Wish we could all get along! I got a ton of friends at Polk and a lot of respect for the Wildcats. Central will have to bring the "A" game to pull this one out. One positive thing I can say is that Cental is learning how to win games now when things are not going their way. Couldn't say that in the past! High school football is fantastic, just got to keep it in prospective that it is still just a game!!

Hands down for me was 2007 McMinn Central and Polk Co. Polk led from the start with Central tieing the game on the last play and going for 2. Central won after stopping Polk going for 2 on the 1 foot line. Way too much drama the entire game to put into words here!!

I thought the McMinn game was at Central. According to the Coach T schedule it is in Athens. So is the game at Central or Mcminn? /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

You left out a couple from McMinn Central,, TWO Time All State DE Ben Stiles and last year All State LB Maury Ragland. ALso Zack Rayl will get votes at QB and Safety. D J King is a force at DE also.

One of my favorite things to do every year is to fill out the Murphy Fair preseason football magazine because it always gives me a chance to have a say in the all-state teams each and every year and it also is a way to compare my own personal all-state selections to those at the end of the year. If anyone else has any all-state caliber names that they would like to let be known I would love to see some of the names so I can follow them throughout the coming year.......

Correct!! He is also getting to coach with a legend on the same level as as Gary Rankin (Alcoa). It isa great move for his family and as young as he is, can be a way to a big job as head coach somewhere. It has really been a pleasure being around him the past three years and being a part of his program.

Loudon looked pretty good after they quit turning the ball over. Line played very good. I understand they had a couple of starters out too. Now for the Chargers, all I can say is we got to find some depth and someone that can get some enthusiasium going! True, a lot of starters were out, no starting lb's, or de's, or qb and rb, so it really was hard to evaluated Central's performance. Scrimmage was also cut a little short due to weather.

Good luck to the Redskins next year, they will definitely be competitive in their district, or region or whatever is is called now!

I never said they were the same. Polls are polls. Most if not all are subjective and ultimately come down to a group of opinions. Now who is more likely to be ranked ahead of the other? just random numbers I am throwing out btw... a team that has won state 3 of the last 6 years and been to state 12 of the last 13 years and is 37-2.. or a team who is 38-1 and has never been to state? the teams have played eachother twice, with both teams winning a game. now i am sure you will pick the 38-1 team to prove your point, but you know for a fact that isn't how it really works.

You are correct, polls are just opinions and unfortunately a lot of the polsters on the high school level don't even know where some of the schools are located much less have seen them play!! Jamin Godfrey from McMinn Central is getting a lot of attention right now. Hit 55 of 60 Kick-offs into the end zone last year as a first year kicker.

Good guy, but never had a lot of tallent when he was at Central. Hard to give any evaluation based on the tallent.

Was told today that Central did very well against Soddy Daisy, but no details, somebody help us out.

1's vs 1's Central won 2-1. 2's vs 2's Central 3-1. Defense looked very good, S-D didn't want their qb hit or could have been a lot worse, they couldn't block Ben or D J (D Ends). Offensively, Central moved the ball pretty good, had a couple of dumb penalties that called back 2 scores. (blocking behind the play). Last Central drive was nothing but mid-line and BOB drove it right down the field. All in All a good showing by the Central "30"!

Central is District 5 AA Champs! Final was 13 to 3 over Polk and will host Sequatchie Co. on monday. Polk Co will travel to Marion Co. I was really proud of both teams effort and sportsmanship tonight. Polk has really impressed me this season by playing as well as they have and being so young. You folks have a class of Sophmores like Central's senior class, your day will come. Good luck next week to both teams in the Region!!

Hey 6+4! Love the Blue Cool Aid!! That wasn't what I was told by three different coaches, but I was't there when it was decided so I can't swear for sure. Again didn't just hear that from Hart. Good luck to you folks and that nephew!

Congratulations from your friend down in Charger Country!! Always good to hear anyone from our Region that gets an opportunity to play after high school. UTC, I hope with this new staff, is on the comeback. I am an ex Moc and have a niece going there to play basketball next year!! Keep working to get better!!

Add one more to the Central Chargers!! Matt Aderhold signed with Roane State! Counting one player that signed with Tenn Wesleyan - Basketball and one with Carson Newman - Football, ALL NINE SENIORS have singed to play somewhere in College next year! 7 Baseball, 1 basketball and 1 football off this baseball team that also has a team GPA of 3.6!! Neither team threw their best more like a bad scimmage than game. Central still should win with 7-8 senior's and Polk has no catcher or true pitcher just kids trying to do their best at positions most have never played and it shows. Polk is very young..... 7 of the 9 starters are either freshman or sophmores.

Good post and I agree that there was a big difference in the experience that was on the field last night.
