It was good to get back to the 2 day format.  Overall a great tournament and lots of great matches.

MY only complaint is medals during the tournament,  I think they should do it more like Bradley and do it all at the end.  I thought it sucked to see all the people leaving and not watching the upper weight kids finish.

Missed seeing Union County and stil shaking my head over why Centennial chose to exclude their whole team because several were sick. If I was a parent at Centennial, I'd be pretty upset that my non-sick kid missed one of the biggest tournaments on our schedule.

Probably just not reported yet.  Credit to ole Soms for staying on top of the info though.  I'm fairly certain he was completely accurate.

Watched Ryan wrestle twice this season and saw CB once.  No way they upset Ryan this season.

OK..I thought it was against the rules. It would be nice if it wasn't.

Am I wrong or is there a rule that would not allow a current TN wrestler to go wrestle in a tournament like Dixie Nationals?

Will that change with the new rule changes that are upcoming?

Wells, ranked #2 in TN, got pinned by Alabama's #2 ranked wrestler from Thompson not Georgia. Sells had a 1 point decision over Cleveland's senior and first year starter who hasn't wrestled since middle school. Garrison's only test of the season and noteworthy win at the duals was an impressive decision over Pope's state placer Burson. Cleveland's Josh Hamilton wins against Jevon Brown and Ezra Taylor picks up a win over Feuerbacher.

Does this translate to Cleveland is great and everyone else isn't?  Am I confused?

Make sure you double check the kids you are wrestling against down there.  Last year, they had 9th grade kids wrestling in the 14u division.  (It was supposed to be against the rules)

I spoke with him before his match with Sells last year at Bradley.  He is a really nice kid and definitely bright and a student of the sport.  Before the match he asked me if the 160 kid from Blackman was any good.  I said, "Yeah, he's ok." 

I wish him well and I sure am glad we got that win against him last season. He won't make it easy for anyone else to beat him again.

So let me ask a better question. What in the way of being vocal should the refs not do? I have coached mine sometimes to get out if bounds to achieve a fresh start. Am I wrong for coaching that or are the refs wrong for demanding they stay in bounds near the edge?

So this weekend's Cleveland Duals.  Seemed to me like many of the referees are too involved in the match.

For example, at least couple of refs were VERY vocal during the matches, telling the wrestlers things like:

"Let's go fellas."

"No no, stay in bounds..stay in bounds."

"Offense guys..score...score."

"Stay in and score guys."

So my question is....Should they be saying so much?  What is taught?  I know they should push the action when there is little but telling a wrestler to stay in bounds?  Sometimes the strategy is to go out.

It also seems like there are some guys who dont say hardly anything....should there be a standard?

He's talking to you!! First Blackman's coaches were kind to everyone AND not sore losers. If you want to talk about people setting a good example perhaps speak to the dad who was in the stands being obnoxiously loud and criticising the officiating while his kid was wrestling. Maybe also learn a little Internet etiquette as well.

The 6AAA game is a joke. WOW.

I know you Maryville homers are trying to be nice but get real. Maryville by as much as they want in this one. Either every kid plays in the game or maryville wins by 40. After the first quarter, Hendersonville ain't got nothing for you.

Watch the game on Hudl....teach the kids how to line up and they won't get called for offsides......

Does anyone else think that the TSSAA officials "tighten up" during the playoffs and championships?  Perhaps a no-call in Game 3 is called for sure in Round 3?

Are we going to have to hear all week about how great 9AAA is?
