  1. May have misunderstood your post. You know after awhile of dodging bullets from every direction, you don`t know who to start firing back at.
  2. Fan you right. Don`t know about being ejected from the game, but that definately was not cool. The " T " was the right call. I say that because there was no injury resulted in the foul and unless something major happens, the refs should not decide the game with one call. But again, that was uncalled for. I`m sure something was said, but gotta be the bigger man and besides I`ll be the first to admit I`m sure our guys are out there trash talking as well. Just part of the game. Gotta handle it better than that.
  3. FOR THE LAST darn TIME PEOPLE, NOBODY BOOED HASKINS. THEY WERE BOOING BECAUSE THEY FELT MCCORD GOT CHEATED. Everyone tries to turn the tables and blame it all on DC when the truth of the matter is you all are the ones acting childish. Our fan base at least doubles everyone elses and in some cases like last night even more so. You ppl hate DC because we have dominated the last 10 years. It shows each and every time some of you post that you`re eaten with jealousy and envy. You hate our fans because we show more support than any team around. GET OVER IT AND GET A LIFE. Do you really think as much shat that is posted on here about violations that TSSAA wouldn`t have looked into it by now. GIVE IT UP ! Maybe they could start a sport called "Bashing DC" then all of you would go home with a gold ball ! Our kids look at us and see that we are proud of them and are defending them by what is said on this board and by the support at the games. Wonder what all of your kids think?
  4. NO. That question doesn`t deserve an answer. That is something a 5th grader would ask. Anyone knows darn well that didn`t happen. You ppl just dig and dig. Speaking of PRR, HC has their own problems to address. At the Christmas tourney in Martin, their assistant coach got in a cussing match with fans and then called the law on them as if he had done nothing. This jerk even told a fan he would meet him in the parking lot after the game. I wish he had. Worse than that, he was talking like that to his own players.. Then I find out he is a janitor or baby-sitter or something at the school, not even a teacher. BTW, did I mention he is also the PRINCIPALS SON? So RR, before you start making a mess on here you really need to clean up your own house. Proud to be a DC FAN !!!!!!!
  5. DUDE, cut the crap. I had to call on a customer in Paris once a week for over 3 years. You definatly have no room to be putting someone`s town down. I mean seriously. If the lake ever dried up you wouldn`t have anything left except about 4000 kissing cousins.
  6. Was that the same player that Ced walked over to and said good game to only to have him jerk away and show very poor sportsmanship.
  7. Well, well The great Henry Co. Paris River Rats Patriots had a good sports year and now they decide to jump on the "lets bash DC" bandwagon with the rest. Fish must not be biting.
  8. I agree with most of this, but a few things should be cleared up. I don`t think the DC fans were booing Haskins, but were booing the fact that McCord didn`t win the COY. I agree it doesn`t matter, but really believe that was the case. I`m curious to know why the WV cheering squad was made to stand in front of the student section. I assure any of you there was no contact between the DC student section and the WV cheerleaders and no adults sat in the student section. THAT STATEMENT WAS AN OUTRIGHT LIE! I sat directly across from the OC student section and they showed their butts all night. As I said earlier, VERY CLASSY !!
  9. UH........ none of them beat DC this year My goodness, my goodness. You ppl have beat this poor dead horse so long, there`s nothing left but a pile of old broken bones. No wrong doings. Get over it. PLEASE !!
  10. Maybe 74 didn`t use exactly the right words, but his thoughts were well understood and agreed with. Several points to address. I do think the COY award should go to the best coach not just the coach with the most wins. Just so happens that should have been McCord in either case. I personally would have been a little embarrassed having to walk right in front of McCord to recieve the award after just suffering my 4th loss of the year to DC. You talk about replacing last years starters with really above average players. Three of DC`s starters had never worn a DC uniform before this year. Surely you don`t think these guys walked off a middle school court ( or Halls HS ) and were that good w/o alot of coaching. It just didn`t happen that way. You being a "coach" should know this ! Also, it was mentioned that DC has 4 of the best players in the district. not taking anything away from the guys at WV or OC as I`m sure they are all good kids, but there is no way that all of those 8 kids had a better year/tourney than Hudson and Janyes. NO WAY ! OC fans showed real class (or lack of ) last night during the DC/WV game. You were the only team to beat a good DC team this year. You`re supposed to wish them well because the better they look, it makes your team look that much better also. Kinda thought some of you might know that. Maybe not. And Finally, A plea to TSSAA. I have heard fans from all schools complain over and over again. SOMETHING MUST BE DONE ABOUT THE OFFICIATING !!! It`s unbelievably horrible. The inconsistantsy night in and night out is crazy, but the so very obvious missed calls and calls that should be no-calls are just beyond belief. The chubby guy last night and the gray headed guy from Dyersburg that called the first game are two of the worst I have ever seen and I watch alot of roundball ! Congrats to DC and all award winners and good luck in the regionals.
  11. Purple, I am not sure about the records either. She is an unbelievable player and had her chances to break those records, but missed 3 or 4 fastbreak but contested lay-ups early in the game. My goodness she is fun to watch ! Good Luck to her and the Lady Rebels, Westview, Milan, and of course the Lady Pioneers in the travels ahead.
  12. That remains to be seen. DC hasn`t look good at several points in the season and I am sure not one to start polishing the gold ball just yet. As a tribe faithful, I can`t say that I totally agree with your post, but I will say they have their work cut out for them to get to the "boro".. About 70% of the season, they have played just good enough to win. It`s hard to say if they can continue that style of play or if that is as good as they are going to be. We will see ! As to my earlier post, it was just a jab at "The Great One From GC" and my opinion on a possible DC/Covington matchup.
  13. Kneel to the all mighty Basketball God. Shoukd we throw in the towel now or may we at least have the honor to play before you one more time? After all, we wouldn`t want you to not have anyone to bash now would we? hehe1 BTW, what years did you play basketball, how many years did you start, and what position did you play? I agree with purple 100%. The Chargers are going to try to keep the game at a medium pace so they can prevent alot of turnovers, therefore holding DC`s fastbreak points to a minimum. I have seen them only twice this year, but I think the DC frontcourt pressure along with trapping the ball will be to much for them. If DC can get 13-16 pts off turnovers, that shoulb be enough to give the tribe a 6-8 pt win. The Chargers do have some really good shooters. Of course this is a mute point as of now. It may never happen.
  14. I agree 100%. Had a man to mention chartering buses the other night. I told him there was no sense in getting buses just to go to Dyer (district) because we gotta go there and get out of there first.
  15. I think that`s why you play your butt off in the regular season so you are not faced with that situation. Therefore the point is mute. I don`t think they are concerned with the past, only things to come.
  16. Nobody wants a loss, or even a scare, including me, and especially to their cross county rival, but keep in mind everybody that we lost alot of talent last year and this IS A REBUILDING YEAR. I realize when you`ve come this far the fans and players expect nothing less than the very best and that`s the way it should be, but look at the age and experience these guys have and you will see where the mistakes are coming from. #1 in state with a young rebuilding team ain`t to shabby !!!
  17. Difference being the trojans didn`t have near the fast break oppurtunities DC had. If each team had scored on 80% of their fast breaks, DC would have had a 10 or 12 pt. advantage.
  18. big, will that be a night game as usual?
  19. loyallady, you are right on it about "the call". The ref did blow the whistle and he did have to chase the player down due to the noise. It was a good call and an obvious one. As far as untimely, a foul in the first quarter can be just as important as one in the fourth. I realize it can change the mo of the game but a bit of advice to any player, if you dont want an untimely call, then dont make an obvious untimely foul. There were bad calls and bad no calls on both sides of the ball. A UC player made a pretty dive to get a loose ball and then slid 6 feet on the floor with no call. A DC player takes a deliberate shoulder ( game had to be temperarely stopped ) and does not get an intentional foul called. I`m not crying, heck we squeezed out a great win, but just know that it gors both ways.
  20. It`s true that CJ would be considered the team leader, however, Rex has been the one to carry the team all season and CJ has turned the ball over more this year than in the years past. I`ve seen McCord bench him on more than one occassion this year because of his play or should I say lack of. With that being said, he can still make some of the most unbelievable assist I`ve ever seen.
  21. I agree with alot of what you are saying and may have the answer. Pro and College roll models. They do it all the time. Don`t know about the rules or how anyone can avoid them but be assured it happens, even in high school, all over the state and country. Just think, some of you think DC is the only school to ever get a transfer. BTW/ the trojans looked really good the first half. It will come around.
  22. Yep. The ole fix `em up bracket almost collasped on Westview. My only time to see HC this year, so don`t know what they have looked like in the past, but they were awsome tonight. One of those games you hate to see a losing team. Adsmom, you are right. I sat behind the HC bench and the asst. coach was a total jerk. He`s a big man cussing in front of the kids, spouting off at an older gentleman (that was minding his own business), and wanting to meet a fan outside. Quick draw McGraw, don`t be so quick to talk about bogus foul calls. The first 3 quarters DC players couldn`t look at HC w/o getting a foul called. Officiating wasn`t great, in fact it was horrible, but it was called both ways. In the end, DC just wanted it more.
  23. I asked this question on another thread w/o response. Is it true that one cannot officiate a game if he/she attended one of the participating schools? I was told this was right, but could not find it in writing.
