  1. I think CSAS should definitely be top 10 and possibly top 5 for several reasons:

    1) They return all 5 starters and all key reserves from a team that lost in the Final 4 last year by 9 after leading at the half to eventual state champion Clarksville.

    2) Beat McCallie who has some very highly rated players in their respective classes and is one of the top DII teams in the state.

    3) Their 3 losses were in overtime to AA Tyner, overtime to AA Hixson (without starting their starting PG, Stallion, to injury), and on the road at A East Literature with 2 of CSAS's starters coming off of injuries (including Alex Stallion, their best player).

    4) Their average margin of victory is 33 against Single A teams and 26 against all competition.

    5) Their district this year is slightly down but Coach Dragoo did a good job of scheduling out of district games to prepare them to make another run at the state.

  2. CSAS versus CA was a very enjoyable game to watch, and not just because CA came out on top. It was a well-played game both ways. The officials allowed the boys to play, but when they did call things, they called it equally on both sides, which is something we do not always get to see, so it is very much appreciated.

CSAS has a great team, and #4, in particular, is an excellent player. Their fans are classy, too. They wished us luck before we played Wednesday, and our students were impressed to have some of their fans congratulate us after the game today. I left M'boro with a good feeling not only about our team but about our day's opponent.

I agree with the second paragraph. The first paragraph, however, I completely disagree with. In the first half 10+ fouls were called on A&S and only 4 were called on Clarksville if I'm not mistaken. I'm not blaming the refs because Clarksville deserved to win, but some of the fouls called on CSAS were questionable. Those twins are very good and its scary to think they are only Juniors. Best of luck tomorrow, but I'm going with the hometown team. Grace by 5.

  3. Sorry guys but college coaches are not looking for a kid that can just come down pass the ball and set a screen. They are looking for the athletic kids that can take someone off the dribble and get to the basket, if the kid can speed dribble to the basket and shoot they are consider to be a top prospect. These county school who suppose to be FUNDAMENTALLY SOUND TEAMS are not going to the big D1 schools. Plus they are not winning the STATE every year because when the game is on the line, all the fundamental stuff goes out the window because its all about who can get to the basket and who can shoot the basketball. So to answer your question WESTWOOD wins by 15. Thank You and I approve this message...................

I'm not disagreeing with your prediction... But Grace is far from a county school and fundamentals definitely don't go out the window when the game is on the line. It is the athletes with fundamentals that go D1.

  4. Yes maybe not in the 1st round of the tournament. But this is the Elite 8 bud. The top 8 teams in the state. Any of these 8 can make it to the championship and win it. If you think differently then you are the one who doesnt sound smart. B)

  5. A sign of a good team is when they do what they are capable of doing against another team or in tonight's game.......when you can play really bad and still win! RBS played as well as they could and we played as bad as we could.....but we showed a lot of heart and hung in there long enough to win!

Have your ever watched rbs play? I'm not looking to start an argument but in my opinion that was nowhere near the best that they could play. They did play a very good game seeing as how their star player W. Grace was completely shut out behind the arc. Csas guarded him exactly the same way the girls guarded Colter, face to face all night long. All in all Csas rose up when they needed to and came out with a win. Congrats to rbs for a great season, from what I've heard this is the farthest the boys have made it in school history, and the best of luck to csas in the state tourney!

I honestly have never even heard of RBS until CSAS had to play them. They had a good game plan but it seemed to me that CSAS wanted to take away the 3 ball and make them beat them off the bounce. It was a solid plan. Congrats to RBS on a great season!

  6. Howard and Tyner are both very, very good. And I'm not just saying that because I'm a Chattanooga homer. Tyner's post player has had several triple doubles with blocks this season. There's a reason he's going to UConn. Their guard play is very good and would be even better if their shooting guard hadn't gotten hurt. Howard is always well coached and will be a tough out for anybody. Don't sleep on these two Chattanooga teams or you will get beat. I can promise you that.

  7. props to JC on that game 2 years ago. They shot the lights out. They would have beat anyone on that night. I dont know much about grace other than they had herman and a sophomore who played significant minutes as a freshman last year. I would expect CSAS to compete with just about anyone they play with this year because of their athleticism and the always formidable press.

  8. PC took something close to 11 or 12 charges. That cost CSAS the game in the end. The Lady Pats had a horrific shooting night but in the end it was the charges that lost it. Gotta learn that pull up jumper! Congrats on a great season ladies...I expect an even better team next year. Good luck to PC the rest of the season.

  9. As much as I would like to pick Temple to win this, I don't want to. I remember last year everyone picked arts & sciences to beat Jackson County but JC came fired up and shot the lights out. I expect Clay Co. to be the same way so be careful crusaders. I wish the best of luck to both teams and congrats on great seasons!

Yup it was meant to be for Jackson County. You dont shoot 85% or whatever they shot from 3 points land every night. They got hot and I wouldnt put it past Clay Co. to do the same thing. Good luck Crusaders and represent Chattanooga like we know you can.
