  1. Your caps lock is what is out of control.
  2. Shaugnessy is the X factor tomorrow night. If he gets early fouls and doesnt assert himself in the 1st and 2nd quarter...CSAS is gonna hang around and make a game of it. On the flip side, if Patrick gets physical and gets some fouls called on Townsend or whoever is guarding him then CSAS is gonna be in trouble. In my opinion, Herman will get his points. If Patrick is limited then CSAS chance of of winning grows exponentially. As for CSAS, I think that if Cousins can get his midrange jumpshot and penetration going and Townsend has a good, not necessarily great, night shooting the ball then CSAS will be in it throughout. Stallion has been playing excellent basketball for the Patriots, and they will need him big time tomorrow night. He will get about 5 steals and turn them into fast break opportunities for the Pats which takes Shaugnessy's size out of the game. If the role players from CSAS can contribute (Ty Johnson and Nick Jackson especially) with 6-8 points and good decisions when they get the ball in their hands I think CSAS can get the victory. Lets not forget that the past two years Grace has beaten CSAS in the regular season, then CSAS went on to win in the semis. The Patriots need to remember that while this game is important, it will not define their season, and go out and play a CONFIDENT game so that they can carry it over to the region tourney.
  3. Grace beat Silverdale by 50+ and we all know it was a close game the second time...lol
  4. Close game throughout with temple pulling away in the end to win by 15-20.
  5. Game of the century? I laughed when I saw that. Putting that nonsense aside. I think CSAS pulls out the victory in this one. By 5-10 points. Look for herman to put up 30 or so shots and patrick to not touch the ball.
  6. Coach dragoo would never run up the score intentionally. This is a fact. I played for him and he would not tell his team to run up the score. From what I heard the 2nd and 3rd string guys were in most of the second half. If a team is that bad, in my opinion, and the 2nd and 3rd string guys are scoring at will, then there is not much a coach really can do. Now, CSAS is superior as far as talent goes to anyone else in our District. There is no doubt about that. Didnt Grace beat Silverdale by 60 or something earlier this year? Should we whine about Grace running the score up on Silverdale? Or is their a double standard that I am unaware of? As for blowing someone out, it is not always the most deteriorating thing for the loser. I remember 2 years ago when CSAS got beat by 40+ 3 times in one week. Howard, Temple, and East Ridge. They ended up turning it around and improving as a team greatly. In fact, didn't Silverdale just beat Grace, a team that beat them by 50-60 earlier this year?
  7. Just another bitter Grace fan crying because they got beat two years in a row in the region semis by the "underdog." It must feel awful to have so many D1 players come through there and yet not make it to state.
  8. Same thing as the girl from Grace who now plays at CSAS. Both her and Stallion have been on the list for a few years. When your name comes up you are allowed to transfer and play. I think that is the rule at least...
  9. I have seen multiple times where Shaugnessy has had his man sealed so bad and they dont throw him the ball. Instead they take a contested shot. It happens all the time. Don't boohoo about foul calls. He is big enough to take it up on anybody in his region. Even so, if they are triple teaming him why is he taking it up? He should throw it opposite side of the court to the open man then repost or his teammate takes an open shot.
  10. I agree bigbird. CSAS teams have always played with a swagger. I think the "Baby Patriots" are starting to grow up and gain that swagger and that desire to never quit.
  11. Grace needs to start playing like a team if they are going to beat temple or csas in the region. Why not feed patrick everytime and let the offense run through him? Its amazing what happens when you give the ball to a talented big man such as Patrick...Herman wouldnt have to force a shot because he would be so open. 6'8 or 6'9 is tough to guard...especially in Single A.
  12. It is also worth mentioning the play of Alex Stallion. As a sophomore he is doing a remarkable job of managing the game and making good decesions. Combine him with the shooting and scoring of Townsend and the quickness of Cousins and that makes for a pretty lethal trio in the backcourt for CSAS. If anyone saw the highlights of Stallion's spin move that he put on Brandon Andrews on the news...you would agree with me it was a thing of beauty. I have been very impressed overall with the young talent on CSAS's squad.
  13. Jurick and McMasters were also nominated and if I'm not mistaken both may have been rated higher than sexton...I know Jurick was. Neither of them played in the game. I am not sure if you ever saw Moses Lindsey play but he was and still is a beast. Take his size and athleticism and put it on a kid today and he would be a monster. Moses had the opportunity to play with AI at Georgetown. I'm pretty sure that them being nominated in the 90's was relative to the "poorer quality," as you like to put it, of players there were back then. In 10 years we could be saying the same thing about Jeremy, Jurick, and Mcmasters. No doubt Sexton is a great player. He has outstanding potential and will make an impact on some team in college. But he will not play in the Mcdonalds Game...he was simply nominated...which is a great honor itself.
