  1. As it is every year '07 will be exciting. I think the region should be very interesting with everyone, but Wilson Central still playing for playoff bids heading into week 10. Here's my prediction at this point of the off season. I do think 1-3 are very tight and 4-7 are even closer.

    1. Lebanon- I know everyone will probably quit reading my predictions after this, but this team played very tough last year against the big dogs and return most all of their key players.

    2. Smyrna- In my opinion they have the strongest senior class in the region, but also one of the weakest junior classes. I think it will cost them back to back titles.

    3. Riverdale- I have a hard time believing that I am actually putting them in third, but I just think that's how it will fall. Every time they get counted out they respond so I'm sure they'll probably win another region title.

    4. Lavergne- They get the nod here because they have been in the playoffs the last couple of years and know how to win on the varsity level.

    5. Oakland- Linemen will have to play up to potential and I think Bass may emerge as one of the two or three best players in the region.

    6. Siegel- Their Junior class is good enough to carry them to the playoffs.

    7. Blackman- Wallace and the talented sohps will have a say in how the playoff race shakes out.

    8. Wilson Central- Just don't think they have enough all around depth to compete week in week out.

  2. One has to remember Bowen was out of the program for almost a year and out of shape. He is probably just now hitting full stride and should be in for a good senior season. Wouldn't be surprised to see McAdoo on defense instead of Bowen to keep him fresh for offense though. McAdoo did start against Riverdale last season on defense as a freshman after all.

  3. Mid TN evaluation is pretty much dead on. Is CC gonna have the depth and overall talent of some of the schools in bigger locations? No. Can they make the playoffs every year? Absolutely yes. Every two or three years can they have a shot to win this current region? Yes again. Once every 10-12 years can they have a very special group that could make a deep run? I think so. In my opinion the football team has done pretty well with a group of male athletes that haven't won many other games in the various other sports. For what it's worth there are a couple of things you can say about CC since Coach Price has arrived. They play very hard for him and they play a very physical brand of football under him. If you really like football then those ar two things you really have to like.

  4. irecnso I think you two are talking about two different CC's. He is talking about Cumberland County and I think you are talking about Coffee County. If Cumberland County moved down it is a certainty that they would move east (where they should be anyway.)

  5. Lavergne @ Oakland- They played as bad a half last week as they have all season, looked a lot like the 04 and 05 Patriots. Great to see them fight back in the second half. I'll take OHS.

Lebanon @ Blackman- Toss Up, Give me Lebanon.

    Smyrna @ Siegel- Smyrna

    Wilson Central @ Riverdale- Riverdale

    Brentwood @ Franklin- Franklin

    Gallatin @ Antioch- Gallatin

    Springfield @ Beech- Springfield

  6. I think this week looks pretty easy, but will prove to have more upsets than most would think. I don't have the guts to pick them, but I think it could be an interesting week.

Blackman @ Brentwood- I have had more faith in Blackman than most people all year, but every time I pick 'em they let me down. I'll take the Bruins.

Dickson County @ Riverdale- I'll take RHS, but if this had been the hot pick I would have taken DC.

    Gallatin @ Wilson Central- Gallatin

Independence @ Siegel- After their big come back last week there is no way I can pick against Indy. They'll win it by 10 or more.

Lavergne @ Columbia- I'll take the Lions.

    Oakland @ Lincoln County- Oakland

Lebanon @ Mt. Juliet- Mt. Juliet has hit their stride I'll take them in an upset.

Ravenwood @ Smyrna- Ravenwood's Qb played last week and they lost so there is NO way I'm taking this week. Smyrna in a battle.

Beech @ White House- White House??

    Moore County @ Eagleville- Eagleville

  7. Siegel @ Lebanon- Blue Devils

Blackman @ Smyrna- The run away truck that is SHS continues to gain speed.

    Oakland @ Wilson Central- Oakland

Riverdale @ Lavergne- Riverdale... As bad as LHS has been I really think they may pull the upset. Still gotta go with the Warriors though.

    Cascade @ Forrest- Cascade

Franklin @ Independence- Franklin their "D" is too tough

Ravenwood @ Brentwood- If Ravenwood's QB plays this is an easy pick, heck I'll take 'em either way.

  8. This is a pretty tough week, and I have a feeling I may fall back in the standings next week.

Centennial @ Blackman- This is the first of tough pick, as much as I like Wallace I still will take Centennial.

    Franklin County @ Oakland- Oakland

Glencliff @ Lavergne- Glencliff is a bad team, Lavergne with ease.

Lebanon @ Cookeville- Another toss up. I'll take Cookeville at home.

Mt. Juliet @ Siegel- The Stars get a W.

Smyrna @ Columbia- Smyrna continues to roll.

Riverdale @ Lincoln County- The Ramsey injury is huge. Riverdale takes it 28-0.

Smith County @ Trousdale County- Smith County

Jefferson County @ Morristown East- Morristown East

Beech @ Gallitin- The Green Wave wash away the Buccaneers.

  9. I almost blew it and didn't get my picks in.

Blackman @ Riverdale- Riverdale by a bunch, Blackman is a huge disappointment to me.

Lavergne @ Lebanon- I'll take Lavergne, but I think it is a mistake as I type this.

    Oakland @ Siegel- Oakland

Smyrna @ Wilson Central- Smyrna rolls

Franklin @ Ravenwood- Rebels shut down the Raptors offense and continue to evolve on offense

Baylor @ Brentwood Academy- BA will be in a bad mood after letting a double digit lead slip away last week. They win big.

Eagleville @ Jo Byrns- Jo Byrns

  10. I was pretty sure the score last year was 21-6. As an Oakland fan though I will say that blocked kick or not Franklin was just a better team. Last year Oakland a lot of me guys and it showed as the year progressed. I really don't think thats the case this year. There is not one big star who everyone is talking about, it is jst a bunch of guys who have to do their jobs for them to win. I can't wait until Friday to see how far te Pats have progressed.

  11. The key to this game will be Oakland's ability to stop the run. I know everyone wants to say they shut down the run vs. Blackman which they mostly did. There were several times that the Blaze pounded OHS right up the middle, especially with Wallace. Oakland's defense against the pass and perimeter run is very good, so if they can shore up the middle they will be VERY tough to move the ball on.

  12. Riverdale at McCallie- Tough roadie for the Warriors, I'll take McCallie.

Siegel at Springfield- I'll take C. Parks and the Stars.

Smyrna at Brentwood- Smyrna by 10. (Is it possible they were really holding back in the preseason? I think so......)

    Oakland at Franklin- Oakland

Lincoln Co. at Blackman- Lincoln County, but CLOSE, real close.

Gallatin at Lebanon- Green Wave by a ton.

Mt. Juliet at Wilson Central- Wilson Central

Shelbyville at Coffee County- Coffee County by 35.

    Brentwood Academy at Ravenwood- BA

    LaVergne vs. Centinnial- Wolverines

  13. Siegel @ Riverale: Riverdale by 24

Blackman @ Oakland: Should be a good game, but I'll take Oakland

LaVergne @ Smyrna: Smyrna in a LOW scoring game.

Lebanon @ Gallatin: Gallatin by as much as they want.

Hendesonville @ Wilson Central: I'll take Hendersonville on a hunch.

    Ooltewah Vs. Cookeville: Cookeville

LCHS vs. Franklin: Two contrasting styles, should be the closest game of the week. I'll take Franklin.
