  1. We finally have brackets, and its Overton vs Franklin in round 1. Most of us have seen this match-up before in round 1... Here we go.

This one will be a good one. Most will probably pick Franklin but I think Overton will give the Rebels all they want. I think both teams will be ready and both have solid offenses and defenses. For Franklin Lee and Ford have to play well and run well which could be hard against Overton's defense. The passing game had better be on because Overton's secondary is pretty good. For Overton they have to stay healthy and make the big play. Tez H. has to play solid and hit the holes. Dobbs has to be on target and make wise decisions. The defense for Overton has to be able to stop the two backs from Franklin and not give up the cheap plays. I think this one will be close, I'll say Overton wins 21-20.

This one may come down to the QB position...................if so; win will go to Overton. The Overton QB is excellent and can make plays.

I agree...it MAY come down to the QB....But Kuivenen has impressed me the last few games...adv Franklin....GAME OVER!!!!

  2. Any word on other signees, interested colleges, etc.? If they get as much support from the coaching staff as was demonstrated last year during recruiting season ( and again, why should anything change?) these kids are basically on their own after the season is over. Good luck kids and keep in touch! Remember all the help you received from your HS coaches to realize your dreams of playing on Saturdays and be sure to give back with the same self-sacrificing generosity that they have demonstrated for you. Yeah, right!

I would like everyone to give there thoughts...Maybe I should start a new thread.BUT Sarah Pahlin , You might have a good input on this as well......Here Goes

I have to agree with HSBFan1 to an extent. I think/ Thought that Williamson County has had too much talent over the last few years to NOT see more players moving to the next level OR being Recruited by Div 1 and / or Div 2 schools. After having friends and aquaintences at several area schools, It seems like this is an ongoing problem. (To me it looks like the Coaches do not want to take the extra time) For instance....Wilco was not represented well, if even AT ALL in the All Star game, and I have heard that Coaches have to nominate their players.

Also by asking around, many families and kids do not know HOW or WHAT the recruiting processes are. I think the Athletic directors have to be more involved....Please give me your thoughts/comments.

  3. you know why massengale is getting recruited.. because he is 6' 6".. you know why judson is getting recruited.. because he is 6' 7"...thats it.. college coaches are looking for body size not talent... they will make you a better o lineman.. they want size... connor is 6' 2".. he has twice the amount of talent that massengale and judson has he just wasnt given the size... if you give him an extra 3 or 4 inches... there would be know question he would be going d 1... not only d 1 he would be going to a major college. im talking SEC.. this isnt about college recruiting though.. this is about your high school season... to take away an award from a senior that clearly deserved it is just wrong.. connor deserved this award more than anyone

Im trying to figure out why NOT ONE Franklin player was on this All Star team??? How do they get selected.

I do think Connor , Alex Ford, Keylo Lee, Nick Gordon, Graham Nichols should have been there...Craaaaazy

  4. Well either you are a college coach that was watching the game or a "dumb as usual parent", or a coach such as me that was watching from the stands. Someday I hope to be there and get to coach in that game, but I was watching in the stands with several other coaches. We all would have done different things after a play is already decided upon and ran!!! The better team won on Saturday. Leave it alone and don't get on here to bash coaches!! I guess you got outcoached earlier in the year or in the playoffs and that is why you were watching the game!!! (unless you are "dumb parent" /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Dumb Parent?? Where do you "Supposedly " coach...I would like to know , as many others on here...If you are man enough to call players parents "Dumb" ...Man up and identify where you coach.

Maybe it explains WHY you were in the stands instead of a Championship game. Obviously you'll need many many more years to mature .

  8. Hey, Wo slow down KingZ...I can tolerate a lot of trash-talk on these boards (because that is CoachT's true purpose). But I must tell you that you crossed a line when you took a stab at my O-Line buddies. Trust me when I say, they have earned every win, yard, and accolade they have received. God knows putting up with Coach O's constant onslaught is more than enough to drive the typical high school athlete to take up playing video games full time. They may be an over-achieving-scrappy little bunch, but there is nobody else in this world that I would rather have in their place.

Be proud of the label "scrappy" boys...it means you are willing and able to fight with everything you have for every last inch. because you know at the end of the day, those inches make the difference between winning and loosing.

    Tha Shark, Big I, Cross-Bones, C-Walk, Combos

I agree....this O-Line has been like no other. They have met BIGGER and FASTER opponents many times this season and got the job done. It says alot when a team can put up over 35 points AVG per game...throughout their whole season. A great example was the McCallie game coming back in the fourth quarter racking up 26 points in the quarter for a come from behind win. They just dont know the word "Quit"...It shows when you seem them still blocking downfield where most lineman stop after the initial block. Ill keep my money on this O-Line....

  9. This is always one of my favorite matchups to watch during the year. Mainly because these two always seem to be too evenly matched to preduct an outcome. Basically, anything and everything can happen when these two get together. Overall, it would again appear that these two are evenly matched headed in. I think FHS has a slightly more explosive offense, and Brentwood has a slightly better defense, but both are great on both sides of the ball.

Its games that are this evenly matched in which the little things are really magnified. Finishing blocks, effective tackling, limiting penalties, etc. In games like these, we often see the turnover margin have a huge effect on the outcome. Sometimes its that one extra drive off a fumble or interception that can really turn the direction of the game (as we saw in this game earlier this year). I don't think this game will be any different. The winner of this game will be the team that executes the little things better, and who makes the fewest mistakes.

    100% correct....

  10. Boastful Brenwtood??? Over-Confident? Dizzy Dean once said "It aint braggin' if you can do it." Truer words have never been spoken.

Feisty Franklin? When I think of the word "feisty" I think about a team who is scrappy and will fight to win. Nothing about Franklin is "feisty" or "scrappy." A "feisty" team does not give a game away in the fourth quarter. A "feisty" team does not fold-like-a-chair when the region championship is on the line.

Franklin fans will swarm this board name-dropping and talking about revenge, but let me tell you Rebels a few things. Your "poster-boys" #4 , who you all tote as the "best running combo in the state", but those two could not find their way around or through the B-Wood Defensive front, which in turn meant you O-line was not able to push our front-7 around. #9 (Mr football candidate) we saw, and conquered one "Mr. Football" last week.

How can you call Franklin "feisty"??? How is a Defense who could not get off a single block, "feisty"??? How is a Offensive backfield that could not get outside our Defense more "athletic"??? How is an O-line who continually missed blocks, "Feisty"???

When I think about the Franklin Rebels, I think about what they called the Hendersonville Commandos this past weekend..."OVER-RATED"

Thank you very much....This is what we needed.....This will help fuel that fire....Please ...Please...keep talkin...

  11. Don't know who you think you are foolin, because all the knowledgeable people who are posting on this know you are "homer domer" just had to come back under an assumed name --- no wait you were already an imposter. Posing as a ND graduate, Offensive coordinator, College scout and on and on and on. How ironic you came back as a girl. Your team changes week to week unlike most true fans. Franklin fans don't claim you as I'm sure no one that knows you will.

As for the Rebels in Franklin. What a show you put on and we had nothing for you. Hope you guys go all the way. As for the end of the game and the 2 penalties, I was disappointed in that and that is not how these guys play or are coached. I will apologize for us if no one else has. Good luck

Hendersonville Commandos, you guys have had a wonderful season and have good reason to be proud. You have accomplished more than anyone expected. To the Seniors thank you for the time and effort. To the guys returning, keep building on your success. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

    Thanks....truly class.....

Secondly, their is only one maybe two fans on here that is talking smack about Yazzie and still about the game.

Yazzie seems to be a great athlete..congrats to him and Good Luck.

Goldendome aka Lou holtz 66 aka sarah pahlin???? isnt an FHS fan....he supports Independence so he doesnt represent or speak FOR Franklin fans. he is just bored and trying to stir some excitement up Im sure.

Personally I like the trash talking to an extent (except when you call players out by name) it shows we have passionate football fans in Mid tennessee...Congrats on a great season, your boys and sons played great this year.

  12. Well it's Game Day and time for some Socks and some Crow to be handed out after the game. Hope your mouths and stomachs can handle all of it. Lord knows that's all that has been said is how bad the Commandos will go down and how talented the Rebels are and blah blah blah.

After fighting thru all the crap, statistics, worthless comments displayed by former waterboys and football managers - Guess what ???????? C'mon you know, C'mon?????? Ok I'll tell you because I'm quite sure you can't understand because you have reallly never experienced it before. They still have to come in and play the GAME. Take all The load of BS (common opponents, thousand yard backs, D1 this and that, and yes evn the Yazzie Factor) and file it away til next week. Tonight it"s 11 on 11 and may the best TEAM Win.

Proudly serving you ...One BIG Crow....good game

  13. something tells me Chaz will play

the kids got a huge love for the game and i doubt a thumb will keep him on the bench

oh and in case you forget, this is a guy who will kill you with his legs and last time i checked your thumb isn't on your feet!

Good point...but a friend told me it was his thumb on his throwing hand....which is definately a problem..for passing AND believe it or not RUNNING...because I have noticed Chaz likes to grab that ball and run as opposed to tucking it..( maybe he is still deciding to run or pass)...

Its hard to say , and Im sure he will do whats best for his team....he still maybe play defense or maybe he could catch swing passes etc?

Anyway...Congrats to Chaz for his nomination and for Graham Nichols on his nomination.

  14. Here is a Centennial fan who is VERY proud of the Cougars. It has been a great year so far and it isn't over yet. Those boys have played with heart all season and they aren't through yet. The Franklin game is over. Bigger and better things are ahead for the Cougars.

What a game, ...as somebody has said, even with the loss , you can be proud of your team..You have broken many school records, and as a Franklin supporter, I am Happy for Chaz and the boys for what they have accomplished thus far...Congrats on a fine season
