  1. If the right system is put in place, the program can prosper. Girls will stay with basketball, and there is promising talent rising in the middle school . Tullahoma will not win the district next year by any means, but contender status is not out of reach in a few years under the right staff. Go Lady Cats!
  2. Should be a good game. Shelbyville by 7. And thanks for the Tullahoma compliment above.
  3. Ditto. If you want to see a 'pro' style game, go see a pro game. Otherwise, let the kids decide the game outcome without forcing the action. The reason the higher levels did it is for revenue, and since high school attendance generally is supported by a loyal fan base, it isn't needed.
  4. Perhaps regret or repentance would sit easier on Bball fans all around. Getting ejected was reasonable for what happened (saw it from just a few feet away) Instead of whining now , the game can continue with shelbyville in full force. Good luck eagles vs stars.
  5. Believe it or not , same off crew ejected players in back to back games. A Tullahoma player on Friday night and Twilley on Saturday. Tullahoma player committed ahard foul on a layup, justifiably an intentional foul but was ejected and now must sit out first two games of his sr year.
  6. Agree. Mark and brother Matt were part of a very good team I played against in high school. Always top notch guys.
  7. Appreciate the opportunity to discuss relevant issues on sports in TN on this site , and if anyone was offended by discussions on 8-AAA it was certainly not the intention from my standpoint. The latest thread was only meant to review the overall selection process of all-district. At this point moving on with the games is the thing to do, with the off-season to sort the rest out. Again, thanks coacht.
  8. Not quite sure who you are referring to, but hopefully you're not implicating Tullahoma's coach. Any comments on the rest of the voting?
  9. Gets messy doesn't it? Still amazing that all this talk about the co-MVP, but does anyone not think that others should have been considered for all-district; two sophomores made it , one from the last place team and one (of 3) from the 4th place team. Seniors (and juniors) from higher ranked teams were left off, as well as Tullahoma left completely out.
  10. Barry Stewart was and is still a great player, and his performance at the state tournament is one that I still admire. Again one MVP. Coach Thomas was wrong, though , for any comments while on the floor during the award ceremony. At that time it was the players' time.
  11. The balloting should allow for one MVP, and every team with a deserving player should be ensured of that, not simply relying on ballot manipulation to benefit their programs. The two seniors from Law Co were deserving, and while the soph Garland is certainly a good player who will be a very good player in the future, it's hard to see seniors and even juniors left off without feeling that the system is faulty.
  12. Not to defend the FC coach, but it was the Shelbyville coach who motioned for the FC coach to come out of the stands last night and seemed to start something right there on the floor. Therefore both coaches are at fault for causing a scene at that time. It was a time for the players, not the coaches, as the coaches knew the outcome before hand and should have settled their differences somewhere else.
  13. That being said I do believe Andrews is the most talented player in the district. All one had to do is watch him take over their game with Law Co Saturday at the end. Still co-MVP is not the end of the world, but not MVP would have been worse and a poor reflection on the district. Still puzzled though over the 3 LC players and only 2 from shelbyville and none from Tullahoma.
  14. Agree wholeheartedly with Columbia comment. They do play alot of talented kids, and seem interchangeable in several positions. I will say that in meeting Marsalis Whitaker (Columbia #5 PG), he is a fine young man on and off the court and seems to play the game with the spirit kids should have. Easy selection for all-district.
