I agree with you 100%. As I stated a couple of months ago, I felt all along that McMinn Central will be the team to beat. I was very impressed with these young ladies last year. I think the final will go down to Gibson and Central but when the buzzer goes off at the end of the 4th quarter, Central will take the Gold ball back east and Gibson will take the Silver back west. My team( Marshall) shockingly got put out so I have no dog in this race but I'm still excited about this year teams. Congratulations and good luck to all the teams. This is a wonderful time for all of these young ladies and it will be a time that they will never ever forget!!! I hope they all remember whether win or loss, stand tall and proud because there are lots of young ladies that never experience playing in a state tourney!!! Marshall County was in the lead when this was suppose to have happened. The timeout was over and the ball was going to be taken out near their (Hickman) bench. Marshall had already broke from their huddle waiting for Hickman to break from their huddle. If Coach Barrett had of thought Lauren was trying to listen, I am pretty sure that he wouldn't have had any problems speaking up. This lady( Judyinfinity) needs to get all the facts before posting something like this. There is nothing worse to me, than a grown person getting on a post degrading children. Lauren March is not only a great player, she is also a wonderful young lady. This young lady has played lots of games and no one has ever had a bad thing to say about her. This lady has personally attacked Lauren and it is ashame.

You should be ashame of yourself!!!! This is a child that you are talking about. I would never get on a board to dog out a child. If you wanted to know the rules why didn't you go under the TSSAA web to find out. If she was in your huddle why didn't your coach tell her to get out or why didn't he tell the refs or better yet why come you didn't tell the refs when it happened? This really saddens me because the Tigerettes and Lady Bulldogs have kept a decent relationship with one another. Its usually parents like you that make it hard on the atheletes. You are probably a parent that has never liked Lauren and this is your chance to attack her. Well, I am here to tell you that its not going to work. KEEP YOUR HEAD UP, LAUREN, WE GOT YOUR BACK!!! Okay GC, don't put the bullseye on us!! lol Remember, Gibson and, McMinn, have returned all of their players from last year. After last year we lost 3 major players that were starters, heck, with only 2 starters from last year team there is no way the bullseye should be on Marshall. I am putting the bulleye on Gibson and McMinn Central. All jokes aside, Marshall is taking one game at a time, not taking anyone for granted. It will be a blessing to get to the Boro because there is still a lot of folks that don't believe these young ladies can make it to the elite 8.

Yes, you cannot get much better than Lauren and NeNe. These young ladies bring so much to the game and they also provide great leadership to our girls that are not so experienced. Coach West is a very passionate and intense coach. He is always coaching no matter what the score is until the buzzer sounds at the end of the 4th quarter lol. I really think that this will be a great state tourney no matter who the elite 8 will be. Sometimes its not always the best team that get there. It is the team that wants to be there the most. All of the teams have to keep in mind that at any given night, you can be beaten. There were teams last year that I just knew would get there but unfortunately did not make it to the Boro, for example, Obion County. Those young ladies were well coached and tough as nails last year during the Thanksgiving tourney and I had no doubt that they would be in the Boro. I was very shocked when they didn't make it.

GC Pioneer, you are right, this class is very wide open. It is going to be interesting to see who the elite 8 will be in Class AA. I have to disagree with you on one thing, Marshall County lost 3 starters from last year so really, we did not return most of our player that had experience. We have 4 young ladies that bascially never touched the floor last year that are now either starting or coming off the bench to get a lot of playing time . This team has surprise a lot of folks this year because no one expected these young ladies to be sitting on a 25-0 record. I know folks say we have a weak district, but 9 of those games were against good 3A schools. This class is wide open but I really feel that McMinn Central will be the team to beat. I was most impressed with this team last year besides our team( Marshall).

I really can't say who will win this, but McMinn Central is in almost the same spot we( Marshall County) were in last year. We had all of our returning players from the previous year that we were runner up in the Boro and came back to state last year and brought back the Gold Ball. I really want to see Marshall win the first ever back to back Basketball championship for our school but I also feel in order for us to do that we will have to go thru McMinn Central or Upperman and maybe both if we get to the Boro. Class AA has sooo many good teams that I will not be surprised on whoever wins it.

Congratulations "L" on breaking the school scoring record and being selected in the first round of the All American McDonald team. You make us all soooo proud especially for me that has known you since you were a baby. You are so deserving of all your accomplishments and more. Class A- Clarkrange Class AA- Too many good teams to just pick 1. There are several teams that could win this. Marshall County, Upperman, McMinn Central, Gibson County, Westview and also some good teams in upper east tn.. Its just hard to pick in this class right now. I would not put my money on anyone. If all of these teams can make it to the Boro, what an exciting tourney this will be!!! Class AAA- ?

Both of these teams have to get there first. Marshall County is taking one game at a time. We really do not talk about M'boro yet because it's very important for us to focus first and foremost on our District competitors. We do not take anyone lightly. We try to play every game like it is the Championship. When that time comes and both teams can get there, it would be nice to meet up in the final game. We played them last year in the semi finals and as far as I am concern, that game was the Championship game. McMinn Central and Marshall County were in the toughest bracket and unfortunatley they had to meet in the semi final. So for whoever that is worried about why there is no noise about the Chargerettes, don't sweat it, just let your girls play speak for itself not by what other people or the media thinks!!! The folks that are making noise about Marshall County are not even from Marshall County. Good luck to your team through the rest of your season!!

Our thoughts and prayers are with these children's families and all of the Bulldog Family. All of your friends in Marshall County are deeply sadden about this tragic accident. May God be with all of you.

Honey Hush!!!! It is what it is!!! The Marshall County Tigerettes are and will always be the 2008 AA State Champions!!! Oh yea, let me tell you a little secret, everybody doesn't know that Milan is the better team, I was told that Marshall and McMinn Central was the 2 best teams, unfortunately these 2 teams ended up in the same bracket.
