    Thanks

  3. OR has a great coach that demands respect out of his players both on and off the field. some parents don't want to admit that there kid has done something wrong and has to be punished for it. So of course it turns out to be the coaches fault. Any good coach will not let his players make the program look bad and look like he has no control over his program. Even if that means letting some of his good players hit the road. In the long run OR will be fine when players/parents stop worrying about themselves and put whats best for the program first!!!!!

  4. Well the Taylor Durand is a good pitcher.. Still has alot to prove. The thing is that he is not even there #1 pitcher.... AC's top 3 are all lefty's.. There #1 is Tanner Williams who throws ok around 80-81 beat Webb last week so he must be alright. Back to Durand he MIGHT! be able to touch 83 but not stay there. Probably more like 79-80. Looks like on coacht that AC schedule is about to get a little tougher so we will find out what the MAVS are made of now that they are going against O.R., Halls, Powell, these next couple of weeks.

  5. I think Gibbs will have the advantage being on their home field. Just as AC did. It will come down to pitching since this game is in a tournament and both teams have been playing earlier in the week. Looking at AC schedule they have played/ will play everyday this week. I know both #1's for each team are out saying Willis beat PF and Williams beat Webb last night. Might just be the same two pitchers from last friday. who knows? I look for Gibbs to take this one.

  6. WOW! So the word is last night at Loudon, CAK is up 20 to 2 going into the top of the 5th and they still had all their starters in the game! Klinsky and Fromke hit 2 homeruns to make an even closer ball game at 22 to 2..

Question !! Why in the heck are Kilinsky and Fromke still in the game? Loudon had already pulled their starters and a Freshmen pitcher was on the mound. Go ahead and PAD THE STATS BOYS..

I promise the Irish will not be so nice!!!!!!

P.S. If I am wrong please correct me....but I think I am on point.

  7. WOW!!!!

MARLOW50..So seriously does J.P. like boxers or briefs? You are playing favorites so bad its not even funny... I am guessing you are a family member or a really good friend of the Prices...Wait maybe you just want to get a good coaching job at AC and J.P. being the head man is the best way for you to get your foot in the door.

head coach at 25? I don't see it happening. Hate to bust your buddle.. Its all up to T.L. if anyone stands a chance at AC or not...

    State Champs BABY!!!!

  8. Mavs will be back in the Boro if they remain blue collar. There is too much talent in that program for those young men not to make it back. With the Mavs what you see is what you get, nothing fancy just good hard baseball. They return some tough pitchers with another year under their belt, led by future TN Tech hurler Nick Price; and they got a crafty left hander returning in Eric York who recently signed with Roane State. Price has a good highschool fastball, sharp slider, and change that has good movement with same fastball armaction. If he continues to develop his command he has tons of potential. York is a crafty southpaw with good command and movement on his ball. He can throw 3 pitches for strikes at anytime. He will throw 3-2 curveballs with regularity, and believes in it. Other returning pitchers include Riggs, who will chew up some innings this year, as well as a couple of Sophomores that should be developing into good pitchers. The batting order and defensive alignment have a few holes to be filled after graduating some key players. Returning you have Rorex MTSU signee, great speed on the bases, has some pop in his bat, has good footwork at SS and plays solid defense. York is another with good speed and good baseball instincts, he gets incredible jumps on the ball in the outfield, plays solid defense, hits for average plays small ball very well. In the middle you have Foster, Pack, and Ellis, that all provide substantial power with excellent RBI production. I can see Foster bouncing from 3rd to dish duty, Pack at 3rd or 1st and Ellis at 1st. They have a solid nucleus returning, with some younger guys that need to step in and make routine things happen. The only team that is capable of keeping AC out of the Boro is AC. On that note you have a young but seasoned coaching staff that are intense, motivational and have a good feel for what it takes to be successful. Coaches Downs, Russell, and Boynton will have the Mavs ready to go in 2009, AC returns.

First of all.....blue collar is out the door! This is the "Pretty Boy Team" of the Knoxville area! Price and Rorex are always hurt. Ellis is just a big dumb football player. And Pack either hits it far or doesnt at all because his swings for the fence every time, and Foster is too pretty to play hard nose baseball. The coaching staff is good, but not experienced enough. Besides all this......Yeah they might finish 3rd or 4th this year

  9. First I want to say that Catholic played a great baseball game and deserved to win that one. There were no game changing bad calls, Catholic just did what it took to win. However, what I am very upset about is the way that the Catholic players and fans acted during the game and after. There were several instances of players taunting AC players, in particular one right in front of the umpire and high stepping into home plate by a Catholic player. Also back flips after the game??? I mean come on have some class....I understand that the team is excited and a little bit of trash talk is going to happen in sports, but such blatant disregard for sportsmanship and respect is ridiculous. Had AC won, I guarantee the four coaches at AC would not have let their boys act that way. You could see it in the game, when AC was up you didn't see Jordan Rorex come in high stepping at the plate after his homerun, no, what did he do? ... give his teammates a high five and head back to the dug out. . Just the way we play at AC...with respect to the game and our opponents. You'd think Catholic would have some pride about the jerseys that they wear and what they represent.

Just remember Maverick fans...we've been there and done the whole district thing...we've got our eyes on a bigger prize and I guarantee you Coach Downs, Coach Russell, Coach Wade and Coach Boynton will have the boys ready for the region and on...

So, if we see you again Catholic (doubtful) I hope that we will see a team that represents your school with a little more class.

Being an Irish fan I would have to agree with you. Congrats on the District Championship But next time lets act like we are use to winning big games. Its ok to celebrate with your teammates but don't rub it in the other teams face. AC I think has won the last two district championships and they haven't yet acted like we did last night. O well lets go beat Gibbs and good luck AC against Seymour......

  10. you must be out of your mind to even remotely beleive that ac has even the smallest chance of going anywhere in the tourney...the team you need to worry bout is Powell...They have beat several quality teams this year including your overrated mavericks...

Are ya kiddin? I have alot of friends that play for AC so I keep up with them pretty well and to my knowledge AC has beaten Powell alot more than Powell has beaten them. I also watched AC make about 4 errors in the loss against Powell this year since they played on Sunday and everyone elses field was still wet. Anyway when is the last time you have seen the panthers get out of their district?????????

  11. Probably going to come down to Catholic, Anderson Co. Loudon, and CAK. Everyone else will be down I believe. I've seen AC and Catholic and both of them look like strong contenders to compete for the championship.

  12. Catholic, Seymour, Gibbs, Anderson County.........UMMMMM NUFF SAID !!!!!!!

Very well put.. Matter of fact Catholic and AC both played last night in Oak Ridge against two AAA teams and won pretty easily..... I think the closest McMinn Central has ever been to Knoxville is to come play Loudon or come up to the Movies...
