  5. And you say go enjoy baseball season? Now, if you wanna go compare records there, then Cheatham County has won....what......2 or 3 games in the past 2 years. So that makes them about.......3-40? I guess that's why you say to enjoy baseball season because with records like that, YOU sure can't enjoy them, including a 36-0 beatdown from Harpeth last year.
  6. Kudos to both Cheatham County and Waverly. Both played very well. True, officiating wasn't the best last night as BOTH teams caught alot of bad and questionable calls. These are 2 pretty evenly matched teams. Cheatham County wins the regular season district title and receives the #1 seed and bye into the semifinals in the district tournament. But as everyone knows, it's tournament time and anyone can be beaten on any given night. Assuming the higher seeded teams reach the finals, we all will see how Cheatham County and Waverly play against one another on a "neutral" court. Both teams have played on this court one time this year. Some things are different from gym to gym whether it be the give on the rims, bounce off the court or even the atmosphere. I'm a Waverly Tigers fan and have a daughter playing for the Tigerettes. Every team, at one time or another, receives breaks for them and against them. That's why they call basketball a game. Does anyone know the definition of a game? I will tell you.......It's a form of PLAY OR SPORT, especially a competitive one played according to rules and decided by skill, strenght AND LUCK. It could be interpreted as GOOD LUCK or BAD LUCK, which included officiating. Sometimes getting the calls or sometimes not getting the calls. That's the game. Good luck to both teams. I hope to see a rematch in the district and regional finals. I would love to see both teams compete in Murfreesboro for the gold ball and represent district 11-AA with class.

  9. That's what I'm saying. This thread wasn't started for all this negativity. Emotions run high for all athletes, coaches, fans, parents, cheerleaders and everyone else involved. Humans say things out of regret, anger, retaliation, etc and it needs to stop. Sportsmanship SHOULD be the grandest thing of high school sports, whether it be players, coaches, fans, etc. These kids and coaches play/coach the game because they love it. Not because of athletic ability, peer pressure, parents, etc. Let the games be decided on the basketball court as the players and coaches do THEIR best game in and game out. Everyone has a bad day/night in everyday life. Sometimes it just happens to be on the court, on the bench or in the stands. Just don't criticize these individuals on their abilities for that "one" game but yet pray for them to understand why things like that happen. GOD has a purpose for everyone. Sometimes failing from time to time is part of the plan. Also, having to deal with immaturity from other players, fans and parents is another one. Let's just say, I'm proud of each and every athlete, whether male or female that goes out every game and practice to give it all they have. It's ALL ABOUT THE YOUNG ATHLETES. Let's stop the childish crap going on. That happens in middle schools and high schools among the students. We should be all adults here and act as such. Just be thankful that athletes still enjoy playing the athletics at various high schools and middle schools with all the trials and tribulations in the world today. Not getting caught up in the evil of the world but trying to better themselves in a manner to represent GOD, their schools, their parents and themselves. With that being, said.....everyone take a look at themselves and ask......would my child/children be supportive of me the way I act at sporting events just as we, as parents support our children who are the athletes? PROBABLY NOT!!!
  10. It's getting about that time folks. Who does everyone think will make the big dance in the 'Boro this year in the respective classes? Would love to see everones top 8 team in each and who you think will be the state champ.

  13. Waverly defeated Perry County 78-48 last night.
  14. Does anyone have the bracket for the boys tournament in the Hickman County Above the Rim Christmas Invitational held at Hickman County High School in Centerville, TN. I believe the teams registered are: Blackman, Clarksville NE, Columbia Central, ELGA (Eagle's Landing, GA), Harding Academy, Hickman County, MBA and Waverly Central.
  15. bob77....Waverly is down this year. Losing 9 seniors off last years team really hurt them. They only have 3 with game experience from last year and one of those has a knee injury. They have 13 freshmen on the team, along with 2 sophomores, 3 juniors and 3 seniors.
  16. I do know the teams registered are: CPA, Dickson County, Ensworth, Harding Academy, Hickman County, Jackson County, Union City and Waverly.
  17. Does anyone have the bracket for this tournament? Or games and game times? I do know the teams entered are Blackman, Clarksville NE, Columbia Central, ELCA (Eagle's Landing) GA, Harding Academy, Hickman County, MBA and Waverly Central. Thanks.
  18. Does anyone have the bracket for this tournament? Or games and games times? Thanks.

    11-AA

Who is going to be the team to beat this year in District 11-AA? Who has "all-star" caliber players?
  21. Anyone got any information on sites, dates or times of the District 11-AA Softball Tournament.
  22. How much is admission? Does that include all parks?
  23. Waverly has some good post players that can also shoot the three. Then if they come out to defend the 3, the post players are also good ball handlers and can't beat you off the dribble. And that's not to say they won't kick it back out for a wide open 3 on the perimeter by one of the guards.
