Im lost. Is SCRAPMAN JJ's dad?

Everyonr else seems to know so you my as well because I could not be prouder of him. Forget about what he does on the court. It is what he does off the court that I am so proud of. I could not ask for a better son. God bless my father, I wish I could of showed him what my son Ross Albright is showing me!

Maybe it was a little over the top but let's be honest. Ever since we won our district after only being a school for 3 or 4 years we have been hated. Hated by everyone in the district, from the players to the coaches to the ref's and to the fans, and it shows. The year we did win it, we had a couple of kids on the team that were very cocky, way too cocky and I did not approve of it at all, but it was allowed. I knew it would come back to haunt us. It totally shows now, we have ten fouls before the opponent has two. And it's not because we fouled ten times either. So, how long do we have to pay the price? We get absolutely no respect from anyone on this site. We have a kid on our team that is easily a top five player in the district if not the region ( and yes we all know who he is and how he is related to me) He could be JJ and still get crap from you guys. His stats speak for themselves. His point average was like 11th in middle TN last year and he is doing the same this year. Don't believe me? read the article and see what thier coach says... And if they beat a team of stature it was just a fluke or they had a bad night. He is constantly double and triple teamed. Tuesdays game against Merrol Hyde he put up 30 with 6 3-'s. But not one word from you guys. He is averaging 20.6 ppg and 2.75 3's pg. Take out the 6 point game he had against USN because of an knee on knee injury that took him out he would be averaging 23.5 ppg. The point being is, WHH or # 23 get's no prop's because of thier past players. Most of the kids on this tream don't even know who those guys were. Plus, he is the only returning starter. Currently they are 6-2 and 3-0. Far better than I thought they even would be at up to this point. Of course the real test are to come, East and CA. They beat Houston County already but according to you guys the game didn't even need to be played. The best news is that they are playing as a team, they always have at least 3-4 players that score 6 pts or more. Okay, with all that being said, I promise to stop being a dick if you guys promise to forget the past and start giving them the respect they are due. After all, If a father can't stick up for his son (especially if it is true) then who can? Good luck DragonMasters! They played a pre-season game against Station Camp and he held JJ to like 20 points. That is about as good as you can do against him. He did get dunked on 3 times though. The kid has lot's of D also. You won't catch any extra crap from me, either here or in person. I try to take enough time between the game and the time that I sit at my computer so that I have settled the emotional side of a game. I didnt have a kid involved and I still get deeply into this stupid game.

 

If we meet later in the year, or if we are even in the same gym come tourney time, I would love to speak with you in person. It would be great to talk one on one. It is also much better to do that than to put some of my views here in writing. Sometimes, when I post an opinion, it reads with a different attitude than I intend it to be. It would be a good conversation, I think you would understand that I am neither mean, nor spiteful.

 

Tell your kid to keep a smile on his face, and in the words of a former MSU football coach "work hard and keep your mouth shut, and good things will happen"

 

And above all else, keep his head out of the stands. The worst thing a player can do is to react to what is being said in the stands. If you google "earvin johnson msu" and look at the images tab, 9 out of every 10 picture of Earvin shows him with a grin from ear to ear. Even when he is in the heat of battle. There is no one on the planet that is a more fierce competitor than Earvin was, no one. And there is no one that got more joy out of playing the game than Earvin. Most kids playing today could use this advice, so Im not exactly singling anyone out here.

My kid put up 30 points with 6 three's last night. My only question to him was " Did you have fun, did you enjoy yourself"? He said, "Yeah, I had a great time". I know he gave 100% on both ends so I didn't have to ask that, he always does. I only ask for two things from him, 1. give it 100%, anything worth doing is worth doing right. 2. If you are not having fun, quit! So far, he has excelled in both so I can't ask for more and I couldn't be prouder. I am not one of those dillusional parents that have dreams of D-1 or the NBA. Now a scholarship to a small christian college or a NAIA or even state. It all helps my wallet and would be a great learning experience for him. Which after all, this is all for them, the kids. I am usually the one that can't keep his mouth shut? 46 and still learning.

Wow, pretty impressive, beating the mighty boys and girls of East Robertson, right after losing just a week earlier to the lowly ranked boys and girls who are not even suppose finish in the top 6. Yeah, that's right, I'm back and I ain't shuttin up this time. So, bring it on Ballers 1-1,000,000,000. How original! I have kept my mouth shut so Coach would not be yelling but I really don't care anymore. You know who I am and who my kid is, so bring it on loud mouths. My kids stats speak for themselves. Can't help we won the district after only a couple of years and we had some loud mouths on the team. Well, it is not that team anymore. They are polite, respectful and only give back when given to. Unlike me, I will give it anytime. Big difference is? I can back it up with intelligence, I have no tolerance for you uneducated, dweebs that call yourselfs Ballers 1 thru 3 million, bet you guys all use to be dragon master too. Ha Ha!!! C'MON!!!

Quite the soap opera you guys got going there. I know the feeling. A lot of people know of me on this site so I will probably be starting more trouble but... We are a rather new school that won our distric after our first 3 or 4 years, add that to a couple of very cocky players and a coach that no one likes to much, especially the ref's and we have been labled bad guys for the rest of our lifes. We have kids on the team now that don't even know who that team was and can not figure out why we have 10 fouls and are opponents 0. We also have a very good player (my son) (we will definetly hear about this) who averaged 23 and 3 last year and is doing the same this year and he gets absolutely no respect. Now, they will say I am just a whihning father but any kid that can put up 21 point in 8 minutes in the fourth with no support has something special. We beat a team that everyone thought wopuld be a top contender in the district and nobody said a word. Got real quiet. So let them say what they will. Funny though, nobody has much to say at the games though, very quiet there? And like I said, they all know who I am. I believe it is called "internet balls" ? Sorry to use your post to vent. I am sure this will get back to the coach who will then yell at me for egging them on. Only live once and my time may be limited so I really dont give a HOOT! Again, sorry, just got caught up in the moment.

They are 0-2 in the district, but i know they beat MC and Stewart County, so they aren't 0-5. Spurgeon is out for the rest of the year with a torn acl is what I heard. Theres no hoopla, just that they were the only team in 10a that might of gave CA a run for their money. CA will demolish the other 10a teams.

Yeah, just going by what CoatchT reports. I noticed they have other ones wrong also. Who can you e-mail to correct? Tough break for Spurgeon, is he a senior?

I went down to Houston Co tonight and watched HC and CA play. First thing I noticed was the Spurgeon boy wasnt dressed out, whats up with that?

But this is what I did see. The twins are great ballplayers, but if someone is in their face, they cant seem to make the shot fall. I would say the rebounding was about even. The score doesnt reflect the game, CA had a scoring run in the beginning of the third quarter, with one of their boys hitting a couple of 3s that put them over the top. I would say that HC probably has the quickest point guard in the district, and for being an average size guy, he can jump! Dillard played hard, but he just couldnt put up the big points tonight. As for the Skeleton boy, he desperately needs more floor time, alot of promise there though. Tyler Featherstone played well, but doesnt seem to shoot much, why???? Another promising player was the younger Featherstone boy, should mature well. Monroe played in the second and third quarter, handled the twins well, and scored over them. Still dont understand why this boy doesnt get more varsity time.

CA has put themselves a nice team together, but they are not unbeatable. JMO

DON'T UNDERSTAND THE HOOPLA ON HC? ARE THEY NOT 0-2 AND 0-5?

GIVEN, JUST SEEMS NO ONE WANTS TO GIVE WHH ANY PROPS? 2-0 DIV 4-1 OVERALL. WITH THIER TOP SHOOTER AVG. 23.2 AND 2.8 AND HAS REALLY STEPPED IT UP ON DEFENSE. ALSO HELPED TO HOLD JJ TO LIKE 20 PTS. IN PRE-SEASON GAME. AND THAT'S ABOUT AS GOOD AS YOU CAN DO WITH HIM.

Thanks Coach. As far as my son, I am very pleased with his accomplishments. He ended up around 14th in mid TN w/ 20.4 PPG and 2.7 3's. He gave 100% in almost every game and that is all I can ask for. I have told him I don't care what the score board say's as long as when the game is over he could walk off the court holding his head high knowing he gave it his all. I just hope they don't overlook him when they do the all district team. I believe his stat's are the highest in 10-A but I am pretty sure he won't get district MVP because of the lack of exposure and everyone loves the 3's (caden).

I am pretty sure I was the only one that said that and that was after they opened with a 7-0 start. Glad your enoying a cheap holiday on other peoples misery though.

Talented Jr. will be 18 in April looking to play on AAU team. Any coaches out there looking for a player. Does anyone know where I can go to find any teams, websites? Good kid, very respectful, eager to take the next step, lots of potential with great stats. Would make a great addition to any team. Try out and/or interview not a problem. Has transportation and willing to travel. Appriciate any help anyone can give.
