  1. Six teams worthy of hardware will go home empty handed.

WELL SAID. We all think our team is best in the state. It is a huge accomplishment to make it to the state tournament. Even for those kids who go on to play at the next level, this may be the epitome of accomplishment as far as setting a goal and making it to the big dance. All of the teams that made it this far have waded through some amount of adversity to get here.I look forward to some great b-ball this week. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

  2. I was referring to all classes in general, not just Union City and Manassas.

I have two general, possibly even unrelated comments. I wish these tourneys were stuctured a little differently to allow a team to come up through a loser's bracket and win this whole thing. A one game loss and go home is a tough way to determine a state champion. I realize someone has to be a loser, but I would love to see more of this caliber basketball. Also, I wish our public broadcasting stations or some independent station would carry these games. Georgia does a tremendous job of covering High scholl sports at tournament time. I wish our state had someone with the same commitment and interest. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

  3. Yeah LA did beat Tyner and Tyner did put Howard out but you have to realize its hard to beat a good team three times and we already beat them twice. But Brainerd beat them 4 times. You LA guys just get ready for Bolivar because they always bring it

Brainerd is a REALLY good team this year. Hope they can bring the Gold ball southeast . This looks to be an exciting boys tourney. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

  4. Dont worry WVHS fans. This is exactly what all the Middle TN fans said would happen when the Mustangs played Shelbyville. They play the game for a reason. It's because none of us know what may happen. All I know is that we should all go over to the 'boro and support the team and school as loud as possible. It is an exciting time and every game should be a great game.

    Go Stangs!

WV is no pushover, Hope they do well in this tourney. There will be some great teams and great games...Can't wait for Wednesday. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

  5. Yeah I think I was at that game?? Walker Valley has that Ware kid that can drop em from ANYWHERE on the court, he's fun to watch. I think he had 11 threes in one game by himself, I seen where he was picked "Player Of The Year" and thair PG is awsome too, their loaded!

I haven't seen some of these kids play since grammar school because we moved away, but they are a good group of boys. I hope they do well in the boro!

  6. I get it? You just like to say I told you so. Well, ok then. Cool. We got hardware while you get to "run your flap" /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> !

You are correct sir! Congratulations on a great season. I look forward to next season, hope it is as much fun as this year's has been.

  7. guncle...could've been 30 plus vs some other team that played wednesday that didn't play today!..Got a problem with LA? /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

    Nope, I'm just "running my flap" /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

  8. If westview can contain #22 they have a chance at this one. Neither team can beat Gibson County who will end up winning by 20 points or better on Saturday. They are just that much better than the rest of the teams that remain. If I am wrong...I'll admit it. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

    /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

  9. That would be a smart move by Westview to try and contain #22, but she's not the only player we have. If I were you I wouldn't worry about our game. I believe you all will have your hands full with South Greene. And that's just your opinion that GC will win it all. They have to get there first. I'll tell you what ..if LA wins and GC wins I'll take you up on that 20 points or better. Or are you just running your flap.

    /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> 20 plus

  10. Good Luck to L A today.

    Leave no doubt!

  11. Just wanted to thank these girls and their teammates for an exciting four years of Chargerette basketball. I know you are all dissapointed about the end of this run, and the way it ended. We look forward to watching those of you who will go on and play at the next level. As fo rthe rest, well, enjoy life, it is more than basketball and there are many great things ahead for all of you.You have brought great pride and a sense of class to your school and community. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication. Thank you to the coaching staff and parents who have also worked hard and brought great enjoyment for the fans.Keep your heads up...WE ARE PROUD OF YOU!!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  12. Besides it being a small gym, hot and loud.......

You left out the most important thing........the refs are blind too.

Of course they are, Central couldn't be undefeated just based on their skill and ability...Or could they?

This will be a good game, but it will not be decided by the officials. These two teams will stand on their own tonight, win or lose it will be a great game by two great teams...Go BLUE!!!

  13. Lets try to (is this right Mrs. Martin?) keep this about basketball, please.

This is about basketball played in a SCHOOL. You must pass to play or your scholarship will be revoked. /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />

  14. The chargeretts are to cocky. They need to be put in their place. To much talk, not enough action in the sub-state, and state tournaments. I've followed them for a long time, and no golden balls yet. Give me your opinions, and thoughts on this.

    "They may be "cocky" but they know the difference between "to" and "too"! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

  15. Since the season is now over for Sequatchie, and any talk about what has happened won??™t take away from what these young ladies are trying to do. I??™ll give my opinion. Sequatchie needed the three young ladies that decided to quite earlier in the year. They needed them to be competitive beyond their own district. That??™s just the fact. And when you have one of your two best remaining players go out with an ACL, well, it just gutted the team. I knew that Meigs would give Sequatchie trouble and wasn??™t surprised by the outcome. Meigs has done well this year, and this is about as far as they could hope to go. Polk won??™t be tired or surprised this time.

That??™s the facts of Sequatchie Ladies Basketball. BUT, being on a team is more than how far you go in tournament play. It??™s about fulfilling the commitment to your fellow team mates. It??™s about carrying your load, and that of your team mates when they fall. And being a coach is more than teaching proper man-to-man or offenses. It??™s about raising young ladies that will become productive parts of the community, committed parts of a family, and being a positive model of returning to the community the resources that have been invested in you. It??™s my opinion that Sequatchie Co. didn??™t have the best basketball players on the floor at the end of this year, BUT THEY DID have the best young ladies. I??™ve always said that teenagers will lie about just about anything, but when they tell you that they are quitters, you can take that to the bank. And quitters have no place on a winning team, no matter what their win/loss record is. The ladies that finished this season, and the coach that stood by their side, they are a classy group. I would have loved to have seen them go farther, but I don??™t think that would improve the pride that the Dunlap area should feel for this group of young ladies and their coach.

It??™s the natural act of a child to tear down and seek the easy way. It??™s the act of maturity to seek the best through hard work and pride. I??™d say these young ladies from Sequatchie has shown some great maturity. Good Job young ladies, and good luck.

WELL SAID!!! I couldn't agree more or have said it better.

  16. District 5AA McMinn Central coach John Morgan is closing in on his 700th win, should come next year. He hasn't lost a district or region game in the past 2 years. He has won the district seasons for the last 4 years, and won the district and region tournaments for the last 3 years. For the last 4 years he is at 113-18. In the last 7 years, he has had 11 players receive scholarships.

Absolutely!!! I wonder WWCMD if faced with a Greenville Situation? I bet it would be an interesting discussion thread if there weren't so many things to talk about here at tourney season. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

  17. Sounds like you're the one that needs to get a life - you testosterone is running a bit high. I would never threaten a person like you just did. The closest thing to a threat that I made was suggesting that folks talk to the school board. But it won't happen. You seem to have read more into my post than is really there. Where did I say that I was a former player, for instance? Also, my reference to "back in the day" was a reference to back in Clark's day, 5 years ago and earlier, when his justly deserved legend was built. But it's time for a change. I would be fine if he were to choose a new offensive coordinator. But something has to change. There. 1 paragraph. Are you happy? By the way coward, which DB assistant coach or parent are you? You have too much invested for your own good.

This is what I love about High School football and the SEC at the next level...You have to play the game to determine the outcome and ANYTHING can happen on any given night. Congratulations Cherokees on a big win Good luck next week against a tough Knoxville area team!!!

  18. No love for the Valley?

I'm going to say Boyd Buchanan by 10 but I also believe that it could be closer than anyone thinks. If Florida can blow out LSU, anything can happen! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> GO INDIANS!!!

  19. Biggest game of the year for both teams. Lets talk football

Still waiting to see what adjustments central makes for Tellico, and what they do mentally. This could be the biggest game of the year for both teams especially in light of last year. Wish I could be there to see this one in person. It will be a dog fight with some HUGE hits. I think Chargers win a tough one.

  20. Well, I know two teams already in the Valley which know how good Sequatchie is. What truth exactly do people know? That a team that had lost 25 out of the last 26 games is 5-2 this year? The Indians were 0-10 last year. No one said we would be state champions, but we have improved greatly and besides the second half of Tyner, have been in every game. So please enlighten me on what truth everyone in the valley knows??

    Indians win soundly!
