  1. I love how these poasts get turned into a bragging contest. If all of what is on here is true then 75% of the teams shouldnt even show up at the qualifiers. ASA should just hand the berths out to the Falcons.... no one can catch them with 6 players in sub 3's. Worth should get one just because a few parents think they are the strongest team in the state & "really" do have 2 girls throwing in the 60's... That just leaves 2 berths for the other team to fight over.

Funny how no one has spoke a word about DEFENCE, SMALLBALL, HITTING YOUR SPOTS WIH A 65mph PITCH or other aspects of the game that really decides who wins a game. Can thse flamthrowers hit there spots regulary or do thay just throw 70mph bb's intot he parkinglot? Can the rest of the team field a 60+ ball comming back at them at over 100mph....what if its 40' high & flys 400'? Can all 6 of them spedsters even make contact with a ball? if they can what about the rest of the team? Or are they planning on winning all there games just scoring 3 runs once threw the line up?

Bottom line is.... Speed or pitching alone will not earn any of these team a berth. Last time i checked this is a TEAM sport & takes 9-12 quality players, solid coaching & a little luck to be successful. It should be interesting to see who is pulling there foot out of there mouth in Aug...

FYI: my 10yo will be trying out for the Falcons & Worth both next season. She throws 10 pitches all over 70mph & has a home to 1st time of 1.3... O ya she also hit 150 HR in T-ball last season. She has decided to take this season off to concentrate on learning Trigonomerty before she enrolls at Harvard. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Some good points you wrote but you are confused. I don't have anything to do with Worth or Frost. I think Worth will run away with everything and Frost will fall flat on their faces but I am not Worth or Frost. It doesnt sound like nighthawks mom has anything to do with them either. 5 sport daddy sounds like he is from Worth but nobody else. Can guarantee you CoachJV and bulldawg is Frost and mocmom might be too. I'd put good cash on betting a junior who verbals early to a school like Louisville can hit a spot or two. Weve been on the losing side to them enough to know they are all about defence and smallball. I only heard a rumor they were loaded. Now Ive seen who they have I only agreed I heard right. I'm not jealous I'm only glad they are going 16.

Thats a bunch of future big time college players

OMG. I told ya they were LOADED but I didn't know how LOADED. This is sick. You might need 10 players under 2.0 to play with that group. I'm glad they aren't in 18 Gold with us. Thats 10 future D1 players.

  3. SCHOOLS CANT PLAY AS A TEAM ONLY 5 GIRLS PER HS TEAM CAN BE ON ONE TEAM. ITS AGAINST TSSAA RULES TO PLAY AS A TEAM IN THE SUMMER UNTIL SCHOOL STARTS.

    NOT TRUE.

    Not even close.

Sometimes this board is real irritating.

  4. To the 11 outsiders who have emailed to confirm your experiences but don't want to chime in on the board. Thank you very much. It is a horrible feeling to see your kid punished because mom and dad don't have the right connections. To the parents mulling over whether or not to play for the daddy ball king this summer, I can tell you that the second to last thing you want to do is play because you will be miserable and your daughter won't get any better. Average B team at best and horrible coaching. But the last thing you want to do is to turn him down because she'll pay for it in school ball for the rest of her career there. He'll find a way to reward her with a permanent spot on the bench.

To the 4 insiders with the integrity to admit the truth that also wrote to confirm. Thank you also. I know who all 4 of you are and you are all class acts that bring credit to the Lipscomb community. Your candor and honesty is apprecitated from this outsider.

  5. Well giddy for you priddy. It must be nice to be on the inner circle. Did he ever come see my daughter play travel ball? Nope. Nor any of the others not on the inner circle. But he comes to see a 10 year old? Did you have to endure a daddy wanna be coach with his little charts and constant pregame, midgame, and postgame visits to inject his "coaching" to manipulate playing time for his daughters over more talented players? Did he prohibit your daugther from doing the one part of the game that she does best because of the influence of a daddy wanna be coach? I can only be thankful that we didnt have to put up with that too but it happened heavy this year to one outside the inner circle. Did he give your daughter or her team mates bogus reasons for poor decisions that changed 3 or 4 times and often contradicted each other? Did he disparage your daughter or her inner circle buddis to other players? All you inner circle people keep writing. You keep proving my point. I was at home games to even though we've come and gone. Lipscomb is in our blood and we were there for the girls. A few of those girls who weren't on the inner circle this year were miserable just like in years past because they had to indure those things you in the inner circle people don't. But I know from being there that some of the inner circle are smart enough and honest enough to see the double standards and daddy influence and have the integrity to admit it. We saw it during our time. It's still going on. I feel for those girls who's parents dont have the money or influence or connections to be in the inner circle. Disparage him. Yes but only when the inner circle praises somebody for the exact opposite of how it is for everybody but them. Keep prooving my point.

  6. Wow, you probaly need to start your own travel team. Show em what a real coach can do. Or you can take her out of that awful private school, and she will probaly be a star at her zoned public school.

Star at a zoned public school? What kind of stupid crap is that?

3 replies, and none of the assumptions are even close to being accurate. And nope, not a disgruntled daddy. Too many people on this board seem to think that winning records indicate good coaching. Sometimes it can, but load up a high school team with travel ball talent and anybody can win. Throw in a few years of riding a world class pitcher and suddenly you're a legend? Longevitiy does not equate to legend either. Wins with talent does not equate to good coaching, at any school. Winning a couple of games come district time doesn't make a team "better" at the end of the year than they were at the first. Might just have something to do with pulling a top pitcher out of moth balls, or it might have something to do with playing in the weakest district in the state with only one real challenge who was still pouting about losing their stud. So, to follow your replies, you are absolutely sure that there isn't a lot of pitting players against each other? You're absolutely sure that a daddy doesn't have more constant access to the coach than all of the players combined? Bottom line is you don't have any idea. With some coaches, the excuses and justifications for poor decisions and poor behavior keep changing to suit particular needs when someone points out that the original excuses don't hold water. Then there are so many that an individual seems to forget which ones they have already told you. You're absolutely sure that there weren't kids on that team who were torn down so much that they were ready to walk off the field for good? You're absolutely sure that there weren't kids on that team who only stayed because their travel coaches talked them into staying? If your answer is yes to any of those, you either have no clue or you aren't telling the truth. Good kids deserve better than that. They deserve a straight answer, and the same answer. The deserve to know the parameters and have parameters that don't keep moving for certain players. They deserve the right to earn their spots on the field without the constant overbearing influence of a biased parent with questionable ethics and motives. They deserve the right to go to school and play ball without having to hear from their teammates and school mates less than complimentary things to say the least that were stated by a coach or teacher. Keep that head in the sand. It feels better down there. While you are doing that, I'm going to expect kids to be treated properly. Sorry if you don't like that. And keep making legends out of all of those coaches loaded up with travel talent beating up on overmatched teams.

  7. says more about your character than it does his.

Yeah it does. It says that others have the "character" to understand that playing mind games with teenagers, pitting players against each other, allowing full blown daddy ball to be a daily part of your program, breaking down young girls to the point that there is no confidence left, constantly changing excuses, reasoning, and rationale after the fact to justify your constant poor decisions and actions, engaging in spreading gossip about opposing players and your own to other teenagers, and playing favorites is just plain wrong. Let your daughter play for someone with that level of "character" then we'll talk.

  8. Congrats to the Lipscomb girls on a great season. Your season ended a little earlier than you had hoped, but you represented your school well. Another great job by Coach Davis. What a great man to have leading your child.
