  1. I don't blame you at all for standing up for your team, but don't you dare say that you don't respect the Jackson County team as a whole. If you have a problem with one thing, so be it, but don't take it out on every girl there. Many of those girls are model students and people. If I was a mother and my child was unhappy, I would move her. But you can bet before I did I would call the coach and just say, "Hey we are moving, would you allow my daughter to play for you?" I'd want to know before hand and if that coach said no then I'd move elsewhere. I don't see that as recruiting. Did Laken get a new car, boat, house or something that I don't know about??? I understand why the comment about Tasha made you mad and I, a JC fan, told a fellow JC fan that the comment was out of line. My sister plays for Jackson County and I can tell you right now that she's a great person with great values who plans on going to school to become a pharmacist. Also, graduated with honors. If you don't respect that then your a sad individual. Disagree with what was done all you want, but don't say that you don't respect the girls. (which is what was being implied when you stated that you dont respect Jackson County) Have a great day and I hope you can understand where I am coming from.
  2. I didn't think it was, just the way it was worded. But yes like you said they both walk.
  3. Sorry midten, but it did sound pretty bad. But can we not get into the whole recruiting debate.........again..........for the 100th time this year. Don't knock the girls for what one person said, that shouldn't have been said to start with.
  4. HAHAHA you clearly don't know much about girls basketball. Too bad you used your 7th post to post something like this. $12 too expensive for ya???
  5. Any idea when the list will be released? Curiousity is killing me.
  6. I've been talking to my boss and I'm really pushing something where people can sponsor a family or a couple of people go in and sponsor a family. I'll let you know if anything gets worked out or if anybody else gets anything worked out please let me know. Thanks
  7. Not trying to argue, but how many JC games have you been to? Are you going strictly by just seeing the final score? JC subs are good...very good...and when starters have came out they have continued to run up the score, and that's every girl playing. I don't belive in running up the score intentially, I think that's tacky. But I do see what you mean, it just wasn't done to put other teams down. Do the coaches vote on coach of the year?
  8. Your right I'm sure both coaches have better things on their minds right now, but when has Coach Brown had his starters in when up by 20? If a team is playing aggressive and he knows that just a few plays could turn the game around, then I've seen him leave in two or three starters but I have never seen him intentially run up the score on anybody. I remember a few years ago when a player threw up a last second shot from the half court line, when up by a good margin, and he chewed her up one side and down the other for showing bad sportsmanship. I have been to practically every game the last 4 years and have never seen him show bad sportsmanship.
  9. No no she's a great player, I wasn't saying that. It's just shocking because usually if there is a player on the higher placed team that also deserves the honor then it goes to that player...kinda like Miss Basketball usually goes to whoevers team goes the farthest. And your probably right about cancelling each other out. While each one is a great player, they don't get every bit of the spotlight every night. I'm very happy for Phillips, I just hate that for the JC girls. Leonard, Dyer, and Maxwell all deserved MVP and I'm just afraid that all 3 won't land on the first team because of the need to balance things out. Oh well, they all know what they have accomplished and they're MVP's to me. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Especially the lil one. Congrats though to Phillips.
  10. Does anyone have a complete list. That just dosn't add up to me.
  11. Here's kinda what I was thinking... Laken Leonard-MVP Coach Brown-Coach of the Year 1st team Misti Maxwell Courtney Dyer Kelli Reed Tasha Phillips Molly Heady 2nd team Tori Lowe Hannah Green Layce Colter Lindsey Wright (I think that's #30) Serena Snow 3rd team Taylor Adkins Lindsey Wright Emily Bowman Shannon Sleeper Amy Anderson More strong players: Brittany Garrett, Holli Daily, Kayla Gibson, Tess Copas, Ashton Gentry, Talica Bowman, Sierra Bean And I'm sure I'm leaving several well deserving girls off by pure forgetfullness so throw out some ideas. Here's just a lil something to get things kicked off.
  12. Philtenn I completely understand your point. "Star" players have to deal with that every game, unfortunately. They are blessed to be so talented, but then they deal with jealousy from some teammates, parents, etc. That's just one of those things that come with the territory. I have coached and to be honest if the game was on the line, I wanted the player that I knew could score to have the ball and use her judgement as to whether she should take the shot or pass off.
  13. Unless you were on that floor, you have no idea if it was hard fought or not. Sittin in the stands isn't hard to do. If you want, private message me. I'll tell you exactly who I am and clear some things up for you. Until then, lets quit wasting space on this thread and get back to topic.
  14. Proof of score doesn't mean a thing to me, I'm saying it was a hard fought game. If you can get a play-by-play I'd sure love to see it. Or I can probably make a call and get the video of the game. This whole thing was about JC. Upperman won, no debate there, but they had decent refs that didn't intentially try to take the game from them.
  15. Whatever you think is fine, but those who know who I am understand what I'm saying when I tell you that I KNOW what went on and HOW that game went. Don't remember winning by that margin unless free throws shot the final score up when they started fouling at the end. And when you get an extra 10 or so points at the end on free throws, that wasn't an extra 10 point cushion during the game.
  16. I distinctly remember that game. It was a contest and it came down to the very end, I recall Upperman taking some pretty hard hits trying to hold the ball at the end, but the refs called those fouls. The refs were not great, but it wasn't obvious that they wanted their home team to win. I'm not trying to argue, but I was told that our girls were getting knocked to the floor time after time and nothing was being called. Then with around 4 mins left the foul count was 2-10+. That's ridiculous.
  17. If memory serves me correct, I don't think Upperman won by that big of a margin. It was a hard fought game. Plus, I don't recall the refs being so one sided during that game.
  18. What's an achools??? /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
  19. HAHAHA Very true. We are the nicest people anybody could ever meet, but mess with our girls and we're ready to fight. /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" /> grrrrrrrrr (that's for those refs...be very afraid) hahaha /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  20. I don't understand why they let them get by with this. A team is taking the time to go to that tournament and they are not treated fairly. Why in the world would a team want to go back to that tourney? They are just hurting themselves by running off good competition. If I were a coach in Ky, wether my team won or not, I would want the game called the way it should be so my team could get better and I believe the coaches should speak up. Pretty soon they are going to have a hard time getting out of state teams to go to ky and play them. This makes me question their top 25 ranking. I'm not trying to make a low blow at the Ky girls at all, but if your refs won't let you get beat then......
  21. One parent told me that one of the locals there came up after the game an apologized. That local stated that the refs there won't let an out of state team beat on of their own. That's pretty sad. From what I hear our girls have a lot to be proud of. We won't get a chance, but I'd love to see that team come down to TN and see what the outcome would be. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  22. HAHAHA Why thank you /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  23. If it makes you feel any better, I see exactly where you are coming from. A tall player that just posts up (and is only a couple of inches from the basket) really doesn't have to work that hard. I'm more partial to guards tho. Guards have to break the press, control the game, and play smart. Not that a tall post doesn't, but they can shoot over anybody and don't have to worry about finding the gap and making that perfect pass to get out of a trap.
  24. HAHAHA where is cascade11??? I want a pic of "backcrack ref"!!!
  25. First of all, you really need to get some people skills. Did you have a really rough childhood or what...I'm just curious as to where this anger is coming from. I don't run my mouth about anything until you're rude to people when there is no sense in it. Also, don't threaten me...I do not take kindly to that and you do not intimidate me. Sorry for busting your bubble, but I'm not afraid of Big Bad MUFFIN. Have a great day now! /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
