  1. Independence has won their first 2 games against Houston, 25-16, 25-11. Houston won third game 25-17. Indy leads 2-1 going into 4th game. Indy wins game four 25-23, match goes to Indy 3-1. Next up winner of Ravenwood v. DB.

  2. The lacking of talk on this game makes me wonder if both teams understand it's implecations. I would expect Indy to roll in this one, but I would be the last person to count Ravenwood out. They have a chip on their shoulder about this season, and literally now have nothing to lose. With a huge amount of fight they can win this game and set up their own destiny. They just need to have enough confidence that they can

    Indy 27 - Ravenwood 17

Both teams have been so up and down all year their fan base's really don't know what to expect from either. Everyone is taking the "sit back and hope" stance on this game. Weather could again be a factor. Bring you rain gear!

  3. Don't know who Page will be playing in post-season but I'm pulling for the opponent unless it is the Al-Qaeda Jihadistas. Seeing the Page scores and then reading the article......unconscionable for a coach/program to humiliate lesser schools in order to "set records". I lost all respect for the Oak Ridge program a few years back when they hammered Halls, 15-0, and their studette posted seven goals to "get a record".

If you looked at the Page box scores you would see they score the majority of their goals in the first half. The Page coach uses the second line players in the second half. You can't ask those players not to play hard. Nor can you ask the first team players not to play hard because they know they may only get to play in the first half. Any athelete wants to play against the best with a chance to beat them. That's how they get better and learn to compete. The Page team is a classy bunch and are not out to set records at another teams expense. No offense wiretowin, but you are passing judgement about a team's morales that you know nothing about.

  4. Indy cannot look past any opponent this year, because their margin for error is small. If they can get the penalty bug fixed, they will be a more dominant team. The Eagles should look at this game as a payback game. Centennial beat them last year, and Indy's season was downhill from there. This can be the game where their season takes off. Let's go Eagles, you have to win 2 in a row before you can win 3 in a row.

  5. I like Indy at home in this game. On their final drive against Brentwood they proved they can throw the ball. I'm hoping Coach Eubanks mixes up the play calling to keep MBA off balance. With MBA 2nd team QB, defense can sell out against the run. Indy by 6.

  6. Wow your dumb, he was just stating that coffee was a freshman at Indy then went to Brentwood next year. Didnt you notice how it was in a different sentence?

Lot of Indy guys were getting banged up in the game too, Jerome had a knee problem after Indy got the 2nd td in the half half (dont think he played for the rest of the game?), mid way through the thrid, Brett Meeker had a cramp and was out for a drive, and Ty Stannard had the same problem in u

For whatever reason, the Tennessean is doing a poor job with high school sports in general. Williamson A.M.'s coverage has really dropped off since one of their writers left last year.

  7. This was a great high school football game. Lots of swings in momentum making for a great fan experience. Indy hurt themselves with penalties that either stopped drives, or cost them possession of the ball. The 4th quarter was the killer. Indy, punting from their own end zone recovered a muffed punt on the Brentwood side of the 50. Play was called back because someone one the o-line moved. Next punt gets returned for a touchdown. Indy 14- 7. On the next series if Indy scores it may have put the game away. I am admittedly going to sound like a homer here. The indy Nation endured a couple questionable calls by the refs during the game. On this crucial series, Indy has moved the ball into Brentwood territory looking in control. Heckman runs right for a short gain, and gets stacked up by a host of Bruin defenders. Whistles are blowing, refs are running to the pile, and one Bruin defender uses Heckman's head to twist him back peeling Heckman's helmet off. This clearly happened after the whistle, but no call was made. Side judge was in clear view. 15 yd penalty would have put Indy deep in Bruin territory. For the Indy Nation, an unfortunate no call, after enduring many yellow flags our way.

Indy still lost this game with missed tackles. It looked like the defense wore out in the 4th quarter.

It's a shame the Tennessean gave this game no coverage in this morning's paper.

  8. I saw about 3 quarters of the Indy scrimmage with Dickson. Heckman did not finish the 1st quarter because of a banged up shoulder. This could be trouble with as much as he carries the ball. Linebackers played poorly, bad reads and tackling. One of the cornerbacks got beat consistanly, they will need to find another option. Indy's line is big, but they don't over power their opponents as you would think they might. There was a semblance of a running game, though the coaches should scrap the pitch plays. Both quarterbacks made poor decisions and bad pitches resulting in fumbles. Passing game was okay. Receivers ran mostly short routes, curls, outs, slants, and were getting open. QB execution was just average. Team still has a ways to go on both sides of the ball.
