  1. Andrew Tomlinson..

Sometimes personalities just don't mesh. I get it. Him and I have been around wreslting in the MidTN for years but haven't ever been close. For years I've watched him refuse to shake kids hands at tournaments, yell at other coaches from across the mat, refuse to shake hands after duals and other things. He's always rubbed me the wrong way.

But this one takes the cake.

A grown man belittling, a soon to be, 2x state champ and division 1 commit. Landon Desselle.

After a match last weekend at Regionals Landon had just won a match and was walking into the hallway to do sprints when he saw and heard Coach Tomlinson talking about him to another coach. No good things being said from Andrew. Mrs Desselle then heard him talking down about her son too and had to be forcibly held back by parents and coaches.

This wasn't the fist time either as Coach Tomlinson had been talking bad about Landon at the Blackhorse Inv too saying that "Ohio State doesn't even know who he is" and "he's not built for the Big 10" and "should've just gone to UTC" when another coach, who i wont name, who had overheard it, turned and defended him.

I only know of this story becaue of my relationship with the Desselle family. If he's talking bad about one kid you can CERTANLY bet he's doing it to others. And if he's willing to talk like this to kdis that aren't in his program imagine how he is to kids that ARE at Nolensville.

A grown man, belittling a child. Disgraceful.

Cleveland Raiders should have finished the match. Cleveland Raiders could have possibly mercy ruled Halls Devils in the final dual match of the season. Cleveland Raiders were just too good for everyone there. I tried to tell you this is what would happen in this tournament, but nobody would listen. I am Captain Guru and I approve this message.

Everybody knew that would happen. You werent prophetic in your guess lol.

What if any impact do you think the now approved NIL (Name, Image, Likeness)  deals will have on high school wrestling?

In this state? Probably not much at all.

Piper may get deals. She may be the only person in the state that deserves it.

rasslinking, you might want to get off the internet, also you have never rassled in your life, you wrestled, there is a difference

    Oooo

The one and only thing i can expertly comment on.

As someone who has both wrestled AND rassled i can tell you...there IS a difference.

You thought Summit Spartans would beat them. Summit Spartans were a real good team this season just not as good as Cleveland Raiders or Brentwood Bruins. You should be real proud of Summit Spartans wrestling team though. Is Summit Spartans going to be good in baseball again? I am Captain Guru and I approve this message.

Summit Spartans are 2-1 against Brentwood Bruins this year. They didnt win at the duals, but i still think they're the better team.

Why would you still post it knowing the results from the State Duals?

Give them some credit if your doing rankings.

    Along with Brentwood

It says they were updated 2/1. That would be Thursday. Before state duals.

Also, just my opinion, but the team order should still be Cleveland, Summit, Brentwood, then Halls.

Lastly, I don't do the rankings. I post the link on this site. You have an issue with them then hit Hamm up.

Didn't see this one but I walked over to watch a couple AC vs PF matches while waiting on Halls/Cleveland.

PF kid broke an AC kids finger,  on purpose.  AC kid holds his up his hand to the ref,  finger is straight sideways.  Ref looked at him,  said "I didn't see it,  you need to finish wrestling."  No injury time.

Refs were generally ok, but man when they were bad,  they were really bad.  Won't even try to keep kids safe. To add insult to injury,  PF coach made fun of it.

I reffed for a few years. The best advice I was given was by Jim Gabriel. He said “if you do your job right nobody should even know you were there”.

it felt like they wanted to be seen today.

  9. I don’t generally do this. But please someone explain to me how this is an appropriate call.

The call is initially for potentially dangerous. He immediately calls for injury time and Posey quickly says he’s good to go and is then DQ. Coach Miller goes to the table where the ref says “He isn’t going to argue with me”. Yet it was ruled an Inj Def on track wreslting.

    Here’s the video. Your thoughts?

    Back to what matters

    Conso Finals Brentwood vs Summit

#2 Posey is winning vs #1Yazdani

ref calls injury time after a potentially dangerous chicken wing. Posey says “no I’m good, let’s go”. Coach Miller calls the ref to the table and the ref says WORD FOR WORD “No he won’t argue with me that’s the match”.

Brentwood wins by Inj Def. I don’t generally say this but that ref is out of line. I cannot state how bad that was. Inexcusable. Unbelievable.

Second this, I also heard the ref say “he won’t argue with me that’s the match”

You see WG I am a full grown adult…I offered my opinion and like always on here if someone doesn’t agree with you they have to be a troll. Good come back!!
Go spread the gospel of WG because we all know how only what you think is correct!!
And Bump11 I am completely calm

All I’ve said is this process, the criteria for how we seed future tournaments, needs to be changed.

somehow you took this as a personal slight to you. Idk how you got there but whatever man. Have the day you deserve.

    • Thanks 1

And I’ve not seen you on here crying about anything. Your boy WG needs to learn not everyone has to agree with him!!!  That sir is fact!! It’s ok to disagree without talking trash!!!  Maybe instead of WG we should call him Karen!

Ohhhhhh ok, you’re a troll and not actually looking to progress Tennessee wreslting. Got it. I thought you were an adult and wanting to have an adult conversation. Honest mistake.

  13. 1 minute ago, BOUNCE said:

Agreed…BUT IT IS!  Why does it matter this year…because it affected WG!!
I have an idea…let them wrestle and see what happens before heck opens up and swallows the world!!

idk, maybe reading comprehension is just hard for you but i said i wouldn't advocate for them changing this years bracket. its there in black and white. go back and find it.

it doesnt effect me at all, i dont coach with any team. I said it needs to be changed IN THE FUTURE so it doesnt happen again. Read.

  14. 8 minutes ago, BOUNCE said:

Then make it happen bro…you don’t need anyone to come together with you to make a change.  Go get it and I’m sure it will make everyone happy.
Like I said in my post…this is how they do things…everyone knows…and pretty much everyone disagrees with it (me included) so why the big deal now?  Stop making this a us against you deal!
If you get a change made I’m sure you will be the whole states hero but holy cow man you gotta realize that in life everything is not fair!

That's absolutely, 100%, unequivocally wrong, It will take everyone. One person cannot get the tssaa to change the way they look at our sport.

Not everything in life is fair, i get it. But until we ALL come together and decide we ALL want things like this to stop happening it'll just continue to happen. I've been pushing for years to get the seeding criteria changed. But I'm a nobody. There's power with the PEOPLE, not in the person.

  15. 1 minute ago, BOUNCE said:

I didn’t say it was the first time…all I’m saying is go win and everything else will fall into place.

That's a cop out. I'm not saying the bracket this year should be changed. It is what it is. They've made their decision (i guess).

I'm saying this criteria has to be changed. So things like this don't ever happen again. It's happened too many times. To just say, oh well thats the tssaa for you, is a bad mindset. We, as the tn wrestling community, should ALWAYS strive for whats best for the state. To agree with that doesn't mean you're anti any one team. We can all agree this is ridiculous and should change.
