York folks y’all done taking for the week? Seem to like to do a lot of it early on

Whose got time to sit on a message board 24/7?  Not this working man.  What can be said your team is 10’ tall spitting fire out their arse, and laser beam out their eyes.  I’m sure this will be a hard hitting good time come Friday!!!

I'm not saying we're world beaters by any means. You for one know that. I will say you saw by far the worst outing this year to date. Oneida is improved quite a lot from last year, by all accounts including several YAI faithful they are even at best, maybe not quite as good as last year and with less speed. Add to that both teams predisposition to grinding it out then I think you've got a recipe for a close game. Could be wrong of course, I did get you and GFD and some Hampton boys all the way up to oneida one night for a "good game" and we got drilled ya know lol. Hafta wait and see I reckon.

Have you seen York play?   They lost one speedster and replaces him with one just as fast.  They now have a fullback that will run you over then out run you.  Defensively they have given up 14 points for the year.  The statement that they are not quite as good is ludicrous!!!

I saw York play the week before at Coalfield.  They played hard and knocked the crap out of Coalfield.  I saw nothing dirty.  I think high school parents of teams that get beat up physically just don't understand.  It's a physical game.  What did York do that was so classless against Grundy other than play extremely physical?

Mountain man football is back!!!! I hope they never run that spread crap they did a few years ago ever again!!!!!  Three yards a cloud of dust and a defense that will hit you and help you up so they can do it again that’s what it’s all about!! GO DRAGONS!!!!

  4. Coach Johnson is a good hire.  I don’t know the story as to why they lost their coach during the season, but they made a good hire.  Very knowledgeable in the game, seem to connect well with the players (my son loved him), and a good role model for the players.  Great hire in my opinion!!! Hated he left YAI when he did.  Clay County has a new fan in Jamestown.

Do you mean the same school that has 2400 students to choose from. Cookeville was still picked top 50% fo 6a . UHS is the real deal. If you are using the reasoning for CHS losing then your same philosophy would have to work the other way. UHS is returning i believe 10 on offense and 10 on defense. Most have been playing since sophomore year.  Can't have it both ways.

    UHS, York, Sequatchie/Smith

We have the same teams different orders. I’ll stick with my picks

Bass cant find much info on this York team or Coalfield for that matter. How much does York return from a stoubt team last year?If im not mistaken they beat that squatch team last year and only had a couple losses one was to the Jackets.

They return 8 starters on both sides of the ball.  The trio everyone talks about looked Good Friday night but I was impressed with the line very physical.  I agree with DevilForest I’d you can keep your fans off the field should be a good game to watch.

You either don't keep up with the local schools, seniors leaving, return players, coaching changes or your just bias, Either way this list is wrong.

Oh GREAT ONE please enlighten me!!!!  I know Smith lost their big play makers, Upperman is switching philosophies, Sqatch should not have a huge change, York is returning 90% of starters so now explain your picks.

  8. I have two sons on the Warriors team and I will be cheering for them to get the win tonight. However, as I see the Dragons run on the field tonight I am sure that a smile will come to my face as I think of one of the greatest young men I ever met who wore his York letterman with pride. His name was Ronnie Swafford. I Went on a mission trip with Ronnie when I was 15. He was a gentle giant. I will never forget him having kids in the slums of Monterrey Mexico flock to him, they were amazed at his size (especially his feet). He was one of the kindest persons I ever met! He made an impact on many people. My heart broke as a teenage boy when I heard that he had been in a wreck on his way to take the ACT and had died. Tonight I want my Warriors to win but for my friends sake part of me will always cheer for the dragons.

Im not one to get on here and post but I love to read the comments. Ronnie was one of my best friends in high school. He was just as you described. I look back and wander what he would or could have accomplished had his life not been cut short. Thank you so much for remembering my friend and saying such kind words of him.

  9. First thing to the YAI seniors congrats on a great season and thanks for all the fun friday nights.

You all have noting to be ashamed of hold your heads high.

Congrats to DCA great game!!! The better team won tonight. I wish you all the luck next week against

Alcoa. Would love to see you go in to their place and pull out a huge win.

ONCE AGAIN CONGRATS DRAGONS AND THANKS!!!!!!!!
