  1. SaintKnuteII === WHAT DID YOU MEAN ON YOUR POST AT 3:19 PM ON JANUARY 07, 2010 ( QUOTE AND HE'LL DO IT THE RIGHT WAY UNQUOTE) ARE YOU SAYING THAT MC CORD IS DOING SOMETHING WRONG, INCORRECT, OR WHAT

Yeah i let that pass by. Everyone brings up the "R" word! Just like the guy/girl on the next page joined to just to say the "R" word! And what trouble has Dyer Co. got into?? NONE!!!

The "R" word you refer to is recruiting, which is against TSSAA rules. By saying "And what trouble has Dyer Co. got into?? None!!!", it appears you are saying it is OK to break rules as long as you dont get caught????????

  2. I figured if I posted what I heard that someone would tell what they know..Matt said that was the same thing as what he's had heard..I'm from Lake Co but I live in Newbern so I hear a lot about what goes on..None of this may be even trur..Just posted what I had heard to bring it out on the table..I know there's probably going to be a lot of people hoping Dyer Co is doing something...I hear all the rumours but to my knowledge,,Dyer Co hasn't done anything illegal..I was told that Hudson was going to probably go to Dyer Co well before the school started...So..whether it's Gibson Co or Dyer Co..has the right as a freashman to go to either school...As far as Justin Blake ,Rex Oierce..Everyone knows they sat out a year...Nothing illegal there..As for Cedric..Maybe he has been coming from Halls..Maybe he just wanted to stay with a grandmother or an aunt a few days..Don't know the situation...The only thing I believe could happen there is the T.S.S.A.A. may just want to see if Cedric lives with his mom or Dad and can show a utility bill or phone bills that shows he lives in Newbern..If not and he lives with a friend's family or aunt..could be bad news..The only other thing could be if several parents came forward and said maybe Coach McCord may have talked to their kids and maybe tried to steer them to Dyer Co during open gym or maybe playing with the Dyer Co AAU team..I haven't heard of anything being done but I'm sure if a kid played AAU ball..that some of the kids may say..Dyer Co..Not saying he did or is..but if he did..then decided to go back to live at Halls...Does that necessarily mean that Coach McCord or the school actually knows..!He may get in his car and they don't know where he's going..As for mail...maybe he has a P.O. box in Newbern and the school thinks he lives in Newbern..Again..there may not be anything to any of this..I'm hoping there isn't..I would love to see Dyer Co make it to the State..Shame a lot of people aren't for their own county school and other schools in the area.. Just posting what I heard and hoping it would bring someone out that knows more ..if there is more..Be nice to all pull together..I was told during the Dyersburg game the other night that the announcer told the score of the Dyer Co-Obion Cen. game and the gym erupted with applause..That's a shame..!

Justin Blake sat out a year when he transferred but Rex Pierce did not. He moved to Newbern from Dyersburg. Cedric moved to Newbern from Halls.

The relevant language of the TSSAA rule is as follows:

Bona Fide Change of Residence. A move from one community to another that justifies a change of schools. Where a family continues to maintain a previous residence for the residential purposes of that family or any of its members, the move is not one that justifies a change of schools for purposes of the TSSAA Bylaws.

The coach and the principal must complete a form that reads in part as follows:

There has been a bona fide change of residence that meets the following:

New residence is in the territory of the new school (please refer to definition of territory) and outside the territory of the former school. Yes or No

Old residence is outside the territory of the new school. Yes or No

Former residence has been disposed of as a residence of the entire family unit that was residing in the old residence. Yes or No

The information above provides basic information regarding the transfer. We understand that the information does not cover all parts of the eligibility rules set forth in Article II of the TSSAA Bylaws.

We certify that we have reviewed and understood the TSSAA Rules, we have discussed those rules with the above student and with his/her parents that we deemed necessary and that we believe the student??™s transfer is not the result of recruiting or any other reason in contravention of the TSSAA Transfer Rule or other applicable rule.

Signature of Coach: Signature of Principal:

I hope everything was on the up and up with their change of residence because the rules and the form are very specific.

  4. Cudos to Coach Decker and her Trojan squad. They have come a long way in a short period of time. I thought the Trojans would tire out in the third or fourth quarter, but they did not. They were clawing and scratchin the whole game. They ought to be proud of themselves. they had their A game faces on. The Choctaws on the other hand missed a slew of layups and free throws. This game should not have been that close, if the Choctaws had hit the easy layups and free throws. It's good to get the steals , but you have to finish by scoring the easy layups. We have done it in past games,we just didn't do it tonight. It was a win, but it was ugly. I'm sorry Choctaw faithful, but I call it like I see it. If we play this way against a formidable opponent we are in for a spankin in the near future. The Choctaws have got to get to workin on their mistakes and get better, if they are going to get to the Boro. I know we are young in some areas, but we have got to grow up quick, if we are going to make a run at the gold ball. It's getting close to Tournament time, so we need to be gearing up for some big battles. I want to see that well greased running machine, that i know you can be. We don't need to get complacent here, we have got to keep improving and striving to get better. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> "GO BIG ORANGE"

"The Choctaws on the other hand missed a slew of layups and free throws. This game should not have been that close, if the Choctaws had hit the easy layups and free throws."

    It works both ways.

The Trojans missed a slew of layups and short easy jumpers. This game might have had a different outcome if the Trojans had hit the easy layups and short jumpers.

  5. Funny our coach took him out of the game...sat him out. Decker did nothing...she didn't have too cause he was out right after.

He took him out because that was his 4th foul and it was only midway through the third. Don't make it sound like he took him out to discipline him. Get real.

  6. That kid doubled up his fist...should have been out of the game, was the next play...I was standing RIGHT above him when it happened....no sense in that at all.

"Should have been out of the game"???

I guess Rex Pierce's shove of Decker after the ref called Decker for a foul was OK and he should not be out of the game? "No sense in that at all."

  7. Both teams played a good game last night, Congrats to the Trojans on the win, Even though the Boo-Birds were in full force. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Who were the boo-birds and who were they after?

  8. Tony Delk (Haywood) and Carlos Clark (Fayette Ware) have got to be the top 2 from West Tennessee (outside of memphis) in the past 30 years. Both went on to have great careers in the SEC and lengthy careers in the NBA. Is there anybody else who has played 10+ years in the NBA in the past 30 years?

  9. Sorry dude I was sitting straight across w/J. Blake's grandmother...none of DC's FANS rushed the court. Restoring ORDER ON THE COURT.....that's laughable.

I did not say DC fans rushed the court. I said the problem was on the other end of the court, where all of the players were. That is where the swing took place. And yes the principals did assist in restoring order on the court by grabbing a Trojan player that was about to lose his cool and escorting him to the bench where he belonged. What is laughable about that?

  10. what a great game tonight. thomas cooper had a pretty good game from what i heard on the radio.

anyone wanna try to explain the scuffle that happened in the 2nd half where someone was thrown out and dyersburg administrators came out of the crowd to sit a kid down? i wasnt there, so fill me in please:)

Choctaw player swung at Trojan player. He received a tech and was ejected. DHS principals assisted in restoring order on the court. Some man in orange and a cop stood in front of Trojan students like they were the problem when the action was on the other end of the floor.

  11. Des is actually about 6'2 or 6'3. He is extremely long and has been taking a growth spurt over the last year. Hopefully he'll get as tall as his dad. He's around 6'8.

Des has played ball the last couple of years on JV, but just now really started taking bball real seriously. He will be a force his senior year.

Who is his dad? Where did his dad play?

  12. The MAJORITY of students leaving D'burg at that age level are not coming to the county schools. Just a few. They are going to JACKSON by bus.......IMAGINE THAT /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> So what if kids want to come to county not city schools?

Please, adsmom86, tell me how many high school kids from Dyersburg are going to private school in Jackson?

  13. I think DC wins by a large margin! 30 or so. Who is this Rex Pierce guy from DC? I havent heard of him until just recently?

Isn't he the guy that, in 2 and 1/2 years of high school, has attended Dyersburg and then Dyer County and then alternative school and then Dyersburg and now Dyer County?
