Boone from what people say about their players have not showed anything mind blowing the three times I have seen them. They drive and dish drive and dish. Maybe when the season gets going they will show something. This league is wide open after SH. I still think they are the top dogs this year. DB looked like they have the biggest team they have had in years. There will be some good games this season. Guess I'll get a better vehicle for all the gas I'll be spending this season.

Thoughts on tonight? SH looked shakey on d but still way ahead from what I saw. THS looked better than expected. Boone looked the same as I saw last weekend. DB will contend for a spot near the top. Should be an exciting season.

Yes they had all their players there. I talked with one of the dads and he was impressed with SH. That just shows Bearden has room to improve. Bearden played Boone and was able to win by 15 or so. Boone did not put as much pressure on Bearden as SH was able to do. They should still be able to make the state tournament. IMO.

Bearden lost to Science Hill Saturday by 30 in their first game. They beat Daniel Boone by 15 or so in their second game. What of defense do they run? It was wild looking from the stands. Like so kind of man but don't leave your side of the floor??

Gregory played played and so did the tall blonde. Head is her name. I didn't see Webster there on Saturday so maybe she was hurt. One post player did well but I do not know here name. SH looks like they are 8 or 9 deep again.

Ok after watching today at SH. I will say SH by 20 plus both games. Was etown missing anyone? They did not look as good as the pedestal people are putting them on.

Play day at SH. Got to see Boone and SH. Both played Knox Bearden. SH won by 30 and Boone lost by 15. SH looked good. Saw some new faces. Boone played good at times but do not have an inside game.

Come on now. You said it best. Riverdale had 2400 students and 3 this year just happen to be star basketball players at their old school. Which happens to be players that fill holes in their roster from last year. Please. You ain't fooling no one. I am sure someone owns apartments and just happen to have an opening in their lease for a year. Shelbyville was crooks back in the day and now it continues within the family. Don't they all run that AAU program down their?? I'm just glad the girls enjoy winning at all costs. That will help them in college or juco.

I am sure they are great shape practicing daily. However the fact remains that they would not be very good if they did not get all the transfers. Davenport-Siegel Alley-Mt. Juliet the 3 players that "moved" in this year. The only true one is Middleton and maybe other subs but you don't hear about them because they can't get in the court cause of all the other transfers. IMO

Based on last year SH will have Lyons Tarter for sure then I would say Gregory cause she was the first off the bench last year. Then maybe Webster and Head. They had the most PT last year. Just guessing based off of last season

No recruiting. The job market is not that good in the Boro. Lets just be real. I am sure the girls are all great as most kids are. I would want to move into a winner as well.

No one District 1 will come within 10 points of SH this season. MW might be the only team to be under 10 or even win.

Pick- You are talking about the season. This is talking about these two games only. What are your thoughts on THIS game? I have stated mine above. I do agree with Topper than SH will be more athletic. It hard to get a shot off with someone guarding you.

Personally I think SH is better by 10 to 15 points. It could be close in elizabethton because I remember when they went there a few years ago elizabethton shot like 30 free throws or something crazy.

Donaldson is not going to help East all that much. I saw her last season at mtsu against Science Hill. She was on a better team and couldn't handle the pressure. I think East will make the region but a long shot to make noise.

How do you see the region stacking up? My top 8 are as follows: 1. Bearden- coming off a state tourney 2.Farragut- lost a lot but has a lot back 3. Maryville- heard the beat SH this summer 4. Heritage- play are and tough, heard the got a few kids in. 5. Oak Ridge- very athletic 6. William Blount- always seems to be a thorn for somebody 7. Hardin Valley- usually pretty soid 8. Anyone else

We are one month away from practice! How do we see the Region stacking up this year? Lots of changes I will say. My top ten will be like this this until Nov. 14th when West and SH play. 1. Science Hill 2. Morristown West 3. Cocke County 4. Daniel Boone 5. Dobyns-Bennett 6. Morristown East 7. Tennessee High 8. Volunteer / Sevier County SH has A LOT to prove with losing players and coach. West played them tough twice so it will it be interesting to see Nov. 14th who the front runner is going to be. Cocke from what people have said on here will be good. Boone is up and coming. DB should be solid with their big Post and quick guard. East is just a shot in the dark for me. THS is always solid but who will fill Mitchell's shoes? Volunteer has been in the a couple of times the past few years as has Sevier County so they might sneak up on some people. Well a friend of mine told me that Science Hill lost 4 games last week during camp. So maybe they aren't as solid a pick as we thought.

Oakland is like the step child of their district. Smyna could open some eyes. I know they had some good games last year but could not finish the deal. Anyone know where the teams listed in this tread are going for camp? I would not mind taking in some games while am in Middle Tennessee for work during June and July.

Who are the favorites to bring home the gold ball? I know it is early but with spring practices starting to fire up, it got me wondering. I would have to stay 1. Blackman 2. Riverdale 3. Bradley Central 4. Anitoch 5. Science Hill 6. Knoxville Bearden 7. Mt. Juliet 8. Brentwood I know that all depends on who recruits the best around the boro but, hey....just kidding, but we all know someone will get someone.

Lets be real. Yes talent is leaving, but coaching is always coaching. SH was successful before this group of seniors left. THey will be successful for the next 3 or 4 years. You do not have to like Barnwell but if I am right SH has been in the region semi finals 4 out the last 6 years. So that is not this one group of players. As for Lyon and Tarter, they will not be the whole team. Gregory is there and the tall blonde from JV and their super quick kid, Webster might be her last name.

I think you are half right. Bearden over Tenn High but I'm taking SH in a CLOSE one over Farragut. Under 5 in both
