  1. Are you sure it's not Michigan State? Inside joke between us.
  2. Gannon is serious about closing the camp after 175 register. Several of my guys thought they would wait till the day of and walk in. They were very disappointed when they had to turn around and walk away. Great camp last year I'm very excited about Coach Brian Smith coming this year. I have been involved in several of his clinic sessions, anyone coming to the All Results camp will be in for a great treat. With the Lee High coach coming back and Smith I can't wait. Just don't be boneheads like my guys and wait too long.
  3. Sorry NSBS I had no involvement with this tournament. I spent the weekend at region 9 tournament with Clarksville High. But thank you for thinking about me.
  4. No in same weight classes they were seeded all the way out to 8th.
  5. APSU doesn't want the tournament there. Clarksville approached them, they wanted nothing to do with it because it would mess up Coach Loos's basketball schedule. As always APSU let's the world pass it by and then tries to play catch up. Who is running the APSU team and where are they working out?
  6. I leave you with this final thought and I'm off this thread. While attending the early bird tournament, with it being my first middle school match, I thought the refs were first year TSSAA refs. As I typically do with young refs when they make a bad call or miss interrupt the rules, I waited for the match to be over and talked with the gentleman afterwards in the hall. I explained to him why he made the wrong call and what the right call was. The AAU ref response to me was "Oh well it's not like I'm wanting to be a TSSAA ref or anything. But thanks." That left me with a bad taste in my mouth for AAU refs. And was the reason for my vote against the AAU refs. The same gentleman who left me with the feeling that it was ok to miss calls or not know the rules as the above situation really was, because he didn't plan on becoming a certified TSSAA ref, it was only middle school turned out to be the head ref at the final tournament. His lack of knowledge or rules of wrestling almost caused one of my kids to be injured. When I demanded that a hold be stopped and walked out onto the match, his response was wrestling is supposed to hurt. Later once I calmed done and talked with him and demonstrated the same hold he agreed with me in front of the other AAU refs that it was a dangerous hold that was being applied with the risk of serious injury in the manner the kid was attempting. So I have to totally disagree with your post, and liking it to a teenager telling me he knows everything.
  7. No need to call Bill I communicated my point through our email voting. I knew what I was walking into. The point of my post was to inform you that Clarksville was not for using AAU refs, and didn't want to be referred to in that way. I have a lot of experience coaching been doing it at the high school level for the past 13 years, but I'll be the first to tell you I couldn't call a wrestling match well. I know the rules inside and out, but become very distracted even in our wrestle offs. It takes a special person to be a ref, just like it does to be a coach. That??™s why the TSSAA guys are a better choice. The conference choose differently than I did, I gave it a try. So just don't use us as an endorsement.
  8. Clarksville did try it, they voted against it, but were out voted. There is a reason TSSAA trains their refs, monitors them, and has an assigning official. I agree that there will always be some refs that may need more training but I am very happy with their organization. I understand the reason for wanting to save money because the AAU refs don't cost as much, but remember the old saying you get what you pay for. I did not like what I saw and would prefer people would not use Clarksville's name as a supporter of it.
  9. What league does Dickson wrestle in? What other leagues for middle schoolers are out there?
  10. With the long arms you had I suppose it would be pretty funny. I used that one again today in fact. I still have a website but I found a great parent to run it. Right now Coach Jordon has me focused on the future and we have started a middle school program at Richview. Check it out at www.richviewwrestling.com . There is no way I can think about doing anything else right now. I haven't been duck hunting in 2 years, and haven't even made it for deer season yet this year. I'd rather watch my two girls perform their tricks on the jungle gym. Enjoy changing diaper every hour right now. That’s the easy part, just this week alone the girls have written all over the walls for the third time, Zoe turned the kitchen faucet on and flood the kitchen, Lilli let the dogs loose, Lilli got Melanie's makeup and fixed her sister up the TV the carpet, and the cat. Zoe got stuck between our mattress and the footboard. And it's only Tuesday night.
  11. I guess I said it one too many times. Yes I'll be there Wed and Fri I work at the Fire Dept on Thanksgiving. Jordan always practiced the day after Thanksgiving, until I took over and went duck hunting that weekend and when he came back he liked my day of rest. He has decided to go back to his old ways. Good to hear from you Michael. You just can't imagine how your life has changed. Mine are 3 and 2 and every day it just gets better and better. I know it's hard to understand that right now, I couldn't but it does. Lilli my 3 year old loves to watch old wrestling tapes. Mat Wizard she has been watching some of yours in fact. She asks to watch the wrestling bears as she calls them because they look like two bears fighting. The only problem is she is getting in trouble at Nursery School for wrestling and being too aggressive. So you may want to wait a little while before taking yours to his first match.
  12. I'm excited about the match. I for one will never let CHS ever overlook Kenwood. If we can push them into becoming a great team then they will push us to do the same. I think Kenwood's heavy is the best in the state. In fact I wish I could turn the time back and see him wrestle Jason Pennington. Their middle weight I'm sorry I don't remember his name except it starts with a B is really good as well. He reminds me of a sponge because he just absorbs any attack and is very flexible and can do some unorthodox wrestling. As for the rest of the team Kenwood is filled with athletes. So I'm sure Campbell has a mat room full of great kids that are excited about wrestling. From what I read it sounds as if they are really working hard, which is great. Not sure why we are wrestling so early in the season, but I guess we have to wrestle some time right. It will be a fun night god matches always are.
  13. Golfen You said it yourself this is a private board and if you feel like you have been wronged and need to talk with someone about it go ahead. I don't have a clue who you are other than your son is a 12th grader, and would rather not know. You have upset me with your posts. You admitted that you told your son to do something in retaliation to what Kenwood was doing to him, which is cheating and unsportsmen like and if caught only hurts the entire team. You enjoy picking fights which is fine that’s what most of the teenagers do on here. You are complaining about the politics in high school football and can’t wait to find out if there’s any in college. And you want to threaten me with censorship. Should I go on why I do not like your post’s?
  14. Golfendaddy I'm just glad your boy will be moving on next year. I hope he gets a full ride some where and I'll never have to read your posts again. I got excited when you stated you were done, but talking about blowing smoke you just can't keep your mouth I mean your fingers still can you?
  15. I'm the wrestling Cobb. I stand behind my post if it bothers you. I'm easy to talk to and find I'm on the mats.
