  1. I look forward to visiting the "Glass House" again...been 19 looooooooooooong years since the Dogs were there...I say just let the Teams' PLAY do the talking for them...The hard part is getting to the big dance...once you do anything can happen...

  2. Let me make myself crystal clear here. I mean the eastern part of middle tn (middle/east) as in where most of the gold balls reside, and to be more specific the upper cumberland area. District 7A has won the last 3 Gold balls and has more gold balls than any other district in the state outside of maybe Shelbyville when they were good back in the 90's and early 00's. The Upper Cumberland has always had the best girls basketball in it for years and years and this year is no different. LC got by far the easiest draw with Green County so i look for them to win that one, hopefully JC can beat a very good Loretto team and then we can decide this on the floor. Ya'll keep talkin LC up, i can't wait to see them cause they must be WNBA good if they are half as good as what ya'll are saying!

Disagree with you on the "easiest" draw part...NG is a good team...you will see that...

  3. The TSSAA Girls State tourney begins this Wednesday morning in Class 1A as the Lake County Lady Falcons from upper Northwest Tennessee take on the North Greene Huskies from Northeast Tennessee in opening round action. Being from West Tennessee I know quite a bit about the Lady Falcons having seen them several times this season

as they are led by Miss Basketball Finalist T.T.Flowers and another Junior in Carnation Hart. They pressure the ball extremely well, like to play an up tempo style, rebound well and have some good outside shooters. I know very little about the Huskies of North Greene and was hoping someone on here could shed a little light about the Huskies, main players, who to watch for, etc. as they prepare for this opening round game.

thanks for the info and looking forward to seeing everybody in the BORO!

Don't expect this game to be a cakewalk for Lake Co. because North Greene can play, handle pressure and is very well coached. Wouldn't surprise me to see North Greene adavance...

  4. Congrats to EHS Lady Cyclones for winning the JC Honda/McDonald's Invitational over a quality St. Joseph, WV team last night. The Lady Cyclones didn't play their best, but played well enough to win. Go Lady Cyclones!

Also, congrats to the Hampton Lady Bulldogs for winning 3rd place over Cherokee. I thought you played well against a much bigger team while only having limited services from Weddle.

Thank You etownsparky...I am proud of our effort last night...4th game in 4 days...had some girls that were worn out playing their hearts out...we still have quite a few things to improve on and areas to clean up but I can see some light at the end of the tunnel. I greatly enjoy watching the Lady Cyclones play...unless I am on the opposing bench...they play the game with such a passion...the way it should be played...I also thought your daughter played a GREAT game last night...all in all a good night for Carter Co. basketball...

  5. Spoken well from one that ALL players would give their eye teeth to be anywhere near the player HE was

HaHa...they are much better players than I ever was...but I do have PRIDE in that uniform...and I certainly mean NO disrespect towards SH...I admire their program and coaches...Good Luck to BOTH

  6. You got your respect. I said after yesterday's game that you guys have a good team. I also said you could play with the big boys and played tough. I'll leave it at that.

I find all this conjecture quite comical...for SH people to be complaining about officiating against Hampton is very demeaning...to them...SH plays a very aggressive style, while Hampton sat back in a zone...I wonder who had the opportunity to foul more...it was all right back in the day when "The Hill" would be the beneficiary of the officials non-calls...yet when they are not...they complain...can't have it both ways...I respect SH and pull for them...but give me a break with this nonsense...they lost today and the final 4 points of the game came at the foul line for TH...seems that SH may have a problem with fouling...I wish BOTH teams the best of luck the rest of the season...would LOVE to see them get to the Glass House and compete...

  7. I agree we are gonna have to play every down the whole game and to get tougher. But I also want to say that there are alot more tougher kids out there than 2. Just because you do things right more times than not doesnt mean you are not doing some things wrong. Leadership is a quality that can be admirable, but to be a leader you must set examples, not just run your mouth when things go wrong. Leadership on the field and OFF the field is something that makes a true leader. I also believe that we win as a team and lose as a team. No one person will win or lose by themselves, just like last night the secondary was atrocious, but we could also help by getting some pressure on the qb so he didnt have all night to throw it. Just because you have someone to step up dont mean that you dont have 10 more trying. You cant coach heart and you cant coach toughness, but you can coach consistency and play every down. Whether you get that on Friday or dont, doesnt mean you didnt coach it either. This team is good, and could be great, but until we play as a team, not individuals we wont be successful, and remember when youre reconizing that great play or player, remember that somebody that will never get any credit for it, that probably was busting their butt to open that hole, or hold that block needs to get some credit too.

Well said Paradox...brings to mind an old Coach VanHuss philosophy..."denying yourself for the TEAM"...
