  1. Don't worry about the publics getting some of your potential transfers RunAndGun, the guy that owns the pharmacy in Powell will ensure Grace buys up all the good recruits. He is bound and determined to buy a championship for your school. Just saying...

    You love to drop names and hide behind yours.

  2. Coach mcdaniels will do a fine job already heard of some girls from area schools that want to play for her.I am more worried about getting some great math teachers to replace the ones that leave,Coach McCollum was a great algebrae teacher!

    Do you mean you have heard of some transfers that you may get? Didn't think that happened at greenback or any other public school for that matter. Just Saying

  3. Let me try to address each of your above rebuttal comments. First of all, I gather you are probably only a few years out of high school from your post, but apparently are much wiser than the decision makers at Grace as to how the illegal activity at Grace should have been addressed. And I don't thing a Public Relations degree is necessary either to realize that stepping up and taking responsibility for your actions instead of playing the naive card, would have been a better option. I think most of us would have a lot more respect for the pastor and the school if they had just stated that they got caught up in all the winning and got off keeping Christ the main focus of the school, and then offer the those affected an apology. I also think many of the students saw through the facade, which only made many of them lose respect for the adminstrators and pastor, as I am friends with many of those who attended Grace in the past who have both insight and negative opinions as to what went on there. XBraves10X, it is a shame the powers to be didn't ask for your advice before making weak excuses to the public on the radio, tv, etc. If so, perhaps the verbal abuse Grace continues to take would not have been near as harsh. Anyway, in regards to your post... the kid from FL did live with one of your asst baseball coaches. If you know who he lived with, then you know this to be fact (if you are only going by what you have been told, then maybe not). As for people losing their jobs, the only person I am aware of was Coach Lamb. And there were numerous issues with him already, in that he was working there much of the time without a contract due to those issues. In fact, I was told that Pridemore threatened to pull his son out of Grace because of Lamb, and Slusher was to leave with him, as well (pretty easy to validate this being Pridemore is now your girls basketball coach). As for the transfers I mentioned, per the TSSAA, Adrian was required to sit our his first year at Grace, whether he was adopted or played sports at AE, or not. Here is language taken directly from the TSSAA website:

    Q. A student with or without an athletic record moves to live with a guardian other than a parent. Is the student eligible?

    A. No. A student must live with the new guardian, if other than their parent, for 12 months or longer.

    And by the way, it was the Pastor's son (not brother) who was to have adopted Adrian (I heard that was the intention of the pastor's son, but not sure if that ever actually happened, or not). Also, he actually met Adrian when he started an inner city church a several years back, and had not known Adrian all his life. Whether or not the intention was to involve Adrian in sports at Grace to benefit him or the athletic program at Grace, I will not comment on, as that would be speculation at best. As for David Amos, all of your facts are correct to my knowledge. However, after the KCS basketball program was turned down by the TSSAA to co-op with Grace, the Amos family petitioned TSSAA to allow him to be illegible to play basketball at Grace if he transferred. Again, all legal as you stated. However, I can tell you for fact they would never have approved the tranfer illegiblity if they had known the intention was for him to transfer to Grace only for the basketball season, and then withdraw and return to KCS to graduate. And just so you know, I only mentioned Amos because you stated in your post that Helton was the only transfer at Grace in the 4 years you played sports at Grace. As for my Pridemore comment, I never said he was a transfer (so I will let the dumb comment slide). That was only a response to your comment that all the people who have left Grace and went on to play college sports attended Grace in middle school (Pridemore did not attend middle school at Grace and he is playing basketball in college). Someone I failed to mention in my prior post is the star of your girl's basketball team who transferred from Oak Ridge after her freshman year. No family relocation of residence, no sitting out for a year, and no 20 mile rule adhered to, so I am still trying to figure how they pulled that off (or maybe they didn't and she played illegally). Since a lot of what is in you above post is incorrect regarding my comments, I actually find humor that yet another one of the Grace faithful (Ram Fan) jumped on the bandwagon to commend your post. No beef with you though, as you seem like a pretty decent young man. I am sorry you had to go through what you did while attending Grace due to the actions of a few adults.

    by asking .

    Man for someone who knows so much about Grace athletics I am suprised at how little you REALLY know and the false things you say. I will try to clear up you obvious confusion about the GIRL from oak ridge. She played her freshman year at oak ridge and sat out her 10th grade year and played no sports at all and transfered to Grace as a 11th grader. By TSSAA rule she was eligible to play right away. Dude quit trying so hard enjoy life and move on and most of all get your facts right.

  4. Dillon Pridgeon moved from FL to Knoxville (by himself) his senior season in 2008/2009, and lived with the asst baseball coach. After the 2009 school year, he graduated from Grace and returned to FL to live with his family. Coincidentally, Pidemore's son and Pridgeon played basketball together in FL, and Pridemore arranged for Dillon to come to Grace. The TSSAA is explicit about the rules concerning an athlete being required to live with their parents, and also about dual residency (either by themselves alone are illegal). Grace passed this off as filling out a form incorrectly. This was self reported by the school, albeit AFTER the state tourney when a parent brought it to the attention of the pastor BEFORE the state tourney (and that same parent left the church over the incident). Grace forfeited the boys basketball region title and vacated all wins in 2009. Ask around, do your own investigation, and you will find I'm right.

    Not going to go back and forth because everyone thinks they are right so it is useless. I will state the facts, that they NEVER played together just from the same area. The relationship was with his brother-in-law and parents were attemting to get a job transfer here and in the mean time established thier residence with his uncle. They were looking for a school and knew about Grace so they made an appointment for admission. That Uncle lived more than 20 miles from Grace and that was the violation. parents were back and forth while trying to get transfer and it never went through. He did stay with a friend often and that was also reported to the tssaa and they said that was not the violation and said they cant monoter where every kid actually sleeps but it was a violation because his residence was more than 20 miles from grace. Those are the facts for you to believe or not.

  5. should have seen him at state tourney talking to kids and parents lol. Grace will be stout next yr, simply bc they are illegally recruiting kids and getting them to come to school and killing public school ball. it frustrate me beyond all belief!

    He was at the State tournament and I was with him. He took 5 girls from Graces team and those were the only kids he spoke to while we were there. You really should not use this board to spread gossip that is just not true. What does it accomplish, speading hate? Grace has come from winning 2 games in 4 years to winning 12 two years ago and last season going 20-11 and playing for a district championship. This is a result of hard work by the players and coaches and should applauded not critisized.

  6. The way Grace Christian is illegally recruiting kids in district 4A it seems to me that they will likely end up there. How a Christian School can openly cheat is beyond me. I personally saw their coach at the region tournament approach kids families and kids themselves from several area schools! They are just a plain dirty program!

    This is why people should get facts before they talk bad about someone. I know for a fact that he was not even at the region tournament and was out of town. Please dont just post things to be hateful and spread gossip. But make no mistake Grace girls will be very good for years to come.

  7. Grace is 20-10 and playing very well right now beating Greenback by 26 in the semi-final. Grace is very young starting 1 senior 2 soph and 2 freshmen. 6,7,8 are soph,8th grade and freshman. The two games lost to tellico during the year were without 2nd best player and all-district player. Should be a good one with Grace with alot of pressure defence and Tellico with good inside half court offence.

  8. Talk about juggling partial facts. You are correct on some parts. He was a football player. Father lives in Kingsport. He at least legitimately moved in with family here his Sophomore year. Father bought a condo for him to live in as an investment during his Junior year. He has basically been on his own since he was 17. Didn't know it was against TSSAA rules to live on your own. Don't forget to mention kid was a honor student that won Catholic's top student award for overall citizenship. Let's see whose Glass House cracks first...

    According to TSSAA standards, as deter- mined by the members of TSSAA, some of the eligibility rules are:

    A student must have made a passing grade during the preceding semester in at least five full unit subjects;

    A student must be enrolled before the 20th school day of the semester, in regular attendance, and carrying at least five full courses during the present semester;

    A student is permitted eight semesters of eligibility beginning with the ninth grade. Junior division students are permitted four semesters of eligibility beginning with the eighth grade;

    A student shall be ineligible in high school if he becomes 19 years of age on or before September 1 or in junior high if he becomes 16 years of age on or before August 1

    Athletes must live at home with their parents

    In order for a transfer student with an athletic record to be eligible at another school there must be a bona fide change of residence by the athlete's parents;

    All transfer students must be approved by the Executive Director of TSSAA before participating in any game or contest;

    A student whose name is listed on the school eligibility report cannot participate in an independent game or meet until the season has closed in that particular sport. (This does not include golf or tennis)

    A registered athlete cannot accept any money for athletic skills in any TSSAA sponsored sport;

    An athlete may accept a medal, trophy, high school letter, sweater, shirt, jacket, blazer or blanket for athletic participation but nothing else of commercial value, and these awards must carry the school's letter or other appropriate award emblem;

    All expenses to an athletic camp where specialized instruction is offered must be paid by the athlete or his or her parents;

    When an athlete is charged tuition to attend a school, it must be paid by the parent or bona fide guardian.

    If what you say about his residence is true, every game he played in should be a retroactive forfeit, among other penalties[/quot

    Thats my point so Irishbball I suggest you look at your own school before you bash another one

  9. Let's be honest all private schools should play in the private school division period. Then this wouldn't be an issue you could give money to any kid you want, pay thier tuition or whatever you like. No one would complain if you guys played in the private school division. Even if a private school doesn't offer aid or scholarships they are still at an advantage because being private school alone draws people in, just go play D2 & if a public school wants to schedule you then thats their buisness. From rumors I've heard this case alone may be what pushes TSSAA into forcing all privates into D2 regardless of if they give scholarships or not. That rumor comes from someone at the TSSAA office.

    You gotta love rumers

  10. This is not God's work being done at Grace Christian Academy athletics. Not only do they not play by the rules (TSSAA), but their coaches and players don't show the true Christian spirit. I have witnessed, have heard numerous other accounts of the way the players and coaches have acted in football and basketball during the past several years.

    Please don't short-sell the fans! They take obnoxious to a new level. I haven't just heard this rumor, witnessed it repeatedly. :lol:

    Agreed. Their fans are truly obnoxious. Not only were their fans obnoxious the entire game, at one game last year a parent went after a high school kid because he was excited and jumped up when their team hit a shot to put the game into overtime, which they ended up winning. They are the definition of classless.

    No you are the definition of classless. How about something new on this board; actually stating facts and not just like "Oh ya in this one game or that game this and that happened" Grace had one overtime game and that was Anderson county and yes it was a very intense game but I was there and dont know what you are talking about. Were you at least at the game?? I guess only your teams fans behave themselves all the time and conduct themselve with nothing but class. By the way who is your team any way.

  11. This is not God's work being done at Grace Christian Academy athletics. Not only do they not play by the rules (TSSAA), but their coaches and players don't show the true Christian spirit. Please don't short-sell the fans! They take obnoxious to a new level. I haven't just heard this rumor, witnessed it repeatedly. :cry:

    I know who this is and you sir are more obnoxious than Grace could ever be. A wanna be coach. And by the way Catholic talking about anyone else cheating is a joke. I know of a football player whose parents lived in Johnson City and he lived in an apartment by himself in Knoxville and was taken very good care of. Glass houses have a way of cracking.

  12. Its funny how reading this board you would think EVERYONE thinks this way about Grace. Truth be known that most people and schools dont really care. Its just a FEW schools and a FEW people that feel so much hatred for Grace. It has been the SAME people for like 3 years over and over and over again. I can tell you this, it bothers and consumes you guys way too much and your hate runs way too deep. So who really loses in this?? Its the bitter Haters. The truth will come out and if Grace did something wrong they will own up to it and make sure the mistake never happens again.

  13. Game times are: Grace vs Harriman at 5pm

    Tellico Plains vs O S at 6:30pm

    Girls Region final at 8pm

    Games are all played at Wartburg

    My predictions are Grace over Harriman and O S over Tellico

  14. Does anyone know the details of the situation?

    Why let the details get in the way of wild speculation?

    details as of now:someone turned williams in said his tuition was being paid by the school,well tssaa is in the middle of a huge investigation of more than just this situation,williams grandparents told the truth about the tuition,they were told it was a scholarship(not).I would guess some of the folks there are tired of all the cheating and lying and turned them in and after the allegations the tssaa found out it is not a scolarship fund,the school is actually paying the kids tuition,boy i remember something like this at temple a few years ago,they got slammed.it is so hard to build a competitive basketball or football program much less two at the same time,had to figure something was going on.Two years in a row of cheating;six if you count the wanamaker situation.

    You act as if you really know whats going on and ONCE AGAIN you do not. Tuition was not paid by the SCHOOL and that is the only thing that is being questioned so dont try and make it sound like there are OTHER things being looked into because there is not. Simply if the parents paid it or not and if it makes him ineligible because only parents or family can do so. Skippy I guess you are not a man of your word because you said you were through bashing Grace and here you go again saying things like you KNOW something and like last time dont have a clue.

  15. Semi-final games

    District 4 (sat)

    4 Onieda vs 1 Oliver SPrings

    3 Jellico vs 2 Sunbright

    District 3 (mon?)

    4 Harriman vs 1 Grace

    3 Midway vs 2 Tellico Plains

    THese games will be good! Good luck and get out and support your team!

    Harriman played like a team on a mission last night against Rockwood and won solidly and from watching alot of their games this year i don't think that was their best game! They have a very talented Grace team monday that they split with in the regular season.. I'll go with an upset alert and take Harriman over Grace and even go as far to say that the Green Waves have a shot at knocking off the Bears but all should be action packed games!

    Well Harriman did split with Grace. The last time at Harriman it wasnt even close. It was 20 at half time and ended up 25 with Grace playing reserves the main part of the second half so I really dont see an upset. Grace and Tellico in the Final

  16. wow skippy if i didnt know any better i would think you were titlows dad or titlow himself...even in just a simple thread congratulating grace for a good year, you have to find something wrong and pump up titlow even more...rather is head and shoulders above anyone else in the region and titlow isnt even the best post in the region or district....give it a break and try to make a couple posts that dont down grace and dont try and pump up one of your own players. congrats to grace.

    you make a good point a about a simple thread,congrats Grace you all have had a great year,and hoopin,you havnt been around these threads very long,or around district 3 bball,ask any coach who is the best post in the district or region,he's done his work i dont have to pump him up.just givin him some props its been a rough year.good luck to all in 3a. P.S. i thought i have done a pretty good job laying off Grace this year!

    Sorry Skippy all the coaches voted on this already Inman was MVP and Burdett was second. I dont know where Titlow ended up but it wasnt first. Also I beleive you said you wouldnt say any thing this year about Grace because you were convinced based on your INSIDE INFORMATION that certian players were not going to play and you were wrong. Just a reminder. Good luck in the playoffs GRACE

  17. Congrads to the boys from Grace. Did you have the same people from last year on the team or did some boys just HAPPEN to move to you school over the summer?

    The school did grow from last year by over 50 kids but no new basketball players. Imagine that kids coming to Grace because they choose to do so and pay tuition and not play sports?? What is this world coming to.

  18. 1) Grace----1 and 2 could go either way

    2) Harriman

    3) Tellico plains

    4) Rockwood

    5) Midway

    6) Greenback

    7) Berean

    8) TSD

    confirmation;i posted earlier that williams and burdette will not be playing,both have changed their minds and are now playing,confirmed this morning,with that being said, runandgun i will agree with most of your top four,i think harriman has the most tallent,but they are not coached well,so #1 will be a toss up between grace and harriman,2 thru four looks pretty good, watch out for tellico we play them almost every year,i dont know what they have this year but they have been known to put some good players on the court.Greenback has the best player probably in the region, but how fast can the younger kids help,they also could be a top four team:i do not see midway in the top five.

    Hoopin:If i said it, i meant it, you have it in black and white!You all should be very strong,they are very fine players.

    Skippy, feel free to coment on any Grace post you wish, we all make mistakes and I enjoy the debate. I am really looking forward to the new look for Grace but we wont see the true team until December due to the football teams success. The bball team will be waiting on 3-4 very important players that will make a huge difference in the team.

  19. Every public school has a set geographic area that kids in that area must attend a specific school. We don't have that luxury, nobody is obligated to go to Grace. Grace is made up of kids that attend because their parents want them to have a quality, Christian education. If you guys are under the impression that our team is filled with kids that are on some sort of supplement to play, you are mistaken. If we were recruiting, I vote that we fire our recruiting coach. If you're recruiting, we should have 22 studs, 11 on offense and 11 on defense. We certainly don't have that, just a bunch of kids playing hard and enjoying themselves. Although we do have a couple of studs mixed in :justwrestle: ..........RAM PRIDE!!!

    At what age do they see the need for this quality Christian education, Recruiting goes on at alot of schools ,public and private.Its done by players ,coaches and parents. Grace has had an unusual amount of transfers over the past 3 or 4 years. Its just a huge drawing pool. Temple build one of the best 1a teams in the state in a short period of time, guess what, they no longer have a football team. When you get too good, too fast ,people start checking. I don't think you are at that level now,but you sure are improving in a hurry. Another funny thing is, nearly all of your best players have all been transfers. All at once they seen the need for a quality Christian education.

    Boy, Its nice to know that some things never change. You have made this point over 1000 times we get it !!!!! move on

  20. 1) Grace----1 and 2 could go either way

    2) Harriman

    3) Tellico plains

    4) Rockwood

    5) Midway

    6) Greenback

    7) Berean

    8) TSD

    I will agree Greenback does have a nice player in Titlow but I believe the best player in the Region is the guard from Oliver Springs, Rather I think is his name. Greenback will def need help from younger players and if they get it they might move up. As far as Midway being in the 5 spot they could go either way, after top 4 its a big drop off
