  1. Watch out for those CSAS girls...they have some players.
  2. #12 (Church) is good. If he was more consistent I would agree with you. Temple outrebounded CSAS 43-22. I dont think they will do that to Grace because Grace is bigger. If Temple wins the rebounding battle...I give them the game. 43-22 makes me sick being a CSAS fan.
  3. I apologize I didn't know losing in the state championship, or the state tournament for that matter, was considered "packing your bags." Since, after all, you are one of 2 teams left playing in single A basketball. Its ok, I would be bitter too if I had a team with 3 division 1 caliber players that didnt make it past the region semi finals two years in a row.
  4. It seems that Grace shoots the ball much, much better in that gym than Temple. For this reason I pick Grace by less than 10.
  5. You say that now because you couldnt say it the past two years. That post is saturated in bitterness. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  6. Who does temple have coming up for next year? I didnt see anyone on their JV who looked like they could be serious contributors in one or two years. Good luck to the Crusaders also. I cant wait for this one.
  7. Good thing they dont get to see CSAS in the semis then...cause the score has been awfully close the past couple of meetings between grace and csas.
  8. make your own thread for this. we are talking about temple-csas not sexton-buckner
  9. Temple doesnt have much of a bench. If CSAS can get some fouls on people I like their chances a lot.
  10. What prayers did he make? The floating in the lane midrange jumpshot? Thats his game. He has the hang time to do it...and Aaron is extremely good at it. He makes them consistently every game.
  11. Anyways...to stay on the topic of this discussion. I think CSAS pulls the upset. Each game they have gotten closer to Temple and I think Dragoo has a few things up his sleeve. He always does. Im looking forward to it. I dont have any hardcore analysis to prove that I think CSAS will win. It is just a gut feeling that I have.
  12. Couldnt agree more with your second paragraph.
  13. I seriously doubt coach dragoo tried to do that. He isnt afraid of Temple and Grace. Temple wont be much of anything after this year.
  14. This is true. There is an article in the paper every year about parents who camp out for 2 weeks prior to the application deadline. Wait...maybe reading the paper is just for city fellers...
  15. Ok OP. I have tried really hard to understand your 4th grade reading level English. What I am getting is that you think CSAS recruits. Ok, thats fine. That is your opinion and you are entitled to it. But here are the names of the 7 seniors from last years team and where they came from: Dontay Hampton: 13 year Paideia senior, came from CSLA. Curtis McKoy: 13 year Paideia senior, all 13 years at CSAS. Hassan Cobb: Maybe 13 year student, not entirely sure. Was at CSAS the whole time. Michael Johnson: Not sure exactly when he came, but was at CSAS through middle and HS at least. Warren Foster: Came to CSAS in elementary school as far as I know. Brian Ball: Came as a freshman but was on the waiting list since 7th grade. Luke Ziegler: Entered school at CSAS as a sophomore after moving to Chattanooga from North Carolina. Terrell Townsend entered school as a freshman after being on the waiting list. Aaron Cousins also entered as a freshman and was on the waiting list. EDIT: Forgot about Deleon Deere. He came as a sophomore or freshman. Left the team because of disciplinary issues. You can add the 6'9 post player from Ooltewah to the list of players who were on CSAS waiting list to get in but didnt make it in time. If we were really recruiting based on basketball skill why would he have not gotten in? Also, CSAS doesnt have a football team because of the philosophy the school is run on. It would also cost a ton of money to start one that the school just doesnt have. This is a good thing though, because the boys on CSAS's team play pick up year round. There is no other sport for them to focus on. When SP is playing football, CSAS is playing pick up and improving their basketball game. Maybe that is why the kids who aren't that great in middle school come to CSAS and get better. Basketball is to CSAS what football is to South Pitt. It is a huge deal. Im truly sorry that we had to go 50-0 in district play the past 4 years Old Pirate. It must stink to get dominated bad enough that you have to attack one of the most respected coaches in the area and say that he recruits. That is completely insane and shows a lack of judgment on your part.
  16. CSAS easily. the 4 year undefeated district streak will continue

  18. Ya'll can have the regular season victories. The past 2 years proves that Grace doesnt show up in the region semis. If you have 3 D1 caliber players last year and the year before - including a 6'11 and 6'9 in single A there is no reason you should not be in the state tournament. Whether you consider last year an upset or not is your opinion...but most people picked CSAS to win the region last year anyways. Im gonna stay with the trend and pick CSAS to play Temple in the region finals this year as well. Temple hasnt really "waxed" CSAS this year. The margin of victory by both Grace and Temple this year has been pretty consistent over CSAS. All it takes is a few breaks for CSAS in the tourney and Grace will be sent packing AGAIN.
  19. I think CSAS backcourt is better...especially PG play. If Grace could break a press they would have won the last game easily. Fuquan had so many turnovers and missed opportunities in the last game. Stallion is better than fuquan at managing the game and creating scoring opportunities for CSAS. I would give the edge to Herman over Townsend because Herman is a more consistent defender, and no one on Grace's team can stay in front of Aaron. CSAS is playing their best right now...it should be a great game.
  20. Great teams don't do that. Great teams play the entire game from the opening tip to the final buzzer whether they are up 10 (which Grace was with 1:44 left) or down 30. Maybe that is Grace's problem. They are lazy. Grace wasn't exactly dominate in the second match up. The only dominating performance was Patrick's twenty points down low. Even with him doing that the game was still close. Its not easy to come into 3rd street and win...and with this being the seniors last game on that court...I expect nothing short of a victory.
  21. That part makes me laugh. In high school if you go to block someone and get them with your body they will call a foul on you. Grace got way more calls in that game than CSAS did. All of Pat's fouls were pretty legit in my eyes and weren't bad calls. Plus, Pat fouled out with what? 4 minutes left in the game? At that point he already had 20 points, at least 10 boards, and 4 blocks...so I dont think him fouling out was why the game was so close. Patrick would not have broken that full court press that Grace's guards couldnt really break at the end of the game. Aside from that...I think CSAS wins this one. If they don't win this one they will win in the region.
  22. Grace did win by 3. CSAS was down by about 10 with 1:40 left and cut it all the way to 1. Herman got away with a blatant shove right in front of the offical to get the ball on an inbounds play once CSAS was down 1. This is NOT why we lost the game but it was a call that was missed terribly that should have been called. Oh well, CSAS proved they can play with Grace even when Patrick was getting whatever he wanted down low. Aaron Cousins and Stallion played excellent tonight and Townsend turned in a solid performance. I cant wait for the region tourney!
  23. Alex, Don't you know there is a double standard? Grace and Temple are allowed to do that to teams and it is ok. If CSAS does it it is bad sportsmanship.
