Guys to be honest, I think 5A is deeper and more talented across the board in the new plan than 6A. That may be a factor. When you look at teams like Henry co, hendersonville, west, hillsboro, plus the array of solid teams year in and year out I think 5A is deeper and better across the board. Outside of oakland, blackman, and whitehaven 6A just doesn't have much parity in it. 

The wishful thinking has run rampant in this thread. No disrespect, but Springfield has played a soft schedule and it will show tonight. HC 56-20

I heard Lebanon was bringing a coach from Henry county on the staff this year, if so I would certainly think this is a huge get for coach harp and this program. They seem to be on the rise.

One other thing to note, is that this is the 3rd rematch for HC in the playoffs. Let's take a look at the outcomes. Kenwood the first game 59-20, second game 52-8. Ridgeway first game 32-22, second game 42-21. Noticeable increase in margin of victory both times. This tells me something.

Wow, I guess due to "other" circumstances the 1st game was close, so if you do the math NE will be lucky to keep it within 2 scores. True or not, you see how it looks, right? This should be a good game, NE always plays better in the play-offs then they do in the reg.season for some reason. I am not saying they will win but I doubt they will be an easy out.....

 

2nd, please drop the whole thing about the cramps from the 1st game, everyone has their opinions, just leave it at that.....

I see what you did there Kevin, and I can appreciate. The circumstances I was referring too were the injuries. From my understanding HC was missing 3 starters. One of them being the starting running back who just happen to ran for 270 yards and 6 tds last week against ridgeway. I would say that changes things a little bit. Another one of the starters was the mlb who is responsible for getting the defense aligned correctly and also a heck of a player. Would you agree kev? Also I just feel HC is on a roll that's gonna be hard to stop. Unless northeast can score 40, I don't think it stays within 14

Henry County knows they can't play other good teams away anymore

As for you, your prolly a kid or adult who is drunk so this will be my only post to you. Your prolly just trying to get a rise out of people and I guess that's fine. BUT, just in case you actually believe what your saying I will remind you that since 1996 I believe you have only beat HC once and that was last year with prolly your second best player in program history. The close meeting was first, but had circumstances surrounding that won't be in play this time from what I hear from my HC friends. With that said they prolly roll over y'all by a pretty good margin. I think they accept it. But since you brought it up, it's not fair and makes no sense for the ONLY undefeated team in 5A and overall number 1 seed in the playoffs to have to travel to a team who is a 7 seed, a team they already beat, oh and a team that finished 4th in the very same district that HC won lol not a lot of common sense in that ideology. But I do think HC football team prolly doesn't care and will come up there Friday night and give y'all the spanking you deserve.

A couple of things amaze me when reading this thread.

 

First, ridgeway finished 5-5 and HC 10-0. East beat ridgeway by the same score pretty much that HC did and was hailed by a few posters as the best team in Memphis. HC beats them but is somehow still the underdog to a team who found a way to lose 5 ball games this year??? Puzzling.

 

Second, you guys seem to omit the fact that every year ridgeway is in this position with more talent than the teams they play in the playoffs but always lose. Hendersonville,HC, north side, and the list goes on. Wonder why things all of sudden seem different this year??? Puzzling.

 

Lastly, HC record against Memphis teams in the playoffs over the lady 10 years is absolutely impeccable. Undefeated at home over the years with only 2 losses on the road at melrose in 05 and Hamilton last year.

 

Ridgeway I'm sure has improved, but prolly so has HC. The fact that y'all just dismiss HC like you do is just downright disrespectful, especially after they already beat ridgeway this year, but hey what do I know. Good luck

What radio station is it on in Nashville?

A lot of games are going to be shifting seeds and quads Friday night.

Lawrence county was just in quad 4 last year while northeast was in quad 3, so it's very possible. Also as it stands right now if south wind beats collierville then ridgeway will finish 3rd in the district which makes them a wildcard. I personally think if Lawrence county beats shelbyville that there is a pretty decent chance Henry County is moved to quad 3 with both Lawrence and northeast going quad 4.

Does Northeast get shipped to Q4 if both Kenwood and Memphis Overton lose this week? That would be good for the teams in Q3. If they are moved to Q4 at 6-4 they'd have a rematch with Henry Co. in the opening round.

I don't believe that's possible. I'm pretty sure tssaa has a rule that district teams cannot play one another in the first round unless that district gets in 5 teams, which district 10 will not. I could be wrong, but don't think I am.

So whats going on with the pepsi challenge this year? who's in it and what are the matchups?

I'll probably be bashed but to add to what vol74 is saying. Dickson county absolutely dominated columbia to the tune of 28-0. Henry County absolutely dominated dickson county and was worse than the score showed at 21-7. Beech came into HC and won 55-41 behind one of the most prolific performances by a player (Jalen hurd 37 carries 456 yards) I've ever seen. Beech wins this one big fellas. Sorry columbia fans, not trying to say yall don't deserve to be here just saying lets be realistic.

Having watched the Trenton / Milan game online I will say Huntingdon wins 35-21. Sorry Trenton fans but Milan did look uncaristically sloppy with the ball.

With that having been said we need to be a little sharper than we were last Friday as well. 4 quarters boys, one game at a time!!

I actually see Arlington pulling off the upset. They return a lot of talent but are being underestimated. Plus being at home and Oakland having a long bus ride I just have a feeling about this one.

It's time for some predictions. I say HC 38-21. I think HC runs for 300+ yards. I also see liberty moving the ball as well on the young patriot defense but see them making some turnovers that kill drives. Just one neutral man's guess. What are some other predictions?

Sounds good. I plan on making the trip to Paris to watch Yall play beech. I expect the stadium to be packed and one heck of an atmosphere for that game. My blood is boiling just thinking about it lol will be very exciting

From my understanding HC is traveling to obion county Friday for a scrimmage. So, how is HC looking so far? Does the team seem to be coming together?

After hearing about this topic, researching facts about it and watching the video a few things come to mind. 1. I'm a football coach myself and one thing we always tell our players is don't put yourself in a position to have a ref call something on yourself, whether you meant it or not. So why would #44 not realize the magnitude of the situation and keep his mouth closed regardless of what he said and head straight to the bench. This is as much his coach's fault as the player's. Secondly, This I'm sure was a tremendous game to see in person, but either team could have done more to win it earlier and prevent something like this in the end of the game. Lastly, It is a tough call indeed but sometimes these are needed to help teach your kids mental toughness and hopefully this is something that this team can benefit from next year. One last thing, please refrain from making underhanded comments in anyway against the kids from blackman, because they worked just as hard as anyone else to be in this position and don't deserve to have their achievements diminished in any way. I'm not a fan of either team, never been to either school. I'm from west tn. Anyways, Heck of a year for both teams and both sides should hold their heads up high.

I heard HC added dresden v.s. trenton to their jamobree this year, any truth? if so, and if they keep the teams from last year this will be THE PREMIERE jamboree in west tn.

Well if it was approved by the T$$AA I don't think it will be next year and the person has no one else to blame. I actually like the horn when you score but that's really about its only place. If you make a big play then that's what the band is for and I think it would be okay to mix the horn in on big plays too.

 

I actually tuned into this game and shut it off after only 10 minutes because of the horn. For me it took away from the game and had to be irritating to the announcers. The person blowing the horn has to exercise self control and they were clearly having a hard time for the 10 minutes I watched. My guess is when the T$$AA gets together to review the tournament this will be a topic of discussion. Sorry FCS I think you cooked your own goose on this one, and probably the goose of any other team using something like this.

 

 

And the guy comparing blowing a train horn after every play to a band playing must be a moron as there is no comparison. Heck people pay to go watch the bands. Do you know anyone that goes down the the train tracks and pays the engineer to blow his horn? :roflolk:

There's no need in name calling. To be honest I would rather the other team have a fan with a train horn than that school of "morons" playing an illegal player to cheat themselves to a win. Point blank
