn (Blackman) pinned Brandon Gerald (PJP) 1:06 135- Ryan Nell (Blackman) pinned Danny Morgan (PJP) 1:43 140- Will Replogle (PJP) pinned Steve Jones (Blackman) 3:44 145- Anthony Tall (PJP) pinned Cody Morrow (Blackman) 3:44 152- Cole Wigger (PJP) pinned Omar Arce (Blackman) 3:13 160- Joel Westberg (Blackman) pinned Matthew Lambert (PJP) 1:45 171- Jess Patton (Blackman) pinned John Hendley (PJP) :20 189- Josh Patton (Blackman) pinned Chad Hooker (PJP 4:17 215- Randy Sihalath (Blackman) pinned Robert Bowman (PJP) 5:05 285- Adam Wells (Blackman) by forfeit Blackman 24 Father Ryan 54 103- John Maurizi (Ryan) by forfeit 112- Eric Feuerbacher (Blackman) pinned Chris Campbell (Ryan) 1:24 119- Justin Buchanan (Blackman) pinned Shane Quillin (Ryan) 3:32 125- Mike Morris (Blackman) dec Chaz Griffith (Ryan) 11-8 130- Weston Lycyzyn (Blackman) pinned Jonathon Lee (Ryan) 2:37 135- Cody Austell (Ryan) pinned Ryan Nell (Blackman) 3:17 140- Dustin Hussey (Ryan) pinned Steve Jones (Blackman) 1:05 145- Patrick Marchetti (Ryan) pinned Cody Morrow (Blackman) :45 152- David Anderson (Ryan) pinned Omar Arce (Blackman) 1:56 160- Miller (Ryan) pinned Joel Westberg (Blackman) 171- Michael Goodrum (Ryan) pinned Jess Patton (Blackman) 1:39 189- Josh Patton (Blackman) dec Wesley (Ryan) 7-2 215- Clanton (Ryan) pinned Randy Sihalath (Blackman) 5:45 285- Norcross (Ryan) pinned Adam Wells (Blackman) 3:57
