Herman would not touch Sliger. Herman would place no better than 3rd this past weekend and maybe not at all. D-1 would dominated 285 the no.2 guy from St. Ben would not come close to placing. Sliger would probably pin Herman.

I would like to say congrats to our 4 medalist. To Mr. Matt King good job in a tough weight and bracket. Keep working hard like you have and you will get another shot at a state title. Mr. Kole Bishop he ain't never met a stranger. You can not help but love this kid, he wrestled a great tournament. Will be preseason no. 1 at 145, but will go up and contend for a title at 152 or even 160. To Mr. Brett Usary who looked like a man among boys till the finals. Then he wrestled the best that TN. has to offer to D-1 in 08. Mang is top 5 in the nation in his weight class. Mr. Usary wil get a shot at no.1 in 09 again. This not only goes to Mr. Joel Brimer, but to his family and his Dad, his Coach Congrats to you all I know things have been to hard at times and your faith has carried you through, but good things still happen to good people it is true. Josh Richardson upset Charlie Arrington in overtime. Josh wrestled a good match and won. Josh fixed the main thing he had to do against Charlie was he kept good position, elbows down head tucked squared his stance up, and wrestled well.

Have your kids join a local or area AAU or USA club. They will have to be coached by another coach not the high school coach. Mr. Carter is only interested in F$$tball. Wrestling off season interferes with off season football conditioning which is year round at about 80 to 95% of the schools in the state. I believe coachs of the ball sport have complained. People have told me Carter is an X wrestling coach, he must have hated his time coaching and his time in the sport. Because that is the way he treats WRESTLING. I and alot of others have nothing but loathing for him. He needs to be an X director of the tssaa.

Wrestling fans really need to unite behind all of the teams to bring our region up Science Hill has carried the touch. The last few years Greeneville has been the bearer. Dobynes Bennet is always there very close. The rest of us need to learn from these three. They receive a lot of support from there schools and community. Parents former wrestlers at other schools really need to push schools to get behind the other programs. I know Elizabethton does not even have a dressing room for there wrestlers to dress in, I know a lot of other schools are in the same shape. I know about all of the other schools have constant problems with getting space to even practice. We have been second class long enough. Support WRESTLING.

West Greene beat Elizabethton tonite for the small school region championship. They wrestled at Union County. Elizabethton beat CAk. West Greene first beat Union County then Beat Elizabethton who had beaten them last week at Chucky Doak. Congrats to West Greene kids and coaches good job. Now W.G. and Eliz travel to Seymour to take on Seymour no.1 and Greenback which was Second in that region. That match is friday. I think W,G, should host this since it was at Seymour last year. Eliz. was supposed to host but I now that will not happen.

Section 1 matches were tonite at Union County. 1st round. Union wrestled West Greene, Elizabethton wrestled CAk. West Greene beat Union county, Eliz. beat CAk. Elizabethton then lost to West Greene for the Region small school championship. Congrats to West Greene there Kids and Coachs. They go to Seymour on friday to wrestle Seymour and Greenback. Seymour wrestles Elizabethton, Greenback takes on West Greene. The the winners wrestle for the sub-state championship.

G-Devils should be 5th or 6th range. Remember they are a small class school that wrestles up. This would be a good showing.

I may be wrong, but he had his hands on his knees about every time there was a break in action.he did control the match for about 2 whole periods. Based on what I saw last year from Locklear I new he was solid, but I did not think he would be on Usarys level. And he was on the evening of 1-22 and Usary was not wrestling bad. Robert was controling. Usary did show what he was made of by fighting back and taking control himself on the way to a pin. Region 1 should have two strong entrants at 135 in Chatt. Science Hill kids are wrestling very physical this season. They look good to be so young.

Congrats to G-Devils on the Region 1 championship good job and good luck in C-ville. I may be coming down to watch. G-Devils 39-36 over D.B 119 was the match that put it away for the Devils. 112 was a really good match Adam Mann stepped up and wrestled Mr King a really tough match. Both of the Mann men have a big gas tank. Devils have several kids that can score some points in mid-Feb. Locklear took it to Usary for 5:00 tonite then ran out of gas. King Locklear Myers Joel and Charlie are ready. Work on conditioning and bring back some hardware. Gilliam from D.B. upset Akien tonite good match. To bad Devils can't wrestle in small school where they belong. They will compete in large but would have a real shot to win the small division. Who does S.H. wrestle from reg. 2 and where.

It is between Jeff and sully east for 6th betsy just beat cd. boone and ths match up with some of the mid to lower teams well.
