  1. And Springfield is at Rossview on Friday.
  2. Can anyone else confirm this? Not that I don't believe you Da Bears, but I'm just interested to hear more about this situation. Any type of website or newspaper where this information can be found?
  3. At the Overton tournament, the other teams involved besides Overton, Maplewood, and Knoxville-Webb: Rossview David Lipscomb Pope John Paul II Manatee (FL) Cleveland First round matchups are Overton vs. PJP II, Rossview vs. David Lipscomb, Maplewood vs. Knoxville-Webb, and Manatee (FL) vs. Cleveland. Should be an excellent tournament to watch.
  4. It should be a good night of basketball tonight in the district. Clarksville vs. Henry County - Until someone beats Henry Co., I'm not going to pick against them. And since it's at Henry, I think they pick up the victory, in a very close game. Northeast vs. Kenwood - Northeast wins this one, but quite honestly, it would not surprise me to see Kenwood win. It should be a close game since its at Kenwood. Rossview vs. Northwest - Being a Rossview fan, I don't really like to make a prediction. If Rossview can play much better defense than they have, they should win this one. But just like every other game, it will be close, and it's tough to win on the road in this district. Dickson Co. vs. Springfield - Dickson wins.
  5. District is at NW, with the first round at the higher seed's gym as usual. I could be wrong, but I believe I heard the region is at Rossview.
  6. Well, it's still sort of early to tell. If we go by who is playing the best basketball right now, I'd say Northeast, Henry Co., and Clarksville would be the top three, in that order. But again, I expect Northwest, Kenwood, and Rossview to all get much better by season's end, and I still have hope that Rossview can contend for that third spot or better if they can turn things around. Henry Co. showed how good they can be last night, and I'll be the first to admit that I didn't expect them to be that impressive. And I think we learned last night how difficult it's going to be to win at Dickson.
  7. I think that's a fair assessment. I personally think the foul trouble had something to do with it, but it also could have been the fact that Perry came out and hit three straight threes on him. He never recovered at all, and did seem frustrated. I doubt Williams even attempted that many shots.
  8. Teague did play good defense on him from what I saw, but Williams just didn't get to play his usual minutes due to foul trouble. I don't think he necessarily "shut him down," but I understand what you're saying. Williams could never seem to get anything going due to the foul trouble.
  9. Williams got in foul trouble very early. Then got in foul trouble early in the third. So he wasn't a factor in last night's game. I agree with lojack, my hats off to Henry County. They keep playing like they did last night, and they'll finish at the top or near the top of the district. Rossview is just not playing good enough to win right now. I believe they'll get things turned around though. They are just in a bad stretch right now. Once again, congrats to Henry County on the win, and good luck to them the rest of the season (unless of course they are playing Rossview, gotta cheer for my team).
  10. Well the Hawks now sit at 0-2 in the district, and really need to come out and play well tonight. They played well against Northeast, but just couldn't get the shots to fall in the final minutes. Hopefully it'll be a good game tonight in Clarksville, and I hope to see Rossview pick up a victory. I don't think Rossview is overrated as some of you have stated, I just think this is a tough stretch they have to begin district play. This should be a close game.
  11. I agree with you there. If Dickson gets an early lead on people this year, especially at home, it's going to be hard to come back from. Their style just isn't what most teams in this district like to play.
  12. What are you talking about? I said I wasn't taking anything away from Dickson at all, because they did play well, however I just said Rossview didn't show up to play. Being a Rossview fan, I just wished the team would have played better, so I could have seen a better game last night. Some night teams have it, some nights they don't. And yes, the other team does have something to do with that. I'm not arguing that. I'm just saying that the same Rossview team I've seen earlier in the season didn't show up last night. Just like you do for your team, I have high hopes for this team this season, so I was just giving my honest opinion.
  13. You're right JunkyardDog, Dickson did play pretty well tonight. Being a Rossview fan, I also attended the game, and while I don't want to take anything away from Dickson, Rossview just didn't show up in my opinion. They looked flat from the very beginning and even though they cut it to 7 with two minutes left, they just could never get over the hump all night. Winning at Dickson won't be easy for anyone this year, you can count on that. Dickson's style seemed to put the Hawks to sleep tonight. This is already shaping up to be an interesting year in this very competitive district.
  14. What's wrong with that quote? If the district is as wide open as everyone thinks it's going to be, then anybody has a chance to be number one, right? If the kid thinks his team can be number one, then why shouldn't he say it? So what if Rossview beat Hendersonville in a close game. I find it funny that you say Rossview barely beat a "weak" Hendersonville team, but yet say Kenwood's win over Hendersonville was a "nice" win. Rossview also lost by two to an Ensworth team in overtime that would probably beat seven out of the eight teams in this district, with Clarksville being the exception. Plain and simple, you have to bring it in this district every single night. Everybody is 0-0 now. The fun begins on Tuesday.
  15. Well it's about that time. District play begins on Tuesday, with some excellent games to kick off district play. Clarksville travels to Northeast, Rossview travels to Dickson County, Springfield travels to Northwest, and Henry County travels to Kenwood. All these games will be very intriguing, as these are some quality games. What are your thoughts on Tuesday's action?
