We played pretty good and were nsync. I think the West Greene game is behind us. I look for the Landers to put a good one on Avery. They don't like gettin' hit and the Landers are hitters.

Yeah, thats a pretty good whipping. Hampton will probably dish out a few more as the season goes along. I can't wait to play Avery next week. How do you guys think we match up? Watauga took it to them pretty good last night.

Good post oldeagle. I guarantee when Cloudland plays Cosby, the pregame talk will be a lot more respectful. Pujo's a good guy. He just gets carried away during football season. There is still a lot of football to be played and Cosby will get better cause I know coach Shelton won't let them quit. Hampton is pretty dog gone tough. I don't think they will go undefeated this year but they will win 8 or 9 games. I was actually pretty close on my prediction of 38-14. Our teams are not as far from them as previously thought.

I was wondering if King Leon is still passing out muffins or did everyone choke on them when Cosby actually competed well against the invincible dogs. I would love to pass around some deer steaks and put a smile on everyones face.

I hate to say it, but NG is still NG. And from what I saw the Husky coach could use some help. That bunch has their work cut out for them. On another note, we all enjoyed some good food and fellowship. If any coaches were upset at me, I sure didn't detect it. We had a couple to come over and eat some hot dogs. I enjoy Cloudland football and we sure have some fine gentlemen directing our program. Everyone knows that the King can be a harsh critic but at the end of the night no matter what the outcome, I can say its great to be a Highlander, whooooooooooooooooooooooo!!

My apologies. I didn't know they hired a guy of that caliber. If he can turn NG around, then he'll sure have won my respect.

Trust me, it would not be worth it to jump on me. I don't like fighting with people old enough to be my father anyway. Its disrespectful and I have nothing to prove or gain from it. I know that you are tough and have a lot of grit and I can respect that, but it would benefit no one for us to fight and especially over a ball game and high school message board. That wouldn't be a good example for my little girls or your boys. Just a little food for thought.

Your number one problem is too much time on your hands. I made an opinion about something I would do different. The coaches don't need to worry about the fans opinions on a message board. I've started no junk and I've only stated the truth about the Hampton fans pregame talk through the years. You don't like it and it hit a sore spot. I won't be back peddling tonight. I'm gonna bring my grill and cook with my friends and if anyone has a problem they can come talk to me. I've talked no trash and I've not put any of our coaches down, so quit your judging. The Bible says more about that than it does envy.

Zaza needs to come and support his team, the team he pulls for don't have great coaches like Cosby. Don't use the right people ,don't call the right plays. Of course Cloudland only has about half as many kids as Cosby. I'll get you a set of POM POMS, and bring you some of THE GREAT KING LEONS MUFFINS to munch on during the slaughter. Maybe I was wrong about Hampton making excuses during the playoffs but you have to admit that some of you fans have done more than enough crying over the private schools. As for trying to undermine my support for Cloudland, don't even go there. This place is for opinions and critisicm. It does not take away the love I have for my community and the place I went to school. If you are going to act like a middle-aged youngin', then I will not longer respond to you.

If you look at the pregame talk since 2005, you will find that Hampton does most of it. No one from Hampton has any right to judge or condemn any other school. They are very bragadocious during the season and when they get thumped in the playoffs, they cry and make excuses. In defense of the Eagles fans, they have added very little comments to this thread. Most of the talking is Hampton fans who have not learned their lesson.

Piratetom, I'm afraid Hampton may beat them worse than that. The only time I pull against Cosby is when they play my Landers. Other than that I hope they beat the Creekers so bad it ain't funny. On a positive note, I just watched the Lander freshman wax David Crockett 40-6 and it could have been worse. The Landers were physical and aggressive as many of the Crockett boys were on the sideline with ice packs.

After getting shut out at WG, I doubt Cloudland will overlook anyone. I hope that is what this kid is trying to do. I've never saw a coach or player predict to get beat before the game even starts.

Dogbreath's prediction may be right, but I think Cosby will play with extra incentive with it being Hampton. I think they will keep it close for a while, but I think Hampton will pull away and win 38-14. I hope I am wrong. I hope Cosby can somehow make a game out of it and even pull it off.

That shows you the difference in jr. high ball and high school ball. It all depends on how a kid develops and grows during that transition. Our offensive line and skill people were not the caliber of the Mark Byrd teams when they were in jr. high. I knew it from the beginning, but people still want to make their silly comparisons. I guess what surprised me the most was having only 29 players dressed at West Greene. I know I counted close to 50 back in the spring.

When I first came out for football, in the eyes of a 14 year old, coach Lunsford was like the president of the U.S. As a young kid in the eighth grade, I saw the pride that the Lander players displayed in wearing the gold jersey and the effort they gave on the field and in the weight room. I wanted to be part of that so very bad. I was able to develop into the type of person who survives when tough times come. I even remember my first practice under Lunsford. He made the statement before we started excersises. "Today is the day we separate the men from the boys." I'll never forget it.

Mike has a good talent pool in the school. He knows how to get them to come out. If he wasn't a football coach, he'd make a great car salesman.

I still can't get over this NG kid predicting his own team to lose. That just makes no sense to me. You go into every game believing you can win or whats the point of even going out there and playing the game? Has the times changed that much?

Cosby has indeed lost alot. Cloudland lost over 3000 yards of total offense from last year. Yes, we are back to basic Cloudland football, but we can't afford to get behind because we are now a grind it out offense. Defensively, I think we'll keep improving. I don't mean to be discouraging to anyone from Cosby, but as long as Mike Lunsford is the head of the Hampton dragon, its gonna be hard for any of our teams to knock them off. I feel like Coach Shelton comes the closest to matching his motivation skill. If the parents will leave him alone, I feel like Cosby's powerhouse days are coming. IF.......they leave him alone

Believe it or not, I have a few friends up here on the mountain. We have a good time cooking and enjoying each others company. And to the NG player, if you are predicting the other team to win, then that is part of the problem your program is having. You have to go into the game wanting to rip the throats out of the opposition. Cloudland used to have this attitude. It has to be more than just a game to you. It has to be a war and your life.

At least there are a few smart posters in Hampton.

The reason I pull for Cosby is the reason I stated above idiot. Yeah, I hate Hampton and their success but I've learned to live with it. Really ain't nothing I could do about it. Coach Lunsford took Cloudland's killer instinct to Hampton. We may never beat him as long as he is there. Yall better take care of him, treat him like..........mmmmmm....A King!
