  1. pd I have to disagree. I have taken my whole team to Coach Lou Rosselli's camps at Edinboro and at Ohio State and they are excellent camps the instruction is second to none, the conditions where always great, and my kids had a great time wrestling and working out 8 to 9 hours a day and goofing off with the camp help. Those summer trips is something graduated wrestlers always bring up when i see them or they come by my house to let me know how they are doing. Those were great summers every year for 10 in a row, we had a lot of fun and really improved or wrestling. Coach Rosselli really lets the kids see what they are really capable of doing.
  2. I don't think P.F. is in our region for small schools. Should be G-devils and the HV-warriors
  3. No one has seen M.E. up in the upper half where the two preseason events were held. There were a lot of very solid looking wrestlers at D.C. sat. D.B. looked good, H.V. looked great for a second year team, they were very impressive. Host school looked good. S.E. will have another solid team. W. G. and C.D. both had good numbers and will be solid before the season is through.
  4. Does anyone have any knowledge of the club. Where and when they practice. Are they wrestling any where just what is going on.
  5. Why 50% forfeits in any state. Needs to be 110.
  6. Pummel you get it, not all seem to as henry said he does not think this will happen. ND and RB are not for it he does not like the ideal. the other 45 or 50 small school coaches who like it does not really matter. I know reg.1 likes it and reg.2 is on board. I think reg.1 has one coach that didn't like the ideal. I believe there would be a large majority of small schools that would favor the separation. In 2006 at the coaches meeting this came up and I believe there were about 60 coaches in favor and 12 or 13 against. These were both large and small schools at the meeting. This will help or sport in the state it will not hurt it. But most only care about who is really no. 1 that is all that is important. Growth, survival girls wrestling growing wrestling prospering these are things that are good in theory, but who is the real no.1 that is what is of utmost importance.
  7. If you do not care to travel. Look at Lou Rosselli's intensive training camps at Ohio State university. Lou is a great guy and a tremendous coach. He will get things out of your kid he never thought he had in him. It is a great experience. Went 4 years in a row.
  8. That will make them stronger and better men. They have my respect. Whether 1 or 32 they fought the fight.
  9. We have a true state. That is a really bad thing to say. These kids work hard and if you ask I bet none of them feel slightest cause there is a D1 and D2. This attitude is what hurts wrestling in the end. As long as we are good or the best sc@#$w the rest. It only counts if you a 1 and thats it we have to have only 1.
  10. I think a small school state is the very best thing that could happen for wrestling. There would be 60 plus teams and i truly believe it would help wrestling grow which is what we want to happen. I believe we would pass 200 programs in a few years and approach 250 in a few more years. It has caused wrestling to grow in all states around us, so i am sure it would never work here in TN. We only need a few to be good not all, wrestling will die if the communities attitude does not change.
  11. This is an attitude that is killing this sport. If you do not always wrestle the perceived best then you are not really accomplished. No one said that any of these kids are the very best they are undefeated they beat everyone that has been put in front of them. That is great accomplishment what else could they have done, all of these young men should feel good as should there parents, coaches, teams and there schools. Congrats guys and way to represent yourselves in our great sport.
  12. S. Mc we do it for your entertainment. Have you been undressing in the middle of any crowed gyms lately. Hope you are doing well.
  13. I went back through my posts and out of 105 only about 7 was about officiating and only 4 of those were complaining. i may have missed a few though. I never ever thought i was a very good coach. I also never thought i complained about the officials that much. Your normal get ticked off and get over it, I was not really commenting on the call you made Sat. More on blindrefs comment End of Discussion. You also do not know me well as a coach, if you did you would know that I always told my under achieving kids that in my then 34+ years around wrestling i had only seen maybe 4 matches that i thought and official had done something that cost a wrestler a match. Now in my 38 years around wrestling I still have only seen a few matches where a ref had cost some one a match. I always taught may wrestlers which were at a vast disadvantage because of poor coaching that the out come was yours to try and control not the opponent not the refs. We did not whine about officiating, as I remember I questioned very few calls. But i am getting old and my memory is going. Also if I were physically able I would as you say give something back to the sport and officiate. As i have given very little in my 38 years of involvement. If I have offended you Rod or you Stan accept may apology. As I know it does not mean as much coming from a low rung whiner of a has-been coach who continually cost his kids championships through his own inadequacies. Thank You Bill Potter
