UTC did a better job this year of recruiting local players. Here are some Freshman that are from the area:

Michael Saporito, QB - Notre Dame H.S.

Patrick Flanagan, RB - Ooltewah H.S.

Torrey Love, RB - Dalton H.S.

JaMichael McGoy, RB - Red Bank H.S.

Brent Price, DB - Gordon Lee H.S.

    Ben Hixson, RB - Baylor

Toby McKenzie, OL - Cleveland H.S.

Nathan Wehunt, DL - Notre Dame H.S.

Dustin Freeman, OL - Ridgeland H.S.

Davey Smith, OL - Boyd Buchanan H.S.

Matt Hale, WR - Boyd Buchanan H.S.

Brian Arnold, TE - Soddy Daisy H.S.

Tyler Rich, DL - Red Bank H.S.

Those are just the freshman. There are several other upperclassmen from Chattanooga on the roster.

So hopefully in a couple of years, we will see a change!

By the way, good luck "P!"

I think there is OL who is playing as freshman from Copper Basin?

Ryan Moore of McCallie, if he isn't already will be among the ranks of the elite QB's in the state, if not the country by the end of the season. He's going to have to carry a pretty big burden for McCallie this year, but it's nothing that he can't handle. He's got an amazing arm, and he makes good descisions, as well as being a fine leader.

    R. Moore is a great QB but I heard he will probably sign a pro Baseball Contract I think he should look at kelley Washington & Chris Wienke and others who have come back to Football that Minor league ball is not that great.

For those who don't know, you can Edit something that you have posted to the message boards. This leaves you not having 7 posts about the same thing, when in reality, you can have one.

If you post a message and you find a mistake, go back to the message, then look above it and you'll see an edit link ... click on it, once you are there, you have two options ... (1) edit the message there ... or ... (2) delete the message entirely. To delete it entirely, click on "Only the original Poster or a Moderator may delete this message". After you have done either one of these, click "send". This will take you back to the boards.

Thanks. Maybe, we can cut down some of the double/triple/gradruple messages.

Good job someone should have rules & directions posted at the top of the board for some folks! Some also don't get the reply button! :o

Is Grundy for real? Is Seq. Co. that bad? Has

Colquette revived a program or just in weak region?

And just has the best winning % at Grundy Co.?

Well Sequatchie Co. played pretty bad last Thursday night but was pretty good in preseason scrimmages so I don't think that game can tell a lot about either team but I think Grundy Co. is a pretty good football team I don't think they can win the State Title but should have little problem winning there Region!

Good Luck the Rest of the Year!

IF you have ever heard sport talk 98.7 out of Nashville then you would know why they need to plug here and other places...Thier show is a awful, compared to sport talk...

I think you are talking about 99.7 with Plaster, Biddle, Fulton & the gang? :D I listen to those guys almost every day!

With all due respect to Sequatchie, how can he possibly rank teams when he is obviously stuck in Dunlap and can't possibly see the teams in action. Each week you can tune into Stump On Sports Late Night (Comcast Ch. 46 @ 11 pm)and get the only true ranking of Chattanooga teams. Keep in mind this is for Hamilton County only. Our actual top ten covers Hamilton County in Tennessee, and Catoosa and Walker County in Georgia. Also the complete top ten is listed in The Thrifty Nickel each week.

    Chattanooga Top Teams

    1. Hixson

    2. Soddy Daisy

    3. Tyner

    4. Boyd Buchannan

Keep in mind this just lists the top 4 as there were Georgia schools in our top 10.

I do this Poll for fun!!;) I can't believe how serious some of you take this I don't see any other poll I don't know what you are talking about "Stump on sports" because I don't have comcast cable I have DirecTV I don't even live in the city of Dunlap! I base this on my personal feelings of seeing highlights scores & quality of opponents as well as there rankings A,AA,AAA etc... I don't know why you and others bring Georgia or Alabama teams into this it's a Tennessee High School Sports Website I don't care if Tom Weathers & Dade Co. goes undefeated and wins the state title he is in Georgia. I think you are being selfish to not include teams outside of Hamilton Co. in a Chattanooga Poll because every team in Hamilton County plays in a Region with teams outside the County border!! :)

Maybe the Indians are not in the top 10. Who Cares!! If you are from Sequatchie, they are still your home team and you should back them WIN or LOSE! The Indians don't need any more "fair weather fans"!

Good Luck to Grundy, I hope they have a great season!

GO INDIANS!! Good Luck on Friday against Meigs!!

Your on the money Indianfan when I was in school we had classmates not many of them but a few who actually pulled for teams like Bledsoe Co. & Whitwell and that is fine as long as they aren't playing Sequatchie that week I know I have cheered on Marion Co. & S. Pittsburg in the State Championship games or in any game they have because they are local Valley teams but not when they play the Indians!

Thats like people living in the State of Tennesee there whole life and are Alabama or Georgia Football Fans I just don't get it!! :D:o

I know you picked McCallie but I just want to know why this is all in fun.

Does it make a diffrence I picked McCallie because they have beaten Tyner before and that they had not lost a game a Finley Stadium & the whole recruiting private school think (lets not get into that)! :D

Good luck against the Wildcats Friday! :)

No sequatchie I am not ccky i jut spoke the truth!! You cm inhere talking up the indians and having them ranked in your tp 10, when they arent in th top 5 in the valley(marion, grundy, bledose, south pitt, and whitwell) are al better!! So i can understand being prud of your school, i too am from sequatchie, but lets get real now with your poll!! As forme only having 6 posts the reason is because unlike you i can not sit on th internet constantly and wasttime making up top 10's that amount to squat!! :)

I don't think your from Sequatchie County but if you are you must not have seen any of the pre-season scrimmages or the Jamboree did you go to the scrimmages at N.D. or Moore Co. or at home against 5A Coffee Co. I did they won all but Moore Co. scrimmage and thats because like Thursday night they played like crap but you could also say it was becasue of a 2 1/2 hr. bus ride! I have been going to Sequatchie Co. Football games going on 13 years and I have see some great Wins for the Indians like in 1990 a 7-6 Win over Marion Co. who went on to Win the State Title or later that year a Home loss to Gatlinburg-Pittman 31-6 in the State Quarterfinals. In 1993 beating defending State Champion Oneida 35-0 in a First Round game at Home. I have seen some great players wear that Purple & Gold uniform like Sam Hudson, Jackie Fletcher (I think the Oneida game they had a sign that read "Jackie Who?" and Fletcher showed them by putting on a great game I think he was the best Athlete to ever play for the Indians that I have seen! Other guys like Trent Young and more recently Brandon Johnson, Josh Cain, Derek Summers & Mark Bureau those are just some of the ones I remember. This 2002 is loaded with talent just give them time a great QB in Jordon Cain a Sophmore RB-DB in Justin price and a load of talented Freshmen like Brandon Lewis, Chase Whited and Lineman Chuck French who will be a monster! I think we may be a year away from a great run with only 4 seniors this year but I have faith that this team can have a great year if they return that spark that we got to see in the preseason!

Last week is over they are preparing for Meigs County team who comes in with a lose as well so I look forward to the short trek to Decatur on Friday!

I do think the Indians are better than a couple of teams you mentioned but it will be decided on the field! :D

they better show up with something!! They should have showed up to the grundy game with kleenexes! I cant wait to see sequatchies next poll. He may have the indians ranked up to nymber 4 by now!! It is one thing to pull for your team but to be blindly opitmistic is another thing. Mackersie got reamed by colquette PERIOD!

You are very cocky for just your 6 post on the board you must be a freshman somewhere!:)

By the way my poll is out for this week! :)

I know the game was played in Sequatchie but did the Sequatchie team even show up! :)

Here is my take on the game I mean severe stinging by those Jackets! :):)

Lets Start off saying Grundy ran almost the same play all night because they didn't have to run anything else the Indians were terrible I say no more Thursday night games for Sequatchie County after seeing that I think Grundy has a real good shot at winning there Region again this year! Now for the Indians they were no where near the same team thats been playing the past few weeks! But they can forget about Thursday like it never happend because the Region games start this week and both them and Meigs Co. come in 0-1 on the year this weeks game means more than last weeks as it is a Region game! I think most would agree that the team that was on the field Thursday for the Indians was not the same team that played in the preseason or last weeks Jamboree but I am betting that Win or Lose that they show up with more fire and intensity at Meigs County this coming week!

The Season is still very Young! :)

SEQUATCHIE? did u just forget to put cleveland in there, they lost, but by 4 to ateam u have as a top 5 team. just doesnt make much sense.

I think I had them 12 and stuck East Ridge in that spot instead. Things should start to really shake out this week!

Could you post your Poll on this thread so it will be easier to find.

    Thanks! :)

  15. Last Week/This Week

4./1. Boyd-Buchanan (Back to Back over two 4A teams)

3./2. Soddy-Daisy (Beat RB so did Ooltewah they lost!)

6./3. Baylor (squeezed by Cleveland 7-3 next N.D.)

    8./4. Tyner Academy

    1./5. McCallie

    NR/6. Tellico Plains

    2./7. Ooltewah

    NR/8. Hixson

    NR/9. Grundy County

    NR/10. Polk County

    13/11. South Pittsburg

    5./12. East Ridge

    NR/13. McMinn County

    11/14. Notre Dame

    NR/15. Howard

Notables: Whitwell, Chatt. Central, Bledsoe Co.

Where is Sequatchie at to come in here and talk about the indians? Didnt he have them ranked in his "top 10"

I have been busy I was hoping to get some things done Friday to go watch the Vols play today in Nashville but that ain't going to happen so I will have to watch them on the duece.

I will say that Grundy ran almost the same paly all night because that is all they had to run the Indians were terrible I say no more Thursday night games for Sequatchie after seeing that I think Grundy has a real good shot at winning there Region again this year! Now for the Indians they were no where near the same team thats played the past few weeks but if the Score is correct the they can forget about Thursday like it never happend because the Region games start this week and both them and Meigs Co. come in 0-1 on the year this weeks game means more than last weeks as it is a Region game and yes I did have Sequatchie ranked 10th in my poll of 15 in the Chattanooga area because I think few would disagree if they saw the INdians this preseason in scrimmages and just last week in the Jamboree that the team that was on the field Thursday was not the same team that played in the preseason but I am betting Win or lose that they show up with more fire and intensity at Meigs Co. this coming week!

The final was 36-20 but no one is certain who won. I've seen it both ways in several places. Anyone know for SURE?

I just Checked 2 TV Station websites in Chatt. and the Online Chattanoogan.com and all three have Hixson the Winner!

I'm not originally from TN, I'm from Hoosier country.

So I just want to ask the question to those who say it doesn't have anything to do with race or oppression.

Are you proud to be a Southerner, or a Tennessean?

Because I see three times as many Rebel flags across this state than TN flags. I don't see TN flags flying in the back of vehicles, I see the "Pride of the SOUTH" flying.

I guess the better question, coming from a "Yankee", is "What exactly is Southern Pride all about?"

I'm proud to be a Hoosier, a graduate of Gallatin High, a Tennessean, and an American. But I don't have enough room on my car to fly all of those flags. So why is this one the one so widely flown?

I'm just looking for a little clarity.

I think one thing about flying the "Confederate Flag" instead of the Tennessee State Flag is because it is hard or at least it was for me to find a TN State Flag!

I proud my self of being a Tennessean 1st, Southerner 2nd, and American 3rd!

I found it strange and sad:) during HS to hear fellow students say I can't wait to get out of this town and couldn't think of living any where else but my town and in the Great State of Tennessee! :)
