  1. Looks like a mess to me. Hampton has already taken The Rangers to the wood shed once and they got it handed to them by the Landers last week. That program has faded to nothing.
  2. Coach McClain was removed from his position because he was in legal trouble and was doing things he shouldn??™t have been doing. His firing had absolutely nothing to do with wins or losses on the basketball court. Personally I like Coach McClain I think he??™s a good guy who just made some mistakes. But, what exactly was coach Chambers fired for? He broke a rule but was not removed by the TSSAA. Hmmmm that sounds to me like an excuse to remove a coach who wasn??™t in the creeker click but was very successful at the same time. I guess he didn??™t play the right parents girls or yelled at them to much or maybe he just won too much. But your right, 4 wins 13 defeats s is much better for the program than contending for state tournament births every year hahahahahahahahahahahaha silly creeker /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  3. It??™s so funny that a guy from Unaka is on here talking about Hampton??™s program being a mess. Unaka fans are on here bragging about getting beat by less than 20 and Hampton is actually winning games. You need to take a look at your own program and try to actually compete in the conference and stop running off your coaches that are actually successful. Talk about a mess I would say that Kenneth Chamber fiasco ranks pretty high on that list and we all know how well that decision is paying off for the lady Rangers. (4 ??“ 13) is pretty good hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  4. For you to criticize a guy who was an all state performer at Hampton High School and earned a scholarship for golf for the first time in school history is completely ridiculous. Even if you don??™t agree with his posts it??™s still dumb to make a statement like that. There has been a lot of players from Hampton and other local schools earn scholarships and decide to come home there is no shame in that. College level athletics is not for some people and that??™s not because they couldn??™t cut it at their college. I have heard many college athletes say that it??™s not worth it. Apparently you don??™t know how hard it is to be a college student (not to mention being an athlete) if you did I don??™t think you would have made that remark. And I??™m sure bigdawg3 would be more than happy to mop the golf course with you any day of the week.
  5. What mess are you talking about? The dawgs are winning. Sure, there are some things we need to do better but we are young and getting better every game. Some people prefer different styles of play and want changes made at every school in every sport to me it??™s a very common thing. I think people just see the great potential and talent this team has and they want to make sure that it is used in the right way and it will be. This group is going to have a very successful run and its going to be a lot of fun to watch if you??™re wearing Hampton colors. GO BULLDOGS!!!!!!!!
  6. Hampton??™s post players are going to be fine. It??™s just taking them a little longer to develop because they are playing in the post which is difficult to do at a young age. It is much easier for a young guard to come in and have an impact right away. A lot of it is due to the post players having to be physical and using their strength against an older and usually stronger defender and a guard really doesn??™t really have to worry about being physical with a stronger older player as much as the post does. And your right, you can??™t argue with our success. Our team is playing pretty well right now and is looking good going into the conference part of our schedule. The statement ???Hampton??™s guards are scoring 85 % of their points??? is crazy. It??™s simply not true and doesn??™t mathematically add up but you??™re a creeker so I??™m not going to be surprised if you don??™t understand what that means. Carpenter to Hampton? I think that is just a bunch of creeker chatter. I don??™t see that job being promised to anyone when Coach White is at the helm and plans to stay for the next few years. GO BULLDOGS!!!!!!
  7. Why would he not want to play? Hill is on a very good team that is going to be awesome the next few years and he is going to be a key player on this team. I don??™t see how you could call yourself a Hampton fan if you get on here and try to encourage a player to quit on the team because they are not getting the basketball every trip down the floor. People making dumb statements like that is what makes kids disrespect the coaches. They hear fans complaining contently even when the team is successful and I think if you asked Hill if he wanted the ball more I would bet anything that he would tell you he could care less as long as the team wins. As for the guards, they are playing awesome right now and they give 100 % every night out and it??™s crazy to down grade any player when they are playing hard and playing well. I just don??™t understand what you could possibly say bad about the two guards the last two games unless you??™re just jealous. They put the team into a position to win mostly every night. Take those two guards off the team and tell me how many wins the dawgs have this year. GO BULLDOGS!!!!!!
  8. I agree 100 %. It really makes no sense that we go out and dominate a team and our own fans are still on here bad mouthing our team. Sure, they didn??™t do every single thing right but no team ever does. Relax people we got the W. GO BULLDOGS!!!!!!!
  9. From what I understand he never asked to come out of the game. They asked why he wasn??™t playing well and he told them the injury was bothering him and he was taking out as a result of that. That could be false that??™s just what I have been told. Besides that, the game was well in hand at that point and there is no need to risk getting a key player injured in a non conference game that you are dominating. In my opinion, if a player is bothered by an injury in a game that doesn??™t mean much you take him out and I think we made a smart decision by doing that. Sure, the injury is probably minor but there??™s still no need to risk doing more damage because we will need him down the stretch. Again, the injury is no excuse for the sluggish play and he will have to get more aggressive and physical and he will he has improved a great deal in that department already this year. People need to be a little more patient with our young post players. GO BULLDOGS!!!!!!!!!
  10. True, the post players didn??™t play very well against Providence but I think tylerdurden was talking about the complete team performance and it was really good as a whole. And I know one of the post players was a little bothered by a prior injury. I??™m not saying that an excuse for a sluggish performance but it??™s a fact. Our post players are coming along fine and just had an off night. We also got some production from one of our big men against Providence that hasn??™t really played well so far this year and that was really good to see. GO BULLDOGS!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Hampton goes to North Green Thursday. We had a really tough time there last year but I think a lot of that was due to the Bulldogs overlooking the Huskies and being a little too confident. When we played those guys last season at their place we were ranked 4th in the state and thought we couldn??™t be beat and we barely got out of that place with a win. I think this year??™s team is hungry for some wins and will come out on top against the Huskies, but I agree that is a trap game for the boys and should be a great game between the girls. GO BULLDOGS!!!!!!!!
  12. Unaka is improving, Elizabethton is going to be tough but at home, Cloudland is always a tough game because it??™s such a big rivalry, and the Happy Valley game is in that same category with the Cloudland game. All of those games are going to be tough, especially road trips to Roan Mountain and Stoney Creek, but I think Hampton is going to finish up strong. The upcoming schedule is pretty tough but I don??™t think any of those teams are the caliber of Johnson County, or Unicoi County so it does get a little easier as far as playing more talented teams. The Cloudland and Unaka game are going to be close and I think a lot of our success will have to do with how our young players handle the crowd and the pressure of playing those two rivals in big games but I think they will be fine and should win the conference. And I completely agree with Vader. We have to win the region if we are making a state tournament appearance; a trip to Grace would be a very tough task for the Bulldogs.
  13. That is true this sophomore class is going to be a great group. I think they will lead vocally and with their effort on the floor.
  14. Coach Jerry White is a TSSAA hall of famer and has accomplished more than most coaches in this area have. Mike Matheson was an all state player when he was in high school. This coaching staff knows what they are doing. They only coach these players hard because they know what they could be if they play hard and play smart. Any player who would quit on their team is not trying their best anyway. These coaches just want these players to realize that it??™s something special to put on that Hampton jersey and represent this community. Historically Hampton has been a basketball school that has seen more success than most schools in this area and a great deal of that success is due to Coach White. Our coaches love these kids and want to see them succeed on and off the basketball floor and if you think any different your crazy.
  15. I too think this game will be a lot closer than the last time these two teams met. One big reason I think that is if I remember correctly the last game was the night after the dawgs lost a hard fought game at Elizabethton and that could have had something to do with Hampton??™s sluggish play but that??™s taking nothing away from Johnson County they are a really good team. We played pretty well the other night against Unicoi hopefully those efforts will carry over to this game. GO BULLDOGS!!!!!!!!
  16. I agree with what you said about fans and coaches needing to be patient with this team. However, I think our seniors have to step up in terms of leadership. When the game is on the line it would help these young players so much for a senior just to step into the huddle and just say something like ???hey guys calm down lets be smart and get this win???. I think that would calm a young player down and make them feel like they were together as a team and that they had a leader.
  17. It does seem like this team has no senior leadership. It appears as if Hughes is the floor general for this team. The seniors need to step up and start making some plays or they will regret it later on in life when they are done with basketball. I thought Robertson played pretty well tonight and that??™s a big step in the right direction for our seniors but it has to get better if we are going to contend for a state tournament berth.
  18. Unicoi took a really hard fought game tonight. Hampton really shot themselves in the foot by missing foul shots. I heard we went 12 for 24 from the foul line and three of those shots were the front ends of one and ones. There??™s no way we can miss that many foul shots and beat a good team like Unicoi who might be the best team on our schedule. Of course, Camron Miller player well but I was really impressed with Lyle. He has a chance to be a really special player.
  19. I really can??™t remember the last time Hampton won at Unicoi but we usually play Erwin pretty tough at Hampton. Unicoi has one of the best players in East Tennessee with Camron Miller so it should be interesting to see what happens. I don??™t think Hampton is going get blown out like they did last time. I think it will be a really close game.
  20. I??™m anxious to see what Harriman brings to the Climate Controllers tourney this weekend. From reading on here they seem to have a young but talented team. Hampton is in the same boat with our outstanding sophomore class. Should be a pretty interesting.
  21. I did hear that Unaka gave Unicoi a tough game but I didn't get any details. I think there is talent up there but for some reason it??™s not producing like it should. Good point about Elizabethton playing county schools. I think the biggest reason why people in the county hate Elizabethton so bad is because they won??™t play county schools in every sport. That makes it look like the cyclones are snubbing their nose at county schools. The last few years Hampton has been dreaming of a matchup with the cyclones on the grid iron, but for some reason it never happens. Elizabethton did come up to Hampton and participate in a passing league and we had a pretty good crowd there, especially for a passing league game. I also kept hearing that the Rangers were begging the Cyclones for a matchup on the hard wood when Donald Ensor was running the show in Stoney Creek but that never happened either. Games with county schools would generate huge crowds and great excitement so I don??™t see what??™s stopping it from happening. If I am a head coach at Elizabethton I would much rather take my team to a big rivalry game in carter county that??™s going to be closely contested than go all the way to Washington or Sullivan County just to get blown out.
  22. Well since Coach Lunsford has been the offensive coordinator we have been the most successful program in the county and that??™s a fact. Mike Lunsford is one of the most sought after coaches around here. Cloudland treated him horribly and if not for that he probably would still be running a very successful program in Roan Mountain. Look at his r?©sum?© and his total body of work and he is one of the most successful coaches this area has ever seen. A lot of people don??™t like him (especially in Roan Mountain) but the man is a great coach and there??™s no denying that. As for Elizabethton beating Hampton the last few years HAHAHAHAHAHAH /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> HAHAHAHAHA GOOD JOKE MAN!!!
  23. I think the creekers should worry about Unaka Basketball because Hampton has already man handled them once this year and there is many more beatings to come for the rangers this year. That program has faded out of contention.
  24. Poteat would be Elizabethton??™s best player by far if he was there. There??™s no contest. I will give Johnson County credit they played well last night and really took it to us. I feel like we were soundly defeated on Tuesday by a better team and I would rather get beat like that rather than give the game way like we did Monday at Elizabethton.
