I want to give a shout out to the Cane Ridge Lady Ravens. With only freshman and sophomores, this group played very competitively in 12AAA. Coach Tribue did a great job and I think big things are in store for this group a couple of years out.
Why do football teams get in a huddle? Why did Oklahoma have 2 and 3 different coaches simultaneously flashing plays into Bradford in the championship game? Why do QB call out audibles in a code? Why do we have signals in baseball and softball? Why are catchers taught how to show signs to a pitcher? Why do shortstops and second baseman flash signals to each other as to who has the bag?
Folks these are the parts of our game that we all love. The challenge of putting plays on and confusing the opposition? As a coach I would be crazy not to look for things that will reveal poor communication on the part of my opponent? I would be crazy not to teach my players how to look for these things and take advantage of them?
I agree that coming from the stands or places other than the dugout or field are totally inappropriate.
