I know spring practice is done anything else going on in Warrior land? This is too quiet! Can't wait til Fall! GO WARRIORS KEEP WORKING HARD!
Well I know this has nothing to do with football, but I just want to say congrates to the Riverdale girls softball team. They were so close a couple of times, and now they have done it! The Riverdale spirit is still there, they will not give up no matter what. When you play the Warriors, a game is on. It is possible to beat them ,but that spirit will be at your next game with them, and cant be beat. Way to go girls, and way to represent Rutherford county.

I have to comment on this one!! First, I think that Coach Wells is a fine man and really should not have been fired at Blackman (considering all that he had to tolerate last season, but that is history)
1.) best coaches ever at SMYRNA - not really, best coach at Smyrna has been Robbins; Blackman folks better hope that he is along for ride with your new head man. If not, ya'll might be disappointed! Wells tenure at Smyrna ranged from some very poor teams to some OK teams.
2.) great hire for RIVERDALE - this is the mystery /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" /> his pedigree does not bear this out?? Whearas your current HC has not had a losing season in well over a decade, but he is set to a different standard.
You Riverdale folks are amazing...........Wells is a fine fellow, but your expectations are not matched to the facts IMHO.
I believe the comment was, one of the best coaches ever at SMYRNA. That is IMO. Will agree with you on ROBBINS, at the highschool level, but the BEST coach that I ever saw at SMYRNA is COACH DONNIE CARTER, and that includes ROBBINS.

One of the best coaches ever at SMYRNA, he is also a fine man. A great hire for RIVERDALE. Gurantee the defensive side of the team will be working hard. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

I stopped by there about a mth ago...mainly to see Coach Thompson and Coach Hunt.
Spring practice is in the second week. The returning BULLDOGS are looking good. Should be a great year for Cumberland.
-
I have played for both coach Aydelott and coach Blade & enjoyed playing for both.
I think Coach A is a better disciplinarian and overall a better coach. He would be a good fit
for Ravenwood.
You can have him.

"This happens on the eve of a season where Rector's Raptors were going to be the odds-on favorite in middle Tennessee."
You can't be serious!
If anything, I have heard that he has picked a great time to leave Ravenwood due to the fact that the cupboard is somewhat bare compared to previous years there.
Smells fishey, sort of like a big SHAD, Smyrna SHAD that is.

you should be. Hopefully, they will have a very good recruiting class. Good luck in 09.
Thanks again Wingman, '09 has started with workouts & running. CU lost very little on offence and already has some great transfers during the spring semester for the defenseive side of the ball.Lost their quarterback to graduation, but their backup, Curt Bureau, is very capable and has had lots of playing time. This team were good in '08, should be a good year, can't wait! Go BULLDOGS

Hope your son has a good offseason, stays healthy and does well in the class room.
Thanks WINGMAN, he had a great season this year and last year on the field and in the classroom. I'll try not to brag too much here, but this dogdaddy is proud. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Cumberland wins in a shoot out. Belhaven 43 CU 46. Cumberland is 4&4 overall, but is 3&0 in Midsouth Conference Western Division. 3 games to go all at home, good chance for a post season game, time to bring it, good luck!
Cumberland ends the season 6-5. A big improvement from seasons before, and lots of soph. and fresh. players returning. A young team no doubt, but people now know they can play. Future is bright at CU, a share of the conference title this year,a winning season, and finally throwing the rock more, this team has turned the corner, Enjoyed watching this team, and really look forward to the years ahead for these CU football players.Congrates BULLDOGS work hard, and hit those books. I predict now, that the buzz in Lebanon will be a full blarring roar before this team is done!

Shorter deals CU a 27-24 lost with 9 sec. left and a 45 yd field goal. Winning Mid SouthConference West Division gone for another year, but we still can share the championship with a win over Lambuth.

Yes, I agree that Sonny is a compititor. What Coach Robbins taught him was how to read defenses and thusly cut his interceptions by over half. Before Robbins he got intercepted ALOT. That why I want to know who the QB coach is now and whether he has anywhere the same knowledge because it does determine a passing attacks success whoever is running it.
And I know what Sonny can do after watching him complete a pass to beat R'dale when any other QB would have been sacked!
He was sacked. His feet were off the ground, his facemask was pointing toward the sky,the pass he got off went a mile high. The best coaching that Coach Robbins did, was coaching Shad into letting the QB play the position.
-
It would surprised me if they make that move. If they did, it sure would make for a fun offence like Pat White at West Virgina. I have not seen him throw the ball but I bet he could run a little Zone Option Offence pretty nice.
"That why I want to know who the QB coach is now and whether he has anywhere the same knowledge because it does determine a passing attacks success whoever is running it."
I think that there is a event at the Smyrna HS this Thursday where you can meet the new staff and the team. I will see what I can find out for you about the new QB coach.
Heard the new QB coach was Daniel Childs a graduate of Smyrna, with some college coaching. Played before Wokie, older brother of Stephen Childs, a Qb,FS also.

I think Coach A. said in the DNJ, that passing tournaments wer a chance to work the secondary. Looks like same o same o for the WARRIORS.
