  1. 2seam you have no idea what it takes to run a basketball program! Dodson brought his team to the State Tournament and you're blasiting him as a coach! Come on! Where's Oakland? Oh thats right they'll be watching from the stands! LOL! I'm not a Siegel guy, I actually graduated from Oakland but I can't stand it when people blast a team that is in the state! It takes A LOT to get there! Just ask Oaklands coach!

I agree with you Go Packers, obviously Siegel is an Elite team since they are one of the final 8 teams left in the state. I heard that Melrose was O.K, and very poorly coached, but who knows???

  2. I'm just having a hard time seeing Siegel getting beat that bad.. They have loads of talent, and if they get hot..... It could happen.

I'll put it this way, Kerry or Levon would not start for Melrose this year. Melrose is unbelievably good and you'll see. I saw Siegel with both of their studs playing at full strength and Liberty won that game by like 10 points. Liberty played Melrose and lost by around 30 if that tells you anything.

So your saying Hammonds, a mr. basketball finalist a year ago, and a nominee for mcdonalds all american wouldn't start for a team, I don't think that is correct. Melrose may be unbelieveably good, but I still expect it to be a competitive game. About the whole Liberty thing, that does not matter what so ever... that is sports. Kentucky lost to UT by 9, and UT controlled the entire game, but they UT loses by 29 in the tournament, who you lose to during the season doesn't mean anything

  3. I'll go with the majority on this and say Melrose by 25+. After seeing both teams play this year, Melrose is on a different level than Siegel. With or without Levon, Melrose will have no problems.

  4. Have never seen Melrose play, and am a Siegel Alumni. According to all these post Melrose is just flat out amazing. I'm thinking that this state game for Siegel will end like the game 5 years ago when Siegel played Ridgeway. Melrose wins, and wins the whole tournament. BUT I believe if Tate is on the floor, and Hammonds is just absolutely doing work, then the game will not be a blowout.

  5. I have practice with my spare ball Ebonite Tornado all summer. The ball is low end and a weak cover stock will make you have to throw a good shot every time. It makes me create good timing, and release, and make adjustments to be able to carry. I think it has paid off. I've thrown my high end ball in the summer league and average 219 on a house shot that had open bowling and birthday parties on the lanes all day before leagues.

i think im just going to get my ball resurfaced... u think thats a good idea?

  6. The high school bowlers of Tennessee come in all shapes, sizes, and talents. Every year, we see a lot of good bowlers become great, and lots of new bowlers who have great potential. If you've worked on your game over the summer and straightened out some kinks in your form, post it here! Let us know just how much time you've put into becoming a better bowler!

i kinda want a new ball i have a total nv rite now and want something like that maybe a little more hook... any suggestions?

  7. ok just to let everyone know during season we dont get oiled lanes idk why people always say we have house advantage because we really dont alright im just myself clear about all this

they have more of an advantage then everybody else though the way i look at it. its like at a football/baseball game, its important to have home field advantage. its not the field/lane conditions the surroundings of where u are is what im pointing out. those guys will feel like they are at home... ??

  8. H'mmm, sounds like you guy's are going to have a solid team this year. Who knows? a couple of those 180 or 190 average guys might step it up a notch to a 200 average things could get interesting come Tournament time. Hey good luck, and good bowling!!

very true. it will be a good battle when we play each other. good luck to everybody. see u in october.

  9. Well I am going to get back on the topic here and pick Brandon Barnes and Aaron Davidson to battle it out. Both really bowl well in that house so I am going to put the Monkey on their backs lol...

your right. it will me a huge advantage for the smyrna boys and siegel guy that it is at smyrna....... home alley advantage?

  10. I'm just wondering, are y'all talking about the district or the regional championship. I want make a pick as who will win I don't know what Siegel has coming back. If it is the regional title then where does Columbia end up in the region, and who wins and hosts the sub-state and who travels to Chattanooga to face either Soddy Daisy, or Walker Valley winner. I would like for somebody to fill me in on siegel, and what they are looking like this year. I do know Matt Roberson is their top bowler who else???

Matt and Michael Horenkamp will be leading the way with an average of about 210 probably. I know Matt beat Brandon 2-3 last year and if Michael gets in a close game he will find a way to beat johnny. We didn't lose anybody that was good last year. Our other bowlers will be averaging around 180-190 with Stephen Telford, Tyler Rohrbaugh, Patrick Schloss and 2 people that can come off the bench and bowl 180s. I also know that they have a new kid that transfered from Denver that is supposed to be in the 190-200 range. I think we can make some noise if Matt and Michael set the tone and the rest follow. Should be a breeze for both teams to the region though... only competion i think will be each other.

  11. This shouldn't even be a topic. Smyrna will crush them by 1000 pins. For state, I would have to go with Smyrna and Soddy. Smyrna lead by Brandon Barnes and Johnny Gillis. For Soddy, Matt Lyon and Scott Dimirjian.

smyrna will never beat siegel by 1000 pins this year, I would even say 200 pins unless we fall apart. If you don't know what your talking about then don't say anything. Smyrna won by about 150-200 pins everytime last year. It wasn't johnny or brandon that shined either it was johnathon collier who got them rolling...

  12. Being a fan of good baseball and with no ties to Farragut or Ravenwood the statement that the Farragut 3rd baseman was hit with a slow curve is an OUTRIGHT LIE. First pitch curve was outside. Second pitch fastball (the best the kid had) hit the Farragut 3rd baseman (6'2" 220lb.) in the elbow area. He trottes to 1st and never made any remarks or comments,as he should. He actually laughed. Ravenwood fans should be more upset about the 2 double plays that were not called by a very poor umpire.YO UMP!! Have you ever heard of the "neiborhood play" it's been in baseball for 100 years.Ravenwood, be proud of a great season. Farragut looks unbeatable. But I haven't seen Bartlett. I will today, reguardless of cost. You should too!!

U ARE EXACTLY RIGHT. I WAS ON THE 1ST BASE LINE WATVHING AND THE BATTER LAUGHED AFTER HE GOT IT AND SAID "CHECK THE SCOREBOARD". THE UMPIRE DID WARN THE RAVENWOOD COACH...

  13. enough of bashing teams lets get back to talking about AAA state champions

i agree. but about the farrugut situation. why would they need to hit a guy if they are up 12-0 and 9-2??? give me some logic...it was uncalled for the ravenwood pitcher and coach to hit a guy they deserved getting tossed..

  14. whats up big man...tell your mom i said hi...who will pitch the for you tomorrow

dont kno wat e5 is talking about??? who is this pearl hurt or crunk? lol i think its one of those 3. and i think you can guess who will be pitching the 1st game for us tommorow...

  15. Though the season is still far from starting, who do you think has put in enough time in the off-season to better his/her game to the point of being the 08-09 individual state champion? Last season, Mike Poirier finished with an individual victory along with the team state championship, too. This season, I want to know who everyone thinks will win the individuals, so post your input here!

johnny gillis or brandon barnes for smyrna. matt roberson will make a run at it from siegel.
