great effort both girls and coaches. I know that 38-1 is not what you wanted but remember you are young and if you work hard you will get back next year.....hold your heads up high...when you were down 26-2 you could have folded your tents but you showed what guts and courage and heart you truly have....great season coach barnwell and coach w...i know that this will make you work even harder than you already do...b careful going back to jc

Okay you guys saying LC was the better team obviously are idiots. How many times does SH have to prove themselves? It doesn't matter if LC "almost" won, or you think they should have won, a win is a win. LC is at home and not in the championship game. Why is this thread even getting responses? LC couldn't have beat Clarksville.
Look, youve called us idiots and us you. Lets try a civil approach here, I agree that SH is a great team( even better next year) but the reason most LC fans are upset is that we got no respect from anyone at SH, Everyone there said it would be a blowout, a group of SH fans sitting behind a group of ladies from LC were cussing and saying how they were gonna go on a run any minute and would beat LC by 20. The fact remains LC played the toughest schedule in AAA of any team at state (just check strenth of schedule on Coach T). Lc does not shoot as well as SH( 29% in this game) but nobody plays any better defense, holding teams to less than 42 points per game while playing the toughest teams in the state including Science Hills lowest total of the year. That being said SH is in the championship game and I wish them luck( if youre gonna lose Id just asoon lose to the state champs so go SH). But you will always have to ask yourself one question, if their was instant replay in state high school bball would SH be there or not. Yeas I know they still may have won but sure wish it had been a 4 point half time lead instead of 6, especially when you lose by 1...

You are an idiot. I just looked at your schedule and the only quality wins you have were in post season over Oakland and Bradley. SH is better just face it and move on.
Your the Idiot, go look at the replay of the game, SH lost to LC plain and simple. The shot before half was way late, JUST LOOK AT THE TAPE, the announcers could not believe they gave her the shot. Their was a second and a half and she dribbled twice and took a jumpshot, so SH won with a basket after the buzzer by 1 point. You do the math even you cant be that dumb!

I don't know how the game will play out tomorrow, but I think it's unfair to imply SH hasn't played any competition during the season. I think even their fans would admit their conference is weak overall. However, they have quality wins over Mt Juliet and Bob Jones who can hardly be considered no competition. They overwhelmed Morristown East who took a good Overton team down to the wire. Additionally, I suppose LC was responsible for SH's substandard play, but SH had no impact on LC's shooting during the game. SH will obviously have to play better than they did today, but I don't expect them to get beat by 20+ tomorrow. I guess we'll know tomorrow...
You guys can keep kiding yourself if you want too, The day you played Mt Juliet it was their 3rd game of the day and Williams could barely get up and down the floor and Bob Jones has played a week schedule as well this year. Out of 36 games all you guys can say is we played Mt Juliet and Bob Jones,give me a break, when you start playing teams like middle Tn teams play maybe you can get past the 2nd round!! Clarksville by 20 PLUS! By the way until tomorrow the closest game you have had is to that Lawrence Co team that you were supposed to blow out!!!!!

No offense to LC but I think SC is clearly the better team....now with that being said anything can happen when both teams are in the Boro. If I was picking I would say SC wins in the 8-12 range. But that was what I was thinking about the Mo. East/Overton game too and that turned out to be closer than I thought.
Clearly better my ####, The shot before the half was late, everyone in the gym knows that, clearly better, S Hill escaped with their life and Clarksville wins by 20 plus!!!!

LC is a good team in our game at their place we only beat them by 12 so give them the credit for your team not "playing good"...they are well coached and well prepared along with good inside play and a couple of good shooters
Lawrence Co shot terrible today (10 of 38 starting 4th quarter) plus the shot before half was way late even the S Hill fans sitting behind us said so and LC still should had a chance to win at the buzzer, When you dont play any competition all season it shows at tournament time...Clarksville will beat S Hill by 20 PLUS

This one could get interesting, Mt Juliet has played Riverdale two very tough games. Still have to give the edge to R dale but having to beat a team like Mt Juliet 3 times in one season is a tall order for anyone..

Someone posted that Lawrense had beat these single a teams.In MY opion AAA schools shouldnt compare there record by beating single a schools.Teams that make it this far deserve respect and if there lucky enough to win 1 2 or 3 games thats extra.I belive all the games will be good and hope the Hill comes out on top but i do belive it will be a close game win or lose Sorry it posted 2 times

Your suppose to beat Summertown @ Loretto there single A .To me thats not a good win"s when your AAA playing A.S Hill beat #5 Clouldland by 40 or more and there at state but that wasnt a good win.
Actually they beat Cloudland by 30 (68 to 38) but I agree you are supposed to win those, LC beat Loretto by 35. Not even sure why you would use those examples with as many top AAA teams LC has played.

Get yours straight. BJ lost to Hoover when the big girl was not their for that game. When both were at full strength BJ won, but that does not matter. Who does LC start? What style do they play? That will be the question. Who can control the game?
Didnt know they had anyone out, That does make more sense when you look at the score of the first game. LC will bring a strong defense (held 32 and 1 Bradley to 12 points at half time). They are good at frustrating and wearing teams down. In 33 games they allowed a little over 40 points per game and played one of the toughest schedules. As far as SH you dont get to 36 and 0 without being a great team, should be fun to watch!!

They haven't seen competition like LC? Please, the toppers beat Mt. Juliet, Bob Jones (#1 team in AL, who beat Hoover) and are on a 36-0 streak. No stopping them. Way too much speed. I say science hill by 10+.
Get your facts straight, Bob Jones lost to Hoover 53 to 26 in their 1st meeting and won by 2 in their 2nd. Science Hill won by 13 total over MJ and Bob J. That said S hill is a great team but dont under estimate the Lady Cats. They played Mt Juliet and CAK in pre season play and won both but like I said in an earlier post this is state and you can throw all that out the window...Good Luck To Both Teams!!

Here is my take. If you buy into hype and propaganda,and you read the headlines, most would say Clarksville.I have not seen Clarksville play but I've seen Basheera Graves play,and she is the real deal. Central and Riverdale have met 4 times over the past two years and they have split. This includes splitting two games this year. I've seen 3 the 4 games. If Central plays to their potential, they are better. I saw the Science Hill vs Central last year. Science Hill was pretty good. If Overton had a good bench, they could pull this off.Their starting five is good. The reason Overton lost to Riverdale in the tournament last year is because Riverdale was deeper.Lawrence County and Morristown will not win, period. I don't think Riverdale will beat Mt. Juliet for a third time this year. The florida signee for Clarksville can shoot but she can be a defensive liability. Here is the skinny......If Centrals Danielle Ballard controls the game, Central will repeat as state champs. Ballard does not have to score to control the game. She has great handles. The sad part is,Central and Clarksville meet in the first round. I think Central and Clarksville are the two best teams.
Are you serious, Central doesnt look like near the team as last year, Riverdale beat them by 17 last time and Overton beat them twice. They didnt even win their region and you think they are the best team in the state. As for saying a team wont win period is the dumbest thing you can say, this is state and anything can happen, just look at last year.

Plays good defense. The only team in the state to hold Riverdale to less then 60 points. Science Hill may overlook them and be surprised.
Lawrence Co. has played one of the toughest schedules in the state and only allowed 41 points per game. Held 32-1 Bradley Central to a 12 point 1st half. Their shooting has been a little off lately but if they can improve in that area this week it should be a great game.

Memphis Central by 6. Ballard, Whiteside and Davis. Best trio in the state. Graves for Clarsville will be tough.
Have seen both teams play and have to give the edge to Clarksville..

We all get frustrated at times and to have your District MVP injured by a flagrant foul and then unable to play in the substate game is heartbreaking. Best of luck to Bradley Central and prayers for the continued recovery of your player.
One of the best games Ive seen in a long time, its ashamed someone has to lose a game like that, congrats to both teams!!

If the Lady Cats will all shoot and hit a fair percentage S.Hill will not get an easy ride. I feel the defense will be there, we just gotta pull the trigger more. Stay loose Lady Cats and have fun.
Lawrence Co is playing some great Defense holding some of the top teams in the state to lowest totals of the year and have played one of the toughest schedules. If they can get their offensive production up a little it could be a good tournament for them...GO LADYCATS!!!

Region 5-AAA girls final has national poll implications

Clarksville is one of five Tennessee girls basketball teams ranked in this week’s ESPN Fab 50 nationwide poll.
The Lady Wildcats, in fact, are the No. 7 team in the rankings — a spot behind Riverdale, but ahead of Science Hill (20), Memphis Overton (47) and defending Class AAA state champion Memphis Central (48).
Mt. Juliet is unranked, unmentioned and unlisted in said poll.
So Wednesday night’s Region 5-AAA championship clash between the two shouldn’t be much of a clash, right?
After all, Clarksville’s got five Division I signees, three of which are Southeastern Conference-bound — including Bashaara Graves, a Miss Basketball finalist who’s set to go to UT, and 3-point shooter Chandler Cooper, who will play at Florida.
Mt. Juliet counters with post Caya Williams, who has signed with Middle Tennessee State, and reserve post Barianne Taylor (UT-Martin).
But …
Don’t be surprised when the Lady Bears grab home court for Saturday’s Class AAA sectional round — and put highly ranked, highly touted Clarksville on the road — with a win tonight.
At 31-3, Mt. Juliet’s losses have been by 19 total points, twice to Riverdale (62-57 at home, 62-58 in Murfreesboro on Feb. 13) and to Science Hill on a neutral floor.
Clarksville, unbeaten at 34-0, hasn’t had a closer game than a 48-34 win over Hillsboro in December, and the Lady Wildcats opened the region tourney with a 59-35 win over Wilson Central before defeating Station Camp 66-27 in Monday’s semifinal.
Tonight will be a close game, and it’s tough for a team that hasn’t had the experience of those type situations to find itself in the middle of one — and to react favorably to such a setting.
Mt. Juliet 56, Clarksville 51.
And while it may be a national stunner, locally it won’t be nearly as surprising.
Looks like Clarksville handled the pressure pretty well...

Good call, Riverdale and L/C in final, will be the 3rd time they have meet this year. Last one was a great game with Riverdale eventually winning by 11...

Listen, with 1.5 seconds that is a catch and shoot situation. Not a catch, dribble twice, elevate and shoot situation. I was there too, Ive watched the shot 50 times and it was no good, listen to the announcers who couldnt believe the call, look at the clock, its on 0.00 before she even elevates, even worse youre own radio people said she didnt get the shot off, they were sitting right next to our radio guys and youre guy said we got away with one there. As far as the teams and coaches SH is a very classy and my pick to win it all next year and Ive congradulated them after every win. Post whatever you want next, I wont see it, Im signing off and will see you next year..
