I tend to agree.. Only loss in 98 was to BGA ( 31-10). S-Pitt was tough that yr in the 3rd rd too. Score ended up (42-32).

Wasn't BGA in Div II that yr? And maybe the best high school runningback that I've personally seen. Mister Troy Fleming. I think he mightta won a Mr. Football in 98. As did Scruggs from TC for the 2nd yr in a row.

it would be interesting to see what he could do at a large school but after watching teams like south pittsburgh, alcoa, maryville and smyrna..........you come to realize there are a lot of truly dynamic players out there that are just as good if not better than marco........that cobb kid at alcoa amazed me...........if tennessee wants to beat florida sometime in the near future they need to do whatever it takes to get this kid and start him IMMEDIATELY AT QUARTERBACK.............after years of watching ric clausen, erik ainge and johnathan crompton struggle I am ready for a man at quarterback for the vols

He couldn't beat Maryville, what makes you think he could beat Florida? Brent Burnette is the best QB in TN.

Brent Ford from TC is a Sophmore. Reminds me a lot of the #24 Robinson kid from SP. We could very well be seeing his name up for a Mr. Football award in a couple yrs.

I too think the Mighty Yellow Jackets will be contenders in 2008, they'll be LOADED with jrs. 2009 is just about a lock for them to get the GOLD BALL. They should have around 20 seniors that yr. If they're still in 1A. Congrats to the Pirates for a great season.

OK, i just watched the GC vs Hampton highlights on the GC website, Hampton WILL be mercy ruled, I also believe that any of Region 4 would beat Hampton with ease.

Hello poss! It's been a long time but tell us Hampton fans...how does SP compare to Trousdale 2 years ago?

SP are not as good as the 2005 Yellowjackets imho, but they are great none the less.

After they put the TC mercy rule in effect on your little dawgs Friday night, you'll be thinking a little differently of region 4. Mark my words!! Any 1 of those 3 teams in Region 4 would have waxed your Dawgs. Those big lineman you got are to slow to hang with these guys.

Quit Crying already. They beat you guys worse than thay beat TC, I was at the TC game and listened to GV/SP on radio. SP never punted the ball, they were going for it on 4th down and getting it every time, and TC beat you guys in the regular season. I vote for TC being the best in Region 4 this yr. And another gold ball will be filling our cabinet in 1 of the next 2 yrs. I have seen South Pitt now play 5 times this season. I have seen Gordonsville only twice. I know what I saw tonight at Phillip Beene Stadium, but I will not make a prediction until Turkey day. It should be a good environment between two good teams and more importantly two Living Legends walking each sideline next Friday night.

I also noticed how the SP 24 kid got a penalty for celebration and was seen taunting the TC sideline on numerous occasions, and later had to be helped off the field. Exactly what he deserved. If Vic can get this boy under control, he might not end up like Pacman or Vick, he has exceptional football size, strength, speed. An awesome athlete indeed. Has he had any offers from big colleges? Can he make the grades to stay in school?

I noticed that 4-5 SP players had to be helped off the field, I hope none of them were hurt(maybe cramps?). Zone got an update?

heres something to think about, Trousdale had 8 fumbles vs Watertown in a 7-0 loss. They were inside the 30 on mare than 3 occasions. Trousdale missed a game winning 30 something yd field goal by 1 ft in a 9-7 loss vs Friendship. Trousdale was 11 points from being 9-1 and probably ranked 2nd in the state . Just wanna throw that out there.

Watertown will roll in this one. Region 4 will probably sweep region 3 again. Look at what South Pitt did to LV. SP is probably the only team in the region that could compete in region 4.
